3. FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

Coffee brewer with automatic water supply.The brewer is equipped with a separate hot water tap.Brewing takes place in a detachable serving station.Brewing is done using paper filters.

Brew time = 5 - 6 mins.

4. START-UP

Start the brewer by pressing the main switch (A) located at the rear of the machine.

A light will start flashing, indicating that the brewer is filling and heating water.

7. INSTALLA TION AND START-UP – SERVICE Cater

7.1. Place the machine on a flat surface that is impermeable to water.

7.3. Electrical connection

NB Connect the plug to a separate earthed wall socket (230 V10 amp).

7.2. Connect to your cold water feed using the connectiontube supplied.It is recommended that you connect the tube to a shut-off tap.

For the best results, pressure should be between 14.5and 72.5 psi (1 - 5 bar).

It is the responsibility of the end customer/user to ensure that thewater feed is compliant with the manufacturer’s instructions.In hard water areas, it is recommended that a lime filter is fittedto the water feed before the machine is installed.

8. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Brewing Cater

8.1. Starting the machine

Start the brewer using the main power switch located at the rear of the machine.The machine will start filling with water.

Place a filter in the filter holder.

8.3. Filter placement.

Always use Coffee Queen-recommended filters

Filter type 110mm disposable filter . Item no. for ordering 110110

8.2. The machine st arts heating water .While machine is heating the water, the display will flash.

Once the water has reached the correct temperature, thedisplay will stop flashing and show a steady light.

The machine is now ready for use.

1. Load the filter holder (A).

2. Lift the upper lid B on the servingstation and then load the servingstation C.

8.4. BREWING: Add coffee.

Pour in a portion of coffee (1 15 - 135 grams)for full brew (grind between percolating and brewingcoffee), ’restaurant grind’.

Make sure that the coffee is evenly spread.

8.6. START BREWING

1. Start brewing by pressing brewingbutton 1/1 for a 2.5 litre brew.

1/1 Full brew 2.5 litres

1/2 Half brew 1.25 litres

3. STOP / PAUSE button

- Press button once to pause the machine.- Press button twice to stop brewing.

To complete brewing, press either 1/2 or 1/1

DRAWING HOT WATER

You should not draw hot water whilst themachine is in operation.

2. When brewing is complete, the displaywill show a steady light.

8.7. To keep the aroma and temperature of the coffee:

Put the lid (A) back on the serving station after brewing.

Tips for keeping coffee hot.

Pre-heating the serving station.Fill the serving station with hot water drawn from the tap and leave to stand for about1 hour. Pour out the water. Then brew some coffee.

8.8. Remove the serving station and filter holder. Empty the filter and and sump fromthe filter holder and clean.

The brewer is now ready for the next brew .

Some tips for achieving the best coffee quality

1. Do not change the recommended amount of coffee.

2. Do not mix freshly brewed coffee with old coffee.

3. Always rinse the serving station before the next brew.

NBBefore each brew:Rinse the serving station with clean tap water.

Every dayRinse serving station and filter holder with hot water.

When cleaning the outside of the machine, use a soft ragand a non-abrasive liquid detergent.

NBThe machine must not be coveredwith or immersed in water .

CLEANING PROCEDURE FOR 2.5 LITRE SER VING STATION

Fill the serving station with hot water by running a brew cycle without coffee and filter.Put 1 tablespoon of cleaning powder in the serving station and wait at least 15 minutes.Draw off 2/3 of the cleaning solution.Use the cleaning brush to remove any detergent residues.

IMPORTANT! Rinse the interior of the serving station several times with clean water.

Serving station cleaningRemove the level tube and clean it every weekusing the cleaning brush.Remove the big lid and clean the mixer tube.

Important

Do not make any alterations to the machine. Doing so may result in personal injury and cause themachine to break down.The machine should stand on a flat surface so that it will function properly.The machine should be placed on a non-permeable surface so that any leakage is easilynoticeable.Make sure there are no kinks in the connection tube when machine is moved into position.All tube connections should be checked on a regular basis.Make sure that no leakage has occurred in connection with installation.With a water connection, there is always a danger of leakage, regardless of any safetyequipment used.Do not leave the machine unattended while in use. Close the water tap when the machine is notin use.The machine must be disconnected from mains electricity supply before carrying out anymaintenance.Turn off the operation switch.

All installation work must be carried out by qualified personnel.

12. Programming. Adjustment s. – SERVICE Cater

ADJUSTING TEMPERATURE

1. Press the full brew and half brew buttons simultaneouslyand hold for 5 seconds until you hear a beep.

The display shows the current setting.

2. Adjust using the buttons:full brew = (increase water temp.)andhalf brew = (decrease water temp.)

3. Confirm the new settings by pressing the Stop/Pause button.

70°C = min. temperature.96°C = max. temperature.

ADJUSTING WATER QUANTITY

1. Push the full brew and Stop/Pause buttonssimultaneously and hold for 5 seconds, untilyou hear 3 beeps.

The display shows the current setting.

2. Adjust using the buttons:full brew = (increase outlet valve activity)andhalf brew = (decrease outlet valve activity)

3. Confirm the new settings by pressing theStop/Pause button.

12. Adjusting quantity of water . - SERVICE Cater.

This is to improve the water flow into filter holder .

The flow of PDS valve is set to 0.95 litre /minute. Depending on the coarseness andamount of coffee that’s used when brewing, the flow might need adjustments to preventoverflow in the filter holder.

Adjusting quantity of water

1. Check the water flow.This should be 0,95L/minute.Adjust PDS valve if necessary. See fig.1.

13. Error messages – SERVICE Cater

Error messages E1, E2, E3 and E4 are shown in the display .NB The machine must be unplugged from the mains during all installation work.

15. Use and precautionary measures Cater

This coffee brewer is an appliance for delivering hot water and preparation of coffee. Its durable,non-toxic components are easily accessible for cleaning and maintenance.

The appliance must not be used by children or unauthorised people.Users must comply with applicable safety regulations of the country in which the machine isinstalled and exercise sound common sense. Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out ona regular basis.The installer, user or maintenance technician must inform the manufacturer of any defects ordamage that may jeopardise the machine’s original safety.- The installer must check to ensure that the ambient temperature is correct so as to guaranteesafety and hygiene for both operators and users.- Responsibility for the operation of commercial components installed in the machine rests withthe relevant manufacturer.- Responsibility for authorised operating personnel lies with the customer.

Do not expose the machine to the external stresses (sun, rain, etc. ).Long periods of non-use at temperatures below 0ºC may cause the water tank and its tubing todegrade and crack. Therefore, it is recommended that the machine is fully drained after use.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified electrician.(See service manual).

The machine contains no user serviceable parts. Do not pull the power cord to unplug themachine from the mains.Do not clean the interior of the machine with the power on or with the machine still plugged intothe mains.Do not use a water jet when cleaning the machine.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for injury resulting from use of the machine in an inappro-priate, incorrect or foolish manner.-This manual is intended for users and/or machine maintenance personnel.It provides information about the correct use of the machine, details of appropriate mainte-nance procedures and good safety advice for users.Keep the manual in a safe place as the manufacturer accepts no liability for personalinjury or damage to property caused by the machine if it has been used in a way that deviatesfrom that prescribed in the user guide, or if the precautionary measures or care and mainte-nance instructions have not been adhered to.
