Basically, a detox is a dietary regi-men involving a change in consump-tion habits in an attempt to cleansethe body through the removal of tox-ins and other contaminants. Propo-nents claim it improves health, energy,resistance to disease, mental health

and digestion, as well as aiding inweight loss.

Sucu argued in favor of the impor-tance of colonic hydrotherapy. Thecolon is said to be the second brain,and therefore needs appropriate care.Colon hydrotherapy, said Sucu, is asafe, gentle infusion of warm, filteredwater into the rectum, using nochemicals or drugs.

Advocates say it is a restorative,painless procedure which is highly ef-fective and beneficial. Colon hy-drotherapy is said to cleanse theentire colon of built-up and old waste,without causing stress to the individ-ual.

The machine for the purpose in-cludes disposable components whichare supposed to eliminate any possi-ble contamination, and is a purpose-built closed system in which wastematerial is eliminated through the in-strument to a drain line, avoiding anyoffensive odor.

The procedure was conceived forindividuals with fine and deep wrin-kles, to rebuild volume in the cheeksthat has been lost due to age, for thenasolabial fold, to redefine and aug-ment the lips, as well as to correctskin depressions and post-acne facialscars.

The injection procedure is flexiblebecause the product can be chosen tohave a viscosity suitable to the area tobe treated.

A product with a longer action (9-12 months) is used for the cheeks, lips

and nasolabial folds, while one withlower viscosity is appropriate for finewrinkles in order to achieve a naturalintegration with the skin so its pres-ence will not be noticed upon palpa-tion, said Curea. The treatment costsfrom RON 1,600.

The doctor went onto describe the treatment of wrinkles with botulinum toxin – a neuromuscularblocking agent obtained from a bacte-ria named Clostridium botulinum –better known as botox.

Costs start from RON 900. The final topic was the treatment of elastosis and stretch marks through skin bio-revitalization withJalupro.

According to Curea, this procedureinvolves the injection of a solutionthat contains a combination ofhyaluronic acid and four amino acids (glycine, proline, lysine,leucine) that play a role in rebuilding the existing collagen and stimulating the process of collagenosis and skin hydration,

thus improving the tone and elasticityof the skin.

This dermatological procedurecosts RON 800.

Treatments for fatty tissue includebody remodeling by laser-assistedlipolysis, a technique that can addressproblem areas that traditional liposuction solves by an invasivemethod.

The technique consists of a verysmall tube, a cannula, which is in-serted into the skin through a smallincision.

Then, a laser bundle is transmittedthrough an optical fiber along thecannula and liquefies the fatty tissue

in the treated area, removing itthrough the same incision.

It can be used on the neck, ab-domen, thighs, buttocks, breast lineand arms. Prices range from RON2,500 to RON 12,500, for a completeabdomen liposuction.

Curea also told attendees howradio frequency technology allows

non-invasive and pain-free treatmentof teguments in various areas of thebody.

The procedure acts by graduallyheating the skin areas with effects on the deep and superficial structures,and is used mainly for cellulite, fat reduction, pore reduction, post-liposuction treatments, skin rejuvenation, improvement of the texture of the skin and dark circles.

Prices range from RON 200 to RON475, depending on the part of thebody being treated.
