A combine for all seasonsThe MF 5650 Advanced combine is a result of Massey Ferguson’s continuing commitment to technological innovation in agriculture. It has been designed to make harvesting more efficient and productive while offering extremely low running costs.

The latest technologyThough simple in design and construction, the MF 5650 comes with the latest in farming technology with features such as: disc brakes, a high-inertia threshing cylinder with two-speed ranges, automated header functions controlled by an electronic module, a fan with turbine-type blades, hydrostatic reel drive, and a constant mesh gearbox.

The excellent power to weight ratio allows these machines to harvest where others in their class cannot. Their low weight and extremely good ground clearance makes them ideal for soft soils and slopes, reducing soil compaction to a minimum and, with easy access to all serviceable parts, maintenance times are greatly reduced.

Value for moneyThe MF 5650 Advanced combine represents an excellent investment because of high work capacity, low operational costs and increased productivity compared to other machines in their class.

Threshing

High inertia threshing cylinder and concaveThe heavy cast iron threshing cylinder is more than twice the weight of a competitor’s conventional cylinder using spiders of pressed steel. This gives important customer benefits.The high inertia force developed smoothes out peak loads and maintains a constant cylinder speed for more efficient threshing, less grain damage, improved capacity and better fuel economy.

Two types of concave are available - the narrow spaced concave is ideal for threshing tough grain crops and with the wires pulled out, excellent for beans and peas. The wide spaced concave has larger diameter wires and can be used for easier thresh grain crops, maize and any pulse crops like soya.

For rice a peg tooth cylinder and concave can be fitted as standard or offered as a loose option when a multicrop combine is required. The rice specified machine also has hardened auger flighting on the table and throughout the combine for prolonged durability.

Separating system The straw-walker geometry on the MF5650 Advanced combines has been designed to provide maximum grain separation. High speed 5 walker technology with four steps give intense straw agitation which keeps loss to a minimum. Simple drives have low power requirements allow easy servicing

Large capacity grain tank The grain tank, with a cover for protection from rain and humidity, has a very large capacity of 5000 litres. This means fewer unloading stops, cutting operational costs and increasing overall productivity. It has a fast unload rate of 55 litres/second and empty in less than two minutes. It can also operate in any position to suit all grain transport vehicles.

Edible bean harvest equipment The MF 5650 Advanced combines can be fitted with specialist equipment designed for direct cut harvesting of bean crops.

This produces a very high-quality bean sample fetching much better market prices - another demonstration of the increased returns you can expect from your value-for-money investment.

Flexibility is the key – headers for all crops

HeadersThe MF5650 Advanced can harvest many different types of crop , we can offer three types of table to suit your requirements - a rigid header for grain rice and similar crops , a flexible header for soya and up to 6 row maize header. The combine is really that flexible.

Grain and rice headersHigh capacity headers with widths form 4.8m to 6.1m are available, all rigid headers have rice hardening for long life and durability. They have hydrostatic reel drive which is infinitely variable from zero to seventy two . The auger has centralised feeding fingers and is protected by slip clutch.

Powerflex headers for soya4.8m or 5.5m flexible headers are available crops which have seeds right down to ground level.

The tables have a large auger with stainless steel feed plates for excellent feeding. The flexible cutterbar is supported by a parallel linkage which will follow the ground to ensure maximum harvest. The hydrostatic reel speed is controlled from the cab to allow you to match the ground speed and avoid losses,

Automatic table controlsWhen a Powerflex table is specified there are three Automatic systems that work together to maximise productivity. They control the header when working very close to the ground making it much easier for the operator to maintain an even feed. • CHC (cutting height control): adjusts the header position to guarantee a constant pre- determined cutting height from the soil.

• AUTO LEVEL (self-levelling header): adjusts continuously and automatically the levelling side to side of the pre-adjusted cutting height.

• THC (header height control): sets the table automatically to a predetermined height for crops where it is not necessary to cut at ground level, this can be preset between 20 cm and 50 cm.

Maize headersDepending on the row width 70 cm - 90 cm, 4, 5 or 6 row headers can be fitted, these high performance headers are especially suited to harsh conditions , they are easy to maintain and have good access for servicing.

Simple choices for an effective solution

Operator environment The operator position in the MF5650 Advanced combines guarantees comfort and an accurate cut because of the improved cutter bar view. This also makes the machine safe and easy to manoeuvre and puts the operator in the ideal place for unloading.

The cab is standard with air conditioning , passenger seat and depending on the table specifications has conveniently placed controls for operation. A platform version is available with a canopy for sun protection where a cabin is not required.

Cleaning system design Designed to the most modern standards, the cleaning system keeps grain loss to a minimum, increasing productivity. In the high capacity two sieve shoe adjustable sieves are standard for grain and maize (two sizes). Extra round hole sieves can be specified for speciality crops. The fan is equipped with turbine-type blades and the air stream direction can be adjusted for varying conditions.

Low maintenance bearings are easy to service and are designed for a long service life . Simple drive lines have good access and low belt count. All routine maintenance is straightforward and can be handled without special tools.

Tracks for paddy rice Tracks can be specified for wet rice conditions, with 6 or 7 rollers and 640 or 800 mm shoes. These provide high flotation and good ground clearance, track marks are kept to a minimum, which is extremely valuable for re-sprout harvests or in no till conditions.

Four-wheel drive As an alternative the MF5650 Advanced Combine can be specified with four wheel drive for added traction in muddy conditions. In addition Duals wheels can also be fitted where soft conditions are likely to occur for better flotation.
