About the Workshop Forklifts are useful pieces of equipment found in many workplaces, but without the knowledge to use them properly they can also be some of the most dangerous. Whether a worker is operating the vehicle, or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, forklift incidents can cause serious harm. Every year forklifts cause an estimated 35,000 serious injuries and almost 100 deaths. e Forklifts: Understanding the Risks ½-day workshop provides awareness about forklifts, along with steps to prevent accidents and injuries. Objectives include: • Recognizing the importance of operating forklifts correctly • Recognizing the importance of inspecting vehicles before and during operation • Discussing common hazards that can lead to incidents • Recalling and discussing the safety procedures for refueling and recharging • Demonstrating how to make safety observations in the workplace Who Should Attend is workshop is appropriate for any employee who drives or maintains forklifts in the workplace. The Methodology e format is based on adult group-learning principles, in which participants interact as they discuss, analyze, and apply information from presentations, case studies, group discussions, and situational analyses to their own experience and organizations.
