RE: Bid No. 2013-14-08 “Detention Pond and Reconstruction of Sugarcane Dr -
Mile 6 W Rd (Westgate Dr) to Mile 5.5W Rd (Border Rd)”
Dear Mr. Hinojosa:
Five contractors submitted bids for above captioned Bid No. as follows:
Bidder Base Bid Add on Bid 1 Add on Bid 2 TOTAL
Texas Cordia Construction LLC $371,549.80 $316,492.20 $35,958.00 $724,000.00
M-5 Texas Enterprises, LLC $475,849.22 $450,950.95 $58,461.00 $985,261.17
2GS, LLC $600,897.80 $466,761.80 $44,475.00 $1,112,134.60
Saenz Brothers Construction, LLC $640,943.60 $463,757.90 $38,051.00 $1,142,752.50
Salinas Construction Technologies Ltd $734,430.63 $455,261.50 $64,308.39 $1,254,000.52
Engineer's Estimate $543,280.14 $423,338.88 $57,530.00 $1,024,149.02
An error was found in M-5 Texas Enterprises, LLC Add on Bid 2. Error did not impact
apparent low bid. Note that copies of the bid documents submitted to TEDSI for bid
evaluation were missing the following documents: Addendum 1: 2GS LLC. Addendum 2:
M-5 Texas Enterprises LLC, 2GS LLC and Salinas Construction Technologies Ltd. Bid
Bond: M-5 Texas Enterprises LLC and 2GS LLC. The lack of Bid Bond and Addendum
does not impact the apparent low bidder.
Texas Cordia Construction LLC is the apparent low bidder on Base Bid, Add on Bid 1
and Add on Bid 2. Apparent low bids are lower than Engineer’s Estimate on the Base
Bid, Add on Bid 1 and Add on Bid 2. It is our recommendation that City of Weslaco
award Base Bid ($371,549.80), Add on Bid 1 ($316,492.20) and Add on Bid 2
(35,958.00) to Texas Cordia Construction LLC for a total of $724,000.00
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
TEDSI INFRASTRUCTURE GROUP INC
