Reception of Holy Communion

Staying Connected │ Worship and Community Life

Should you chose to join us in person for our limited public Masses, please see the guidelines below to

maintain a safe worship environment for all:

Wear a Mask. For the protection of the members of our community, face coverings are REQUIRED for all attendees, including children over the age of two. We have been informed that members within our community have tested posi-tive for COVID-19, although had shown no symptoms. Wearing a mask is one of the most effective ways that we can avoid the spread of the virus.

Follow Signs. Please enter the church through either the north school entrance (door #2) or the south school entrance (door #9). Plan to arrive early enough so we can safely seat you in the church before Mass begins.

Signs will be posted as reminders to maintain safe distancing and sanitary guidelines.

You will be required to sanitize your hands before you enter the church. Use the hands free hand sanitizer stations or bring your own.

Practice Social Distancing. Please keep your household socially distanced at least 6 feet from other attendees as you enter and leave the building.

Contact Us. Please contact the parish office if you have any questions regarding our plans to come together safely. We must be vigilant in protecting those most vulnerable. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID exists anywhere people are present. We have undertaken precautionary cleaning, disinfecting, and implemented social distancing guide-lines to help reduce the risk of exposure.

However, the Church of St. Odilia cannot guarantee that visitors are 100% safe from exposure to COVID. We take our guidance from medical and health professionals and dare not put God to the test by assuming that faith will protect us in the absence of commonsense precautions. We know that the virus is still spreading and that mem-bers of our community have been impacted. Please con-tact the parish office if you have been diagnosed with CODIV-19 and have recently had close contact with oth-ers at St. Odilia.

If you choose to join us for Mass, please follow these guidelines to

safely receive the Sacrament.

Communion will be distributed after Mass. Ushers will invite parishioners for the reception of communion. (Communion is also available after 11am and 1pm livestream for those who are unable to attend Mass.)

You are invited to depart after receiving Communion through either the north church entrance (door #1) or the south church entrance (door #11).

Growing Through Loss In this time of social distancing, wearing masks and isolating ourselves, when a loss occurs in our lives or the death of a loved one occurs it can change the way

we grieve. Our more common rituals, that can provide comfort and support are changed. Because of these unusual and difficult circumstances we are planning on holding the fall Growing Through Loss series at Incarnation Lutheran Church 4880 Hodgson Road, Shoreview. Due to a scheduling con-flict, the series will begin one week earlier on consecutive Thursday eve-nings, 6:45pm, from September 10 through October 15. We feel this grief support ministry is very much needed at this time. All entering the building must wear a mask and maintain the 6 feet apart physical distancing. If you are in need of this support please consider attending this Thursday evening series. To receive updated information visit www.growingthroughloss.org or call Deacon Jim at 651-415-3354. Blessings from the Bereavement Com-mittee and the Pastoral Care Council of St. Odilia.

Informacion General

© LPi

JULY 2020 – GREEN ENVELOPES: CHARITY FUND The July green envelope is designated to support the St. Odilia Charity Fund. This fund traditionally provides resources for parishioners and community members who require help due to job loss, homelessness, illness, or other personal crisis. This year the importance of this fund has taken on additional meaning due to the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the recent civil unrest. Many of you have responded to our call in recent months to support the Charity fund. Through recommendations from The Pastoral Care Council and the direction of Deacon Jim Saumweber, donations were made to the following ministry partners;

$2,000.00 Listening House of St. Paul - To fund floor replacement & new shower installation $2,000.00 St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store – Help to rebuild after civil unrest $7,500.00 Neighbors in Need (MCRF) – Support individuals & families experiencing need as result of the current crises $3,000.00 Common Hope – Education & food for youth and adults in Guatemala $3,000.00 Feed My Starving Children – Package foods due to Pandemic $3,000.00 Open Arms – For delivery of medically-tailored meals to the critically ill $3,000.00 Second Harvest Heartland – Food for families in need due to the Pandemic

$9,033 was contributed for meal support to Dorothy Day, Catholic Charities, and Sharing and Caring Hands and an additional $3,427 was distributed to provide direct emergency assistance to individuals within our St. Odilia community. In addition to the support from our parishioners, we also received a $10,000 grant from the Minnesota Catholic Relief Fund that provided monetary support to 22 families who may be undocumented or otherwise under-served and in-need due to the recent crises. Your continued support of the Charity Fund allows St. Odilia to be able to respond to these unprecedented needs while continuing to respond to ongoing needs of the most vulnerable people in our community. Thank you for helping to feed and care for our neighbors.

June Green Envelope: Youth Ministry In June we collected $1630 to help support our youth ministry programs that help St. Odilia youth form and deepen their faith. THANK YOU from our youth! Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Did you misplace your green envelop for July? You can still contribute to support parishioners and community members who are struggling. Just write a check payable to St. Odilia with “CHARITY FUND” in the memo line. Thank you!!
