A.D. 1788" in the.exergue. Rev.: the house in
which his headquarters was located during the seige
of Sebastopol. Inscr.: "DIED IN THE SERVICE OF
HIS COUNTRY / AT HEADQUARTERS BEFORE SEBASTOPOL JUNE 23d 1855." Lloyd C. Sanders
writes in his biographic dictionary that Raglan was
appointed c.-in-c, being very old and having long
since left active service. Sanders writes: ’% ¯ ¯ and

not well in the Crimea . . . Lord Raglan felt bit- terly the charges brought against him and when the
