STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Join us on Fridays during Lent at 7 pm in the church for Stations of the Cross.
The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day on earth,
beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini
pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the
individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day.
BAPTISMAL PREPARATION CLASS The next class is May 1 at 7pm Room
117. Call the office (615-893-1843) to register.

early morning hours with no adorer have been filled. There are still hours needing
a second adorer. Please see bulletin board in Narthex or website for those
times. Again, thank you!!

HOLY WEEK
If we are not careful, Holy Week can become just like any other
week, and all of a sudden it's Easter. Please make an effort to
set aside Holy Week as a holy week. Hey, even the State of
Tennessee recognizes Good Friday as a holiday! So what do I
mean by keeping a good Holy Week?
First, mark your calendars to come to the Holy Week liturgies.
They are profound and moving. If you really can't come to
everything, then come to as much as you can. See the bulletin or website for the
times.
Pray more. I especially recommend reading the account of the Passion from the
Gospels. Just by coming to the liturgies, you get St. Luke's Passion on Palm
Sunday and St. John's on Good Friday. Maybe listen to the setting of St.
Matthew's Passion by Bach. It's in German, but you will get it anyhow. It is one
of my favorite pieces of music. Watch the movie the Passion of the
Christ. Things like that which will keep you focused on Jesus in His "hour" of
suffering.
Fast when you should and can, especially on Good Friday. It will make the
celebrations of Easter all the more joyful. Give what you save to the poor. For
one week, try to forget about yourself and rather focus on Him.
Faithfully,
Fr. Baker

MINISTERIO HISPANO
SEMANA SANTA
profundas y conmovedoras.

HAITI UPDATE: Shipment of goods to send to Haiti: Fr. Andre has asked us not
to send clothing to Haiti this year as the market is flooded with donations and
vendors are having a tough time in the markets. Instead, he has asked us to
send funds to purchase supplies, which supports the Haitian economy. We want
to be working with our sister parish to become more self-assured and
independent of handouts. Here is a partial list of items he requests: new
children’s socks (red, sizes 9-3 and white, size 4-7); new shoes, sandals, flip-
flops in any size; new backpacks; new or gently-used ball caps; sunglasses;
chalkboard erasers; chalk; bath towels; ball pumps and inflating needles.
Collection of items on April 27 & 28 in the Jo Call Room: Monetary
donations for: over-the-counter medications, school supplies, garden seeds and
plants and pig feed. We will have jars displayed in which to put your donations. If
you want your donation to be tax-deductible, please use a check made out to St.
Rose Church and note Haiti in the memo line. Thank you for all your support
throughout the year. We support the Clinic, Maternity Center, School, Church,
the gardens and pig farming. We feed a nutritious meal to 500 children each
day. We do make a difference in this village called Robillard in Haiti for the past
16 years.
