The Chamber has announced that Timothy D. Bates, attorney andpartner at Robinson & Cole, LLP will receive the 2006 William CrawfordDistinguished Service Award. A dinner will be held to present the award onNovember 13, 2006 at Foxwoods Resort Casino, Grand Ballroom.

“Tim’s commitment and service to our community in eastern Con-necticut is as outstanding as it is diverse,” said Tony Sheridan, presidentof the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut during the pressconference. “He has served for several years on the Board of Directors forLawrence & Memorial Hospital, and today, serves as Chairman of the Boardduring a very pivotal time in the hospital’s growth and development. Hehas donated countless hours toward many causes. Whether it’s for thearts, as a member of the Garde Arts Center Campaign Committee, toserving as a volunteer camp counselor each week during the summer forover a decade to mentor young people in our region—Tim’s commitment toour community has undoubtedly touch hundreds of lives.”

Created in 1977, the William Crawford Distinguished Service Awardrecognizes an outstanding member of the community who has exemplifiedthe spirit of community service and contributed to improving the quality oflife in eastern Connecticut.
