Bott is a crew chief with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade's aviation combat element, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The Osprey provides a unique aspect to this operation due to its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, and its ability to convert quickly to fixed wing configuration, giving it increased speed and range. VILLAMOR AIR BASE, Republic of the Philippines— Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, U.S. service members and medical personnel from Makati Medical Center, lift an injured victim of Super Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda into an ambulance Nov. 18, at Villamor Air Base. Since the storm struck the Philippines, the U.S. military has been working with the Armed Forces of the Philippines to transport a majority of the now homeless citizens to the air base at large quantities each day. The injured personnel who are transported to the air base are given immediate medical attention and if needed, transported to the Makati Medical Center nearby.
