DAY 2 Rome Breakfast at the hotel. A morning departure for a walking tour, the tour will start from Largo Argentina and continue to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the tour will end at the Spanish Steps. Return to hotel by your own means. Afternoon and evening is at leisure. Accommodation in Rome. DAY 3 Rome • Assisi • Siena • Florence 382 km Breakfast box (must be requested at the reception the night before). Pick up at your hotel and depart for Assisi to visit the mystic town of Saint Francis still surrounded by ancient fortified walls. Visit the Basilica of Saint Francis with its early Renaissance masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. At the end of the visit, continue towards Siena, the beautiful medieval city renowned for the Palio Horse race. Proceed to Florence. Supper and accommodation in Florence. DAY 4 Florence After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a guided visit of the birthplace of the Renaissance. Visit the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John and Santa Croce, the 13th century Franciscan Church with Cimabue’s famous crucifix. DAY 5 Florence • Padova • Venice 270 km Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Venice, passing by Padova for a visit of the famous Cathedral of Saint Anthony, guarded by Donatello’s “Gattamelata”. Continue towards Venice for a panoramic guided walking tour of this unique city and admire St. Mark’s Square and the Basilica (exterior), the Doge’s Palace (exterior), the Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons (exterior). Supper and accommodation in Venice. DAY 6 Venice • Rome 523 km Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by boat to cross the lagoon and admire the islands from the canal. Upon reaching the island of Murano you will assist a glass blowing demonstration (free time will be allowed for shopping).
