Niños de Santa Teresa en la Escuela Católica San José de Bryan, TX. Desde hace un tiempo intentaba como Pastor de Santa Teresa tener acceso a la Escuela Católica San José que funciona aquí en Bryan. Quería tener un grupo grande de niños que nos representaran recibiendo Educación Católica. Hoy este sueño se hace realidad gracias a la colaboración de muchas personas y organizaciones que hicieron de puentes y colocaron los mejores esfuerzos para que esto se hiciera realidad. Hoy empezaron sus estudios 20 niños que gustosos y con muchas expectativas junto con el esfuerzo de sus padres aceptaron este reto de ser los primeros niños inscritos en este programa y así en un futuro vengan más. Gracias a estas familias, gracias a Padre Brian Eilers Pastor de la Parroquia San José, gracias a la Administración de la Escuela. Un agradecimiento especial a nuestra familia que nos representa en el Consejo de la Escuela Católica, Erick e Irma Moreno Profesores de la Universidad A & M, quienes han colocado todo de sí para ver realizado este sueño. Gracias a la Administradora de la Parroquia Santa Teresa, Betty Turner y sobre todo un agradecimiento especial a Padre Mark Hamlet Pastor de la Parroquia Sagrado Corazón en Austin quien con su asistencia de Becas “Our Kids at Heart” estarán beneficiando a nuestros niños económicamente. Pido a todos Ustedes sus oraciones y plegarias para que este programa siga dando frutos en nuestra comunidad y siga siendo de beneficio para muchas más familias en la educación de nuestros niños. As Pastor of Santa Teresa’s Parish, I have for quite some time wanted our parishioners to have access to St. Joseph Catholic School that operates here in Bryan. I wanted to have a large group of children from our perish to have an opportunity to receive a Catholic Education. Today this dream becomes a reality thanks to the collaboration of many people and organizations that functioned as advocates for our children and perish to make this a reality. Today 20 children began their Catholic Education who gladly and with great enthusiasm along with their parents’ dedication have accepted this challenge of being the first students to represent our perish and I hope that many more children join in the future. I want to thank these families, Father Brian Eilers’ Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, and the school administration. A special thanks to the family that represents Santa Teresa in the Board of the Catholic School Erick and Irma Moreno who are professors at Texas A&M University and have put forth significant effort to make this dream come true. I would like to give thanks the Administrator of Santa Teresa Betty Turner and a very special thanks to Father Mark Hamlet, Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Austin for his assistance in this scholarship "Our Kids at Heart" that will benefit our children financially. Vivimos en un país que defiende la separación entre Iglesia y Estado. ¿Cuál es el papel de los católicos en la sociedad? El papel de la Iglesia en el mundo ha tomado diferentes formas a lo largo del tiempo, pero el tema es el mismo. ¡Sed discípulos en ella! Como fieles laicos, es decir, no sacerdotes o religiosos con votos, estamos llamados a vivir y amar en las circunstancias de nuestra vida diaria. San Juan Pablo II escribió un documento sobre los laicos. En él escribió: "En su situación en el mundo, Dios manifiesta su plan y les comunica su vocación particular de buscar el Reino de Dios comprometiéndose en los asuntos temporales y ordenándolos según el plan de Dios" (Sobre los miembros laicos de los fieles de Cristo, 15).

¡Dios quiere que estemos en los hospitales, las salas de juntas, los despachos de abogados, las despensas de alimentos y los juegos de las ligas menores! Debemos involucrarnos en los asuntos del mundo. Pero cuando estemos allí, debemos vivir el plan de Dios. Necesitamos respetar a quienes nos rodean, participar en prácticas comerciales y legales justas y amar a nuestros hijos. Debemos cuidar la tierra, usar nuestro dinero sabiamente y conocer a nuestros vecinos. Debemos abogar por políticas sociales que res-peten la dignidad humana y la libertad humana. No importa nuestro estado en la vida, ¡estamos invitados a construir el reino de Dios!

