    In August.

DMBA Has the following events coming up:

    1. Sidewalk Sales before Oyster Festival

    2. Wine Trail

    3. Good movement with new stores downtown

    Other Business:

It was brought up by Cyrus that downtown has and continues to be a zoo on weekend nights. There have

been bar fights and bar patrons defecating property and causing damage downtown. Cyrus and Buddy have haddiscussion with Chief Mellow who claims their hands are tied and do not have the staff to patrol downtown.

Cyrus stated that Milford is becoming a drunken fest more like New Haven & Bridgeport, rather than a more

desirable outing for everyone like Westport & Fairfield. Something has to be done to get it under control before

something bad really happens. The following discussions occurred:

That bar and restaurant owners have to be more responsible and control people drinking too much at their

establishments- rebuttal people are also drinking off sites in owners parking lots and streets and only

more police surveillance on foot/bikes can control this. Heavier police presence and arrests are needed in

order to be taken seriously and show that Milford will not tolerate such disregard. Arrests will stop those

types of patrons from coming to Milford bars or make them more conscientious when they frequent these

    establishmentsknowing there are consequences.

Outcome was made that MPI & DMBA write a letter to the Major, Police Chief and Police Commissioner

that something has to be done to control this problem. It was also mentioned to copy the Liquor

Commission however this was tabled. Also motioned that letter should come from David Slossberg,

    representing MPI.

Motion for the above was made by James Beard and seconded by Cyrus Settineri.

Another issue was brought up by John DePalma that there is a problem pulling out onto Broad Street near

Rainbow gardens as there are parking spots along that side and you cannot see cars coming up Broad

Street. Was recommending that one space be eliminated in that area in order to avoid accidents. Per

Buddy, Alan Plattus is aware of this and also addressing it in the Conservation Report.

Motion to adjourn meeting at 12:41 by Vincent Averaimo, seconded by James Beard.
