The Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce was established in 1983, as a broad-based organization that strives to improve the commercial climate of the City, to promote planned economic and community development, and to make the greater Bowie community a better place to live and work.

The foundation of the Chamber is its growing and diverse membership, which accomplishes the aims of the organization by volunteer service on its board and standing committees. Welcome to the 2012-2013 Edition of the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Guide. We hope that you will find it to be a valuable resource whether Bowie is your home or your place of business.

Greater Bowie is the heart of the region’s economy. When families go shopping, they come to Bowie. When couples

are looking for a white tablecloth culinary experience, they come to Bowie. When nationally-recognized companies look for a corporate headquarters location, they come to Bowie.

The Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce is the voice of the business community in this area. Our members advocate on behalf of business interests. We network to foster our business contacts. Bowie has been my home for just about all of my life. My wife and I bought our home from my parents because we knew it was the best community in which to raise a family. The Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome you to our organization and to provide you with your annual Business & Community Guide. The directory is a valuable tool for businesses in the community, as well as residents and visitors. The Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce is the organization of choice for business advocacy in the greater Bowie area. We accomplish this by: • Developing a legislative forum that benefits area businesses; • Supporting educational programs for the greater Bowie community, including Youth Leadership Bowie and the Women in Business scholarship program; • Creating marketing and networking opportunities for our members, including the Bowiefest ‘Home & Health Expo’, After Hours Business Mixers on the second Wednesday of each month, and various breakfast and luncheon events throughout the year. • Providing opportunities for our members to be involved making a difference by serving on a Chamber committee or through volunteer opportunities in the community.