VIVIR LA LITURGIA

Muchas personas dan su lealtad a algo hasta que les pide que hagan algo desafiante o radical. Luego, se encuentran reconsiderando si quieren asociarse con eso. Lo mismo vale para Dios. O servimos a Dios o no. No puede haber una postura tibia con respecto a la fe. Si estamos dentro, entonces la fe en Jesucristo nos pide que hagamos algunas cosas difíciles: trabajar al servicio del reino de Dios, amar a nuestros enemigos, no ofrecer resistencia al agravio y confiar en que la Eucaristía es de hecho el mismo Cuerpo y Sangre de Jesús. Para algunos, aceptar estas cosas puede resultar demasiado difícil y se prefiere volver a una vida sin ellas. Pero la verdad es la verdad y solo se puede encontrar en Dios. Si nos resulta difícil aceptarla de la boca de Cristo, ¿a dónde más podemos ir para encontrarla? La tarea que tenemos ante nosotros es comprometernos con la verdad incluso cuando sea más fácil perseguir otra cosa. La verdad siempre vale la pena obtener incluso cuando es difícil. Jesús nos ofrece la verdad de la vida, una vida que se encuentra en su propia carne y sangre y una vida de discipulado. @LPi

ADORACIÓN Y MEDITACIÓN

MEDITACIÓN EVANGÉLICO Alentando el Entendimiento mas profundo de la Escritura 21er Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario Lo que pasó en tiempos de Jesús, sigue pasando hoy día. Muchos le abandonan por cualquier bagatela, se dejan engañar fácilmente y hablan en contra de él y de su Evangelio. Inclusive algunos piensan que seguirle es de tontos. Pues, deja decirte Señor, que yo también reacciono como Pedro ante la pregunta: “¿Quieren marcharse también ustedes?” (Juan 60:67). El lenguaje duro utilizado por Jesús los desconcertaba. Seguirte no es fácil; el camino de tus enseñanzas provoca un cambio radical con referencia a la justicia y al amor. Solo el que entienda tu lenguaje puede responder como Pedro: “Señor, ¿A quién iríamos? Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna. Nosotros creemos y sabemos que tú eres el Santo de Dios” (Juan 60:67-69). Ahora bien, con tantas experiencias vividas en este año pasado (2020), muchas personas se han dado cuenta qué vacía y sin sentido es la vida llevada a la ligera. Nos hemos dado cuenta que la ambición de tener y vivir corriendo no vale la pena. Lo que cuenta es tener una vida unida a Ti, por la oración y la entrega a los demás, y es una gran bendición el comprenderlo y ponerlo a prueba. El ser humano se ha dado cuenta que lo que sí vale la pena es la salud para poder trabajar y llevar la comida a la mesa familiar. El Papa Francisco nos lleva aún más allá: “Qué difícil es perdonar siempre a quienes nos hieren. Qué desafiante es acoger siempre al inmigrante y al extranjero. Qué doloroso es soportar la desilusión, el rechazo, la traición” (8/26/18). Mantra para esta semana: ¡Tú tienes palabras de vida eterna! ©LPi

READINGS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 19, 2020

Have you ever experienced awe? Awe is commonly defined as a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder. A moment of awe has the ability to lift us up out of ourselves and immerse us into something that causes us to wonder about ourselves, the meaning of life, and truth. Awe is an experience of connection that links us to something that is beyond the normal happenings of life.

LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK

For us who believe that the resurrected Christ is present in all of life and the totality of the universe, being touched by awe can lead us to exclaim, “My Lord and my God!” Pondering the vast-ness of God’s presence also brings us to a profound sense of God’s mercy, which is the showering of His unconditional love on each of His daughters and sons. When we internalize this mys-tery, we may find ourselves standing in awe once again and feel-ing an intense sense of peace.

First Reading: They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. GOSPEL MEDITATION Encourage Deeper Understanding of Scripture A person was going through a very dark time, questioning the meaning of life, not feeling very purposeful or worthwhile, and feeling disconnected and unappreciated. Suddenly, they gazed up at the night sky, found themselves in awe of all the stars and constellations, and exclaimed, “I am here on purpose and I am loved!” Having been brought by God to this moment of intense connection and awareness, his life changed from that moment on. If we are always preoccupied with the challenges, obligations, and stuff of daily life, we can easily miss the wonderful opportunities when the resurrected Christ is knocking at our door. If we open ourselves to the fullness of experience, we will find ourselves listening and embracing all that is around us, being caught up in the magnificence of creation’s grandeur and knowing in our heart and soul that God is and I am. While that sounds like a simple, tell-me-something-I don’t-know kind of revelation, it is life changing when it takes root in the depth of a person’s soul. Stumbling upon this awesome truth and internalizing it doesn’t require an assent of the mind. It beckons for a claim on our soul. We find ourselves knowing something profound that cannot be explained or reasoned, but purely is. When we are caught up in an experience and encounter the truth, it doesn’t matter how all of the pieces got put together. Truth is simply truth. The “my Lord and my God” responses we utter are not evoked because all of the pieces of faith and life make reasonable sense. The “my Lord and my God” affirmations come when we are lifted up out of our preoccupations and silliness and are in the presence of mystery and mercy. God is mystery, one who is beyond our grasp but at the same time within our reach, knowable yet unknowable. And when in the presence of mystery, there comes an intense experience of mercy. We know deep within the essence of ourselves — and in the very life of creation — this beating, unconditionally accepting, life-sustaining, profound, mysterious yet familiar presence of love. We have found our peace. “Peace be with you.” Breathe in and breathe out. Peace.

