The CRYSTALL SABIANAelectrostatic filter matches theneed for better air conditioningwith the concepts of space anddesign. With this filter the various stagesof air treatment are combined in

    CARBON FILTER

On request, the carbon filter canalso be fitted in the electrostaticfilter section. It is highlyefficent for the purification of theair from gaseous pollutants andodours.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OFTHE ELECTROSTATIC FILTERCRYSTALL SABIANA

The air is sucked in and first

    passes a mechanical prefilter,which keeps away particles ofmore than 50 m (dust, insects,etc.)(Phase 1)

Then the smallest particles (50 0.01 m) are exposed to an

intensive ionic field and arepolarized.(Phase 2)

    Ventilation and air change

It is generally understood, that themore fresh air introduced indoors

the better the indoor air quality willbe. However, this implies anincrease in energy costsnecessary to keep comfortableenvironmental conditions. In addition the external air qualitymust be controlled year round inorder to avoid a pollutantconcentration that can jeopardize

human health, when introducedindoor through ventilation.

The use of the CRYSTALLElectrostatic Filter dramaticallyreduces the external air intakewhich, in turn, provides asignificant energy saving andreduces health risks.

The air treated by an Ocean air-conditioner fitted with anelectrostatic filter usually has aconcentration of pollutingmicroparticles lower than theexternal air concentration, whichimproves the indoor air quality.

The U.S. agencies EPA, OSHA,and the ASHRAE 62-89 Standard

set an external air intake minimumvalue of only 2.5/3L/s per person. This quantity of external air canguarantee a sufficient salubrityrate for the occupants, providedthat there are no specific indoorsources of pollutants (ie tobacco, smoke, special activities).

With these recommended valuesfor external air intake and with anOCEAN air-conditioner equippedwith a suitably sized electrostaticfilter, a high quality of indoor airand comfort level can beobtained.

The table below gives a simpleindication of the size of theOCEAN air-conditioner, fitted withthe electrostatic filter, required tofunction efficiently in variousinstallation situations.
