Investment – Rs. 9.71 Lacs

Total Annual Savings – 60,000 kWh & Rs. 7.20 Lacs

Simple Payback – 16 months

Innovative Project implemented in

FY18Background –

• Training facility on 2nd floor

• Peak Occupancy – 200

• Requests for lowering the temp. set points

• Although AHU set point lowered, cooling was not

achieved hence Chiller outlet set point was reduced

by 1 to1.5 Deg C

• Other floor occupants experiencing chillness

• In case of less occupancy, cooling was wasted

Occupant dis-comfort

& Energy wastage

Innovative solution deployed

• VFD acts as DDC panel with all intelligence stand-alone

• User can set temperature & VAV will modulate

• As VAV operates, AHU speed is controlled by VFD

• VFD also controls Chilled Water valve to control flow

• 90% control on Air & 10% control on chilled water

6% savings achieved

0.10 Lac kWh

with OEM

Projects evaluated in 2018 & dropped

HVLS fan

- Payback was 5.5 years

- Aesthetics

- Safety

- CAPEX & OPEX both were high

VAV & VFD for all AHU

- Duct layout demanded more than 1 VAV

- Variation in speed of Fan was low

- Payback was 5 years
