The Mobicents MS is an open source Real Time Media Server that offers a rich set of media features.

Recent development added support for Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) in such way that PSTN, VoIP and WebRTCcalls can be bridged seamlessly. Besides, WebRTC has the power to catapult the Mobicents MS to an era where video calls arebecoming the norm and where brand new multimedia topologies and techniques are emerging.

Thanks to this kind of innovation, the Media Server plays an important role not only as a cornerstone of the RestComm platformbut also as a business enabler that creates new opportunities for TeleStax.

Abstract:Nowadays, carriers are being pushed by regulation entities for high demanding LBS, for the likes of emergency servicesprovision like E911 and E112 in America and the European Union respectively, or the RNTE in Colombia, need to have as manytechnology options as possible to meet these requirements, both in the control and user planes. TeleStax acknowledges theimportance of this subject and embraces the challenge for delivering a complete open source solution in the control plane forMobile Network Operators, regardless of the available Radio Access Network positioning technology and Core Network. Throughthis solution, positioning of any user equipment (either for legacy or next generation) will be feasible with no need of GPSassistance or any specific application installed at the user’s handset.
