How To Reach DamanDaman and Diu union territory is perched between Maharashtra, Gujarat and the exotic blue Arabian Sea, Daman is

a place thriving on its rich cultural and historical legacy, awesome weather, sun-kissed beaches and greenery all

around. It is a hit among honeymooners, backpackers, students, large groups etc. Daman is classified into Nani

Daman and Moti Daman. It is popular for the fresh sea food and different kinds of liquor it offers. Tourists flock to

Daman for beholding places like the Mirasol Lake Garden, Jampore Beach, Cathedral of Bom Jesu, St Jerome Fort

and Devka Beach. Artists from Mumbai and around the country have favoured Daman and Diu for movie and TV

serial shoots. Being a tourist-friendly place, Daman is well-connected to other major Indian cities by air, road and rail.

Wondering how to reach Daman? Ahead, the information you need.

By Air:The Daman airport, located at a distance of 3 kilometres from the heart of Daman, is not like a typical commercial

airport, but it is mainly used as the military airbase. Nonetheless, it has daily flights to and fro Mumbai and Baroda.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai is located at a distance of 170-190 kilometres. All major

airlines like Jet Airways, Air Deccan, Spice Jet, Kingfisher airlines operate regular number of flights to and fro

Mumbai. Tourists can also board flights to Diu from Porbandar and Mumbai. The second best option to reach Daman

and Diu is to reach Bhavnagar or Porbandar by flight and then take a bus, car or taxi via road to the final destination.

By Train:The nearest located railway station is at Vapi which is 12 kilometres away from Daman. Ahmedabad and Mumbai are

the two railway station of the western railways which are very close to Daman. Daman is well-connected with all the

major cities of the country such as Mumbai, Delhi, Dehradun, Jaipur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Amritsar,

Ernakulam, Jammu and Kalka. Superfast, passenger as well as express trains run through these railway stations to

reach Daman.

By Road:Several state-owned and privately-owned buses play from Daman to the neighbouring city of Surat situated at a

distance of 110 kilometres. Tourist can also easily travel from Mumbai to Daman (180 kilometres) by bus. An excellent

network of road connects Daman and Diu to other parts of India. The National Highway number 8 is used to connect

Daman by the motorable road with Ahmedabad ,Vadodara and Mumbai among other Indian cities.

Shopping in Daman and DiuAlthough Daman and Diu is not a typical shopping destination, still shopping in Daman and Diu can be a cool

experience.

Daman is particularly noted for Customs Shops selling seized foreign goods in attractive prices.If you are keen on shopping in Daman and Diu, you can look for : Leather slippers Woven of bamboo mats and baskets You can find Electronic goods, Gift articles, attractive household appliances for shopping in Daman and Diu. Maharaja Super Market, Princess Park at Devka Beach are renowned shopping areas, which offer good shopping

in Daman and Diu. Regular beach items like goods made of seashell, oysters etc are also available at Devka Beach, Nani Daman.
