Physical Education:

The Physical Education Department requires that every student have a "PE Uniform". A Dis-covery Canyon PE shirt and black shorts may be purchased at the beginning of the school year in class. Black Shorts may be bought else-where, but MUST have at least a 6 inch inseam and be black—NO exceptions. Students must also have appropriate athletic/tennis shoes. Combination locks are provided for Middle School Students.

BANDS AND ORCHESTRAS

Concert Attire

Everyone: White tux shirt, bow-tie (you can be fitted at local de-

partment stores such as Macys)

7th/8th Grade Students: Cummerbund or Vest

FLUTE: cleaning rod, cleaning cloth.

OBOE & BASSOON: 2-3 good working reeds at all times (medium

soft to medium strength), a reed case, cork grease, cleaning

swab, small water container.

CLARINET & BASS CLARINET: 3 working reeds at all times

(beginners – size 2, all others size 2 ½ to 3 – recommended

brands are Mitchell Lurey and Vandoren), reed guard, cork

grease, and cleaning swab.

SAXOPHONES: 3 working reeds at all times (beginners-size 2, all

others size 2 ½ to 3 – recommended brands are Mitchell Lurey

and Vandoren), a reed guard, cork grease, cleaning swab, mouth-

piece brush, and neckstrap.

TRUMPET: valve oil, tuning slide grease, mouthpiece, cleaning

cloth, and mouthpiece brush.

FRENCH HORN: tuning slide grease, rotary oil, polishing cloth,

mouthpiece and snake.

TROMBONE: slide cream, slide oil, cleaning cloth, mouthpiece, and

mouthpiece brush.

EUPHONIUM (BARITONE): valve oil, tuning slide grease, mouth-

piece, cleaning cloth, and snake.

TUBA: valve oil, mouthpiece, tuning slide grease, mouthpiece

brush, and cleaning cloth.

PERCUSSION: stick bag, practice xylophone, 1 pair of yarn mallets

for use with xylophone or marimba, practice marimba or bell set

for home practice, drum sticks (size 5A), and practice pad
