DESCRIPTIONA spritual montage poster

PROCESSI really love music, Relent K is a Christian rock band and the quote I used is a lyric from one of their songs called “Therapy.” So I took a picture of myself reading the scriptures, & used my fa-vorite photo of the Savior called “World without ends” I then blended these two images together to create a montage. 1. In Photoshop I combined all the various pictures I used to create the montage effect. I used a variety of layer masks and the brush tool to create the gradual blended effect.I took a snippet of the stars from the photo of the savior and added it around me and blended.2. I then added the quote, and played with the positioning as well as the type.3. I tried to use the design principles correctly, I focused a lot on flow.

DESCRIPTIONMade a brochure for ukulele lessons

PROCESS1. I first created the logo in Illustrator.2. Then I went into InDesign and started to design my brochure. I wrote my body copy and add-ed the body copy so I knew how I want it to fit.3. I saved the images as Photoshop documents so when I was in InDesign I could edit the origi-nal and it would open in Photoshop. Then I could edit the coloring, etc and it would automatically update the link in InDesign.4. I then exported the brochure document as JPEGS.5. Even though it wasn’t required, I placed the brochure in a mockup so it would be easy to see how it would look.

DESCRIPTIONMade a photodesign

PROCESSThe steps that I followed in my process were:

1. I had a photo taken from our previous activity that I really liked so I decided to use that one. I then picked a color scheme to match.2. For this photo, in photoshop I played a lot with the contrast as well as the vibrance. I really wanted to make the color of the rose pop so that I could showcase a quote relating to roses. This however didn’t workout as the rose pictured is a dry rose and doesn’t have much color left to it.3. I created a new 8.5 x 11 inch document in Photoshop.4. Then I pulled my photo on top of it and started designing.5. I cropped the picture to make it a circle. I wanted to create good flow. I added the lines to the bottom as well as the color scheme at the top which I also created circles for to create repeti-tion.

DESCRIPTIONDesign Magazine to show-case self

PROCESSThe tile of my magazine is “Design.” I’ve always enjoyed design in other forms like fashion and decorating. I’m really excited to learn about design in photoshop, illustrator, and indesign. And, also, how to properly apply the design principles. I first started off on this project by looking up different styles of magazines & seeing the various things that they all had in common. I took elements from a couple of them that I liked and used them to format my magazine. I then chose my tag-lines for my magazine based on interests that I have.

My process went as follows:

1.) I sketched out different Ideas that I had for the magazine cover. 2.) I then created a shape map in indesign.

3.) I then found a photo of myself that I could use for the cover.

4.)I put this image in photoshop, I then put a layer mask over the background because I thought it was a little distracting.

5.) I opened up Indesign, placed this image on an 8.5-11in art board and began to lay out my magazine cover. I used drop shadow to make the title and the body type stand out.

6.) I then added the articles.

DESCRIPTIONDesign a Prezi Presentation

PROCESSI have never used Prezi before so I looked up some examples of presentation and started from there. My process then went as follows

1. I brainstormed and googled and thought of an idea. I then though of a background that I could make. I sketched my idea.2. For my background I took a picture of my bedspread and added a filter to it through Insta-gram.I know it sounds funny and I also know that Prezi has backgrounds available but the filter that I found was called sleepy-time and I thought it fit really well. I also took a picture of our bed and use that for that main image.3. I then went to work creating my Prezi and adding the content and images.

DESCRIPTIONMake business logo with documents

PROCESS1. I first sketched out some ideas for the logo on paper. I had a lot of different options.2. After sketching, I opened up Illustrator and started creating some of my sketches digitally.3. I was using this opportunity to make mock up logos for my husband. He is a web developer so I tried to incorporate that into the logos.4. I got votes from around ten people, this helped me to decide which one I would choose.7. I chose the illustration logo and then created my letterhead and business card.8. I made sure to follow the rule of alignment and repetition.

DESCRIPTION

PROCESS1. It took me a while to come up with an idea for the topic of this project. The web development company my husband works for posted this cool website with statistics on Boise, Id. Since we live here and love it I decided to go with it.2. I looked at the website and decided to do the demographics portion of the website.3. I sketched out my ideas4. Next I opened up Illustrator and started on my Infographic.5. I created the pie charts and other graphics to organize the data.

DESCRIPTIONCreate a webpage

PROCESS1. First I created my logo in Illustrator. I made this as an Idea for my husband who is a web devel-oper.2. I resized my logo to be no longer than 500 px on the long side.3. I created my HTML file and started adding my content and tags.4. Then I created my CSS file and made sure to link it in the HTML code.5. I made customizations in my CSS to match the colors in my logo and changed the fonts to what I preferred.6. For my background I choose to use the same green color I used for my logo to create repeti-tion.7. I then made sure to validate my HTML and CSS.

DESCRIPTIONDesign a webpage

PROCESS1. I first picked an idea of what I was going to use for the basis of my website. I chose a web development site.adoption center I used in the previous project.2. I then started sketching an idea of how I wanted to lay it out..3. After I sketched it on paper, I then jumped into Photoshop and opened the 16-column grid. I started to create my wireframe to get me started.4. After my wireframe, I started to add the actual content.5. My final design ended up being a little different from my original sketch. This week has been pretty crazy so i’m not really very happy with this, but its a start.
