Description:An inspirational montage made by the blending of two or more imagesand the use of typography.

Date:10/19/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Adobe Photoshop

Objective:Learn to manage Photoshop layers.Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.Use filters.Apply appropriate typography.

Process:There is a quote that I really love that I knew I had to use. It is: Faith is the power, Love is the reason, Prayer is the means and Forever is the promise. I started with using this quote and trying different font types with adding different effects. I knew I wanted Christ to be the central image. I tried different photos to compliment him without adding clutter that does not add to the message. I combined the images and quote to a parchment background. I added effects and color to the text. I then blended the images into the background.

Description:A webpage mockup created in Photoshop.

Date:11/16/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Adobe Photoshop

Objective:Create a webpage mockup that fits the needs of the customer.

Process:I had a much better plan going into this project having some experience designing webpages. I began to set work creating how the site would look. I was limited by the things that I still did not know how to do in Photoshop yet I would know how to do coding in HTML and CSS. I took effort to add social links and buttons to add to the look of the site. I decided to use cards for the genres/categories showcased on the main page. The cards held info about the genre/category. I used a soft background color to make the site easier on the eyes. I couldn’t figure out how to do drop shadows the way I like with the cards so I had to leave them without them. I created a nice footer for the page to wrap everything up and to inlcude some repetition.

Description:An infographic presenting some basic information about the main Pokemon Games.

Date:11/2/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Adobe Illustrator

Objective:Create an Infographic that present information professionally and in a visually appealing way.

Process:I wanted to have fun with presenting information and so I decided to go with Pokemon on this one. I made a timeline presenting the games from the first main games up until the upcoming games released in November of 2016. I included the console the game is released on, the amount of Pokemon introduced in the generation, the total number of Pokemon up to that point and the amount of copies sold. I labeled the connecting lines with the year of the generation of Pokemon. I decided to end the timeline with Pikachu, the ‘mascot’ of Pokemon giving a wave at the end of the graphic.

Description:Matching letterhead and business card designed using a personally created logo.

Date:10/25/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Adobe IllustratorAdobe InDesign

Objective:Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.Design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.Use the basic tools of Illustrator & InDesign.

Process:For this I used Ragnar Lodbrok as my contact info on the card. I fit a picture of him with his name above the picture. I included contact info separated by little axes. At the bottom I used the slogan in red and the green bar. For this one I put the bard at the very bottom for the cards. in this case I felt they looked better at the very bottom. The otther side of the card I included the logo centered in the card. I then put the ravens on either side of the logo with the left side flipped so they would mirror each other.

Objective:Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.Design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.Use the basic tools of Illustrator & InDesign.

Process:I darkened the text for the logo I had created. I then had to play around with the layout. I decided to use an image of ravens flying to bring interest to the letterhead. They guide the eye down the page and at the bottom I have a green line with a slogan above it in red. I didn’t want the green bar to be at the very bottom of the page as I liked how it looked with some white left at the bottom.

Description:Created a webpage using some basic HTML and CSS.

Date:11/9/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Google Developer ToolsFirefox Developer ToolsAtom Text Editor

Objective:Create a website using some basic HTML and CSS. Provide a visually appealing website.

Process:I was much more comfortable with this and was able to have some more fun since I have some experience in Web Development. I altered the code to have the main centered content feel more like paper by giving it a drop shadow. It was also very thin so I extended the width. Much of the body content was set up to be placed in bulleted lists. I removed the list tags in favor of paragraph tags. I edited a < /hr> tag so that it would be shorter in length and red. I included the call to action as a footer and even made a button that reacts to a hovering mouse by changing colors. This obviously can’t be seen in image but I had fun.

Description:A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.

Date:11/30/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Adobe IllustratorAdobe InDesignAdobe Photoshop

Objective:Create a folding brochure that has visual appeal and professional quality.

Process:This was interesting. I had a hard time thinking of an idea to use for the message. I decided to go with a story. A Norse Mythological story about how Odin became all-wise and all-knowing. I created a logo for the brochure. I did this by finding a new font for the name and created a Viking shield. The cover turned out great with two very interesting images that flowed to the center where the title was very nicely. I found some good images to portray Odin, Urd, and the Well of Urd. I included insights to the story in a light blue box at the bottom of the brochure. The back has flying ravens leading into some contact info and logo.

Description:An image hgihlighting the color scheme and presenting a message about Autumn and embracing change.

Date:10/11/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Adobe Photoshop

Objective:Photoshop an image and use some editing skills to highlight the color scheme in the Photo. Present a message.

Process:I went camping and was impressed by the beauty of changing seasons. I took a picture from the top of the mountain and with the idea of the greatness of change I began editing to present that message. I highlighted the intense colors of Autumn. I tried different ways to have the font. I ended up using a shaded box for the font to appear on.

Description:A presentation going over some basic parts in a computer and how they work.

Date:10/5/2016

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13Sister Tranberg

Programs Used:Prezi

Objective:Use Prezi to present information

Process:After brainstorming for ideas I decided to go with some basic parts of a computer. I used an empty case image and added each part in as an image. The presentation goes into the case and to each part separately giving some basic information about what each part does. I used a robot for the background holding the computer. I didn’t want a plain background and textures weren’t working for me. I felt this added to the message.
