120907 Official Communication ‐ MH Red Ramblers LIVE on Internet ‐ October Cradle Fundraiser ‐ MI Texas Hold 'Em Poker Registration  Official Communication for September 7, 2012   Are You Ready For Some Football?  Mooseheart Red Ramblers Streaming LIVE On The Internet!     Beginning with the 1st home football game this Saturday, September 8th at 1pm Central Time and continuing throughout the school year, you can now watch live, streaming video over the Internet of athletic and community events occurring at Mooseheart.   Go to www.IHSA.TV/Mooseheart and click on the "Upcoming" or "Live" tab and check in on your children at Mooseheart.  A link will also be provided on the Mooseheart home page, www.Mooseheart.org.  All home football games are currently scheduled to be broadcast live.      Saturday's game kicks off at 1pm Central Time, so don't miss the chance to see the defending Conference Champions and 2‐0 Red Ramblers take the field to battle Rockford Christian Life.   Annual October Cradle Fundraiser   The Cradle Fundraiser packets were mailed to the Lodges August 24!  Every Lodge should have received its packet last week.        Administrators ‐ please give information to the Governors, Senior Regents & Recorders.  Have a meeting to discuss how your Lodge/Chapter is going to proceed with this program.      This is an outstanding opportunity for every Lodge and Chapter to work together (or have a friendly competition) to have an outstanding October Cradle Fundraiser.  This needs constant attention throughout the month.        Please acquaint all bartenders, waiters, and waitresses with this program and ask them to promote it to each member who comes into the Lodge home.  Take up a 9 O'clock collection every evening ‐ give each donor a cradle (Chapter could have a different color) and ask each to write his/her name on it ‐ AND post it in a prominent place for all to see.  Please keep us posted by sharing pictures and ideas.  We are very interested in the various ways the program is promoted by your Lodge/Chapter.  Remember this is an Endowment Fund fundraiser.  Thank you for promoting this much‐needed boost to the Endowment Fund during the month of October.   Attached are the items that were included in the packet for your information ‐ just in case your packet was not received.

 <<5 Steps to a successful Cradle Fundraiser.doc>>  <<24x18poster_2013cradle.pdf>>  <<blank cradles more.pdf>> Please everyone ‐ let's make this month of October the greatest celebration of Mooseheart Founders Day in the history of the Moose.  REMEMBER:  IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME!!!   Number Of 2013 Moose International Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament Registrations Received Jumps This Week     This year's Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament will once again be held at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas.  Plan on arriving Sunday, January 6, 2013 for tournament check in and departing on Thursday, January 10th.      We experienced a spike in registrations during the past week.  That's good news in that the more that play, the more we pay!  Players wishing to ensure they are included in the January 7th morning session should register promptly.  After one of the January 7th sessions is filled all additional registrants will be assigned to the remaining session.      Last year 817 players competed for over $165,000 in prize money.  Pete Pipkin of Greenville, North Carolina took home the top prize of $16,000.      To register online or print registration materials visit:   http://www.mooseintl.org/portal/news/2013/2013‐TexasHoldem.asp

Steps to a successful Cradle Fundraiser Event.

Goal: Increase your Endowment Fund collections in the month of October by participating in the Cradle Fundraiser in your Social Quarters.

1. Communicate the need The Endowment Fund secures the future of Mooseheart & Moosehaven Every dollar counts towards the overall goal and assists the Lodge/Chapter in their goals.

2. Educate staff and volunteers

By sharing the instructions with everyone who may be involved in collecting the money and displaying the cradles during the month of October. Post last year’s level of participation and challenge everyone to a new goal.

3. Ask – Ask – Ask everyone who enters the social quarters to

participate The Cradle Fundraiser is an opportunity to easily raise Endowment Fund collections in the social quarters.

4. Be creative

Create a competition in the Social Quarters Copy the cradles in different colors Men vs. women, Etc.

5. Recognize donors by posting the cradles in a prominent location
