Happy March everyone,

This week’s bulletin article is written from my mother’s kitchen table with an amazing

snow drift outside the patio door. After a bumpy slow drive over and what looks to be

a slow drive up to the Twin Cities for a meeting tonight, the weather makes its

presence felt here. In any case, it is good to spend some time with family before Lent

begins. That is right, this Wednesday is Ash Wednesday! The start to Lent gives us a

chance to adjust our spiritual life according to where we are at this year. As you look at

your health, work, family and spiritual life, where do you need to invest some time and

sacrificing? God wants to walk with you in what you are living this year and Lent is an

opportunity to invite Jesus to be with you right in that spot.

This Saturday March 9 we have our parish retreat here in Berry

Hall. If you are not finding it easy to see where God needs to

work in your life—like seeing that proverbial plank in your own

eye that Christ mentions in today’s Gospel—this morning of

prayer and reflection can be very helpful in finding that area

where you and God can work in your life. Please join us and see

what the Lord tells you!

Este sábado 9 de marzo tenemos nuestro retiro parroquial aquí en Berry Hall. Si no le

es fácil ver dónde necesita trabajar Dios en su vida, tal como ver esa viga en su propio

ojo que menciona Cristo en el Evangelio de hoy, esta mañana de oración y reflexión

puede ser muy útil para encontrar esa área en la que usted y Dios pueden trabajar en

su vida. ¡Por favor acompáñenos y descubra lo que el Señor quiere decirle!

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Prepare for Lent on Tuesday, March 5 from 8

AM to 5:30 PM in Our Lady of Guadalupe side

chapel. Lent begins on March 6 so to better

prepare ourselves for this holy season come

and spend some time listening to what Jesus

may be asking of you this Lent. We need

someone present during the entire adoration

time so if you can spend an hour with Jesus

please sign up on the sheet in the vestibule of

the church or call Mary at 473-6163 to

schedule a time. In addition to those who are

scheduled to pray, everyone is invited to come and

pray as your schedule allows.

Each month we include in our Eucharistic prayer,

prayers for the intentions written in the Book of

Intercessions which is located near the statue of the

Blessed Mother. If you have a special prayer request,

please write it in the book. Prayer materials for

adoration are available. Spend a quiet hour with

Jesus as we prepare for the Lenten season.

ADORACION EUCARISTICA Prepárese para la Cuaresma el martes 5 de

marzo de 8 a.m. a 5:30 p.m. en la capilla lateral

de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. La Cuaresma

comienza el 6 de marzo, así que, para

prepararnos mejor para esta temporada santa,

Sirach 27:4-7; Psalm 92: 2-3, 13-16; 1 Corinthians 15: 54-58; Luke 6: 39-45

The best way to truly get to know someone is to see how they speak and what comes out of their mouths.

When has there been a time where you realized someone’s true self after they spoke? Were you

disappointed? Did it change your mind about them?

The first letter to the Corinthians talks about how those who are devoted to the Lord will have victory over

death. When have you felt victorious because of your faith in God?

Jesus tells us to not be superior to one another and to check yourself before giving your advice to others.

When was there a time in your life that you felt you should have looked at yourself and what you were

doing before helping others? How do you get to know yourself better? Where do you think you are in the

stages of getting to know yourself, and how does your faith help you with the journey?
