EXAMPLE: YMCA PALESTINEY-YOUTH CLUB OR LITTLE CITIZEN PROJECT

• Addressed issue: Passive young citizens, stereotyped perception ofgender roles

• Goals: empower youth to active citizens/leaders to take part in achievingpeace in Palestine

• How: Awareness activities, summer camps, advocacy programs and workshops focusing on the participation of girls at different decicion-making levels

• Results: 8000 youth in Palestine have been empowered and taken steps towards an active citizenships and transformed their perception ofgender roles

UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 2250 ON:

UNSCR 2250 on Youth Peace and Security was adopted by the UN Security Council in 2015.It is the first UN Resolution that recognises and highlights the role of young people as key actors

maintaining and promoting international peace and security.

The UNSCR 2250 is built around five interdependent pillars:

Ensure the protection of young people’s lives and humans rights andprosecute those

responsible for crimesperpetrated against them.
