CHAPTER 1 : INTROgdgDUCTION

Industrial Training module is a main component in the learning curriculum for

Polytechnic of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Industrial training is

one of the compulsory courses for every polytechnic student under the

Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia. Every student bounds to be

involved in industrial training for one hole semester in order for him or her to

get his or her diploma certificate.

1.1 Preliminary

The industrial training as carried out at a firm or an organi!ation

hether the students choose it or it is given to them for one hole semestar.

The main purpose of the industrial training is to produce graduates ho are

ready and capable to face their profession academically or non"academically

ith a high professionalism appearance.

Other than that# the industrial training e$poses the students about the

real situation of the or%ing class citi!en. The industrial training also helps in

developing social s%ills in the students.

1.2 Industrial Training Objective

&.'.& To e$pose the students to the real life or%ing e$perience and

e$panding the %noledge in their specific field.

i. tudents ill further learn about their real life profession.

They ill also learn hat they need to do in order to

finish their or%s. This ill prepare the students so that

they ill easily fit in and fulfill the demands of their

profession after they finish their course.

&.'.' To ma%e use of the theory and learned in the polytechnic.

i. tudents are only e$posed to the basic theory and needed in the

fields of their on. These theory and ere mainly according to the

boo%s. ith the industrial training in place# students ill e$perience

real life situation in the field. This ill ma%e the students use their

%noledge in order to get their or%s done.

to cooperate ith other staffs.

a sense of trustorthy and full responsibility. This attitude

very important to ensure all business entrusted to

students to be honest not only to themselves but others

variety of problems and had to face it. ith the

students.

ith upper management such as engineer# director and

consultant and others. ith this opportunity# student ill

be able to associate and discuss ith them in a closer

implication of industrial training. This opportunity should

be used ell by the students to learn more.

1.4 Importance of Industrial Training

aspects. This is because this module as created to give

benefit to students# especially students ho ta%e up studies in

polytechnic 4PTM. +mong the importance is2

i. To produce employees that are fully disciplined after they

have graduated from the polytechnic 4PTM. This can be

seen through the students ho ta%e part in the industrial

training# they are not only bound to the rules set by the

polytechnic but also rules fi$ed by the organi!ation that

students ta%e their industrial training at.ii. To produce employees that are s%illful and ready to or%

hen they ta%e their first step to the or%ing orld. This

is because by involving in certain industrial training at the

organi!ation given to them# student ill be more s%illful in

carrying out a 1ob after they ere e$plained on ho to do