1. Acta de Nacimiento 2. Comprobante de Matrimonio Religioso de los Padrinos 3. Niños mayores de 7 años, tienen que ir a la formación del CCD 4. Pláticas de bautismo o comprobante 5. No niños en las pláticas. 6. Llegar puntual. Si alguien llega tarde al sacramento, se recorre para la siguiente semana. 7. Tenemos que tener todos los requisitos mínimo 2 semanas antes de la fecha que aparto. Sin documentos no podemos registrar. Requisitos para Primera Comunión:

1. Tener su comprobante de Bautizo 2. Debe tener al menos 6 años cumplido o estar en el grado 1 de la escuela.

Requisitos para Confirmación:

1. Tener su comprobante de Bautizo y Primera Comunión. 2. Deben tener al menos 14 anos o estar en grado 9 de la escuela

Requisitos para Quinceañeras:

1. Tener los Sacramentos de Bautizo, Primera Comunión y estar inscrita en el programa de Confirmación. 2. Separar la fecha al menos 6 meses de anticipación.

Proceso y requisitos para tramite de Bodas:

Documentos con fecha reciente, no mas de un año

1. Acta de Bautismo. 2. Acta de Confirmación. 3. Los que ya están casados por lo civil traer copia del acta de la boda. 4. Los que no están casados por lo civil ir a la corte 20 días antes de la boda y pedir una licencia de matrimonio y traerla a la oficina. 5. Pedir cita con el Sacerdote, mínimo 6 meses antes de separar la fecha. 6. Reunión con el Sacerdote donde se fijara el día de la Boda, se pedirán los documentos y se definirá la ceremonia que quiera la pareja. 7. Nueva cita con el Padre para traer los documentos y llenar las formas. 8. La oficina les llamara para la cita para el ensayo. 9. Una semana antes los contrayentes tienen que confesarse para que puedan recibir la comunión el día de su boda. 10. Para el día de la misa, necesitara Coro, que será responsabilidad de la pareja buscar el adecuado a sus deseos. Unción de los enfermos 1. Llamar al Sacerdote cuando la persona este en peligro de muerte.

Baptism Requirements:

1. Child’s Birth Certificate

2. Sponsors: Church Marriage Certificate

3. Children older than 7 years, have to attend to CCD

4. Parents and Sponsors have to take a baptismal class

5. No children allowed in the baptismal class

6. If someone arrives late on the baptism date, it will be scheduled for the next Saturday.

7. We have to have all the requirements at least 2 weeks before the date. Without documents we cannot register.

First Communion Requirements:

1. Have proof of Baptism 2. Must be at least 6 years old or be in grade 1 of the school.

Confirmation Requirements:

1. Have your proof of Baptism and First Communion. 2. Must be at least 14 years old or in grade 9 of school

Quinceañeras Requirements

1. Have the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and be enrolled in the Confirmation program. 2. Set the date at least 6 months in advance.

Wedding Requirements:

3. Those who are already civilly married bring a copy of the wedding certificate.

4. Those who are not civilly married go to court 20 days before the wedding and ask for a marriage license and bring it to the office.

5. 6 months in advance of the wedding, request an Appointment with the Priest.

6. Meeting with the Priest where the wedding day will be fixed, the documents will be requested and the ceremony that the couple wants will be defined.

7. New appointment with the Father to bring the documents and fill out the forms.

8. The office will call you to schedule the appointment for the rehearsal.

9. A week before the contracting parties have to confess so that they can receive communion on their wedding day.

10. For the day of mass, you will need a Choir, which will be the responsibility of the couple to find the right one for their wishes.
