CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR ORDER OF ST. LOUIS
MEDALLION RECIPIENTS
The Order of St. Louis IX award was established in 1975 to honor
those laypersons who have contributed their time and talents to
the church. In the past 45 years, more than 10,000 men and wom-
en have received the medallion as a token of thanks for their
Christ-like service to the church.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond presented this years’ awards at St.
Catherine of Siena Church in Metairie on October 18, 2020.
Congratulations to JEAN ALICE BARTLEY and JUANITA
LEMOINE from St. Martha Parish and HOWARD and ADELE
ROBICHAUX from Infant Jesus of Prague on receiving this most
deserving honor.
A Nation’s Pra er
God our Father, giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for your glory and dwell among your peo-ple. Send your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation’s lead-ers. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing your will. Lead us into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen. ADVENT
The Sunday after Thanksgiving, we began a new Church
year with the start of Advent. The altar cloth
and vestments are purple as a sign of our
penitential preparation for Christ except for the
third week of Advent when the color is rose.
The four candles of the Advent wreath will
mark the four weeks of Advent waiting and
the countdown to Christmas.
A great way to experience “The Best Advent Ever” is to
Sign up for free daily video reflections on the Advent Gos-
pel readings with Matthew Kelly. To sign up go to Dynam-
ic Catholic.com.

Prayer for Protection & Healing from Coronavirus Lord Jesus, you traveled through towns and villages
“curing every disease and illness”. Come to our aid in the
midst of the coronavirus, that we may experience your
healing love. Heal those who are sick with the
virus; may they regain their strength and health.
Bring those who have died from the virus to eternal peace.
Protect doctors, nurses and health care professionals as
they help the sick. Guide researchers to develop a vaccine
Be with leaders of nations; give them wisdom to act with
true concern for their people. Stay by our side in this time
of uncertainty, anxiety and sorrow; grant us your peace.
We pray this in your most holy name, Jesus, for you are
our loving and healing Lord. Our Lady of Prompt Succor
& St. Martha pray for us. Amen.

Thank you to all who have supported me in my Eagle Scout Project. My project was a huge success and I appreciate everything everyone did to help me accomplish my goal to fill the food bank pantry
at Infant Jesus of Prague Church.
With support from family, friends and the community I was able to raise the following monetary funds that were used to purchase items that the pantry requested for them to provide to the 50-60 families they serve.
GoFundMe Account $800 Family, Friends and Community $405 Infant Jesus of Prague Parishioners $547 St. Martha’s Catholic Church Parishioners $531
Total Monetary Donations Received $2,283
In addition to the monetary donations received, I also collected an estimate of $2,300 plus of non-perishable food items through drop boxes at Infant Jesus of Prague, St. Martha’s Catholic Church and Fong’s Nails. I held
several drive-by food donation drop-offs for the community to bring non-perishable items.
Thank you to local company Jazzmen Rice, LLC for donating 2 cases of rice.
Thank you to United Healthcare for providing reusable bags for the pantry to use to distribute food to the families they currently serve.
Thank you to Troop 218 and Mr. Joe for allowing me to speak with his scouts and for their help in collecting non-perishables foods for my project.
Thank you to the Arden Cahill faculty, staff, students and their families for your donations of non-perishable food items to help with my Eagle Scout Service Project.
Thank you to Winn Dixie Store 1405, Brett, Tyler and the staff for their patience, support and help in our shopping adventures to purchase the food for the pantry with the monetary donations collected.
A special THANK YOU to all of my fellow Boy Scouts of Troop 217 who helped me accomplish my goal!
