Prep Enrolments 2018
If you have a child who will be attending Lightning Reef Primary School in Prep next year, you are
most welcome to enrol at any time. Early enrolments assist us to put in place staffing, grade struc-
tures and allocate re-sources for next year. When enrolling your child, you will be provided with the
enrolment package. Further to this we require;
1. A copy of the birth certificate (we can make copies of originals if necessary) and
2. A school entry immunisation certificate obtained from The Australian Child-hood Immunisation
Register (ACIR). Phone 1800653809 or apply online to obtain a copy.
Enrolment forms are now available for collection from the office. The 2018 Information Booklet is
currently being reviewed but will be available before the end of term three.
If you know anyone moving into our area, has a child attending your child’s pre-school or who has a
Prep child for next year and is considering options talk to them about our school.

The school nurse will be visiting our school starting Monday 15 May. Please return forms to the office by
Monday morning.
Head Lice
Thanks to those families who continue to check for head lice. This support enables us to limit the chances
of head lice spreading. Please continue to check hair at home and help us to become head lice free.
Head lice checks will occur every Friday and the first Monday of each term at school. You will receive a phone
call from our parent group of ‘trained head lice checkers’ if your child has any evidence of head lice (live lice and
or eggs). You will be required to collect your child from school and to treat their hair at home with a treatment
purchased from the chemist.
This process will continue throughout the year so please accept these phone calls with their intended purpose. The
school is doing its best to support your child and their needs. Please let us know if we can help you in any way with advice.
Good luck to our students as they partake in the District Cross Country.
Have a great weekend.

GOLD CARDS
This term we have combined our Gold Card exchange with Golden Time on a Friday afternoon.
Students can earn gold cards by displaying behaviours that reflect our schools values of Being Your Best,
Respect, Responsibility and Cooperation. Each
term we will focus on one of our values, with
this terms focus being RESPECT. On Friday
afternoon during Golden Time, students can
exchange their Gold Cards for a special
activity. (Please see poster below for choices.)
We have also introduced the ‘Lightning Reef
Platinum Card’. This card is given to the whole
class and is earned when all students in the
class work together, help each other and follow
class expectations.
