storyBook Theater presents hilarious 55-minute musicals for children of all ages.

The Frog Prince takes place in the wild, wild west, where they grow things big – things like cactus, frogs and promises. Princess Honey has to find a miracle in order to save the ranch from the clutches of the awful land-grabber, Duke. Instead she finds a very large frog. The frog offers to help–but only in exchange for a promise. Will Princess Honey decide to keep her promise to a big green frog, or will she throw him back into the pond and see if he floats?

It’s Summertime! (well not quite...but soon enough)

11STUDIO EASTTraining for the Performing Arts

No audition required! Registration begins February 6th.

summer stage Camps are designed to provide a gateway to the art and craft of theater. Guided by professional theater instructors, students (grades 3-6) are immersed in many aspects of theater – auditions (without the worry, since everyone gets a part), learning lines and music, rehearsing blocking and choreography, working together as a team and having a blast! Campers learn important theater skills and terms through focused workshops and theater games. Camps conclude with performances for family and friends on the final Friday. Limited to 30 students.

summer stage (Two week musical camp)

Teen camps give older students a chance to develop acting skills and get great stage time! Students may choose either a musical or Shakespeare camp. Each show is an ensemble piece with great roles for everyone. In addition to rehearsal, students explore, define and develop their acting skills through focused workshops in a variety of topics such as improvisation, dance and musical theater. Camps conclude with performances for family and friends on the final day.

Teen camps are for students entering 7th-10th grades in Fall 2012.

Two-Week Teen Camps

One-Week summer Theater CampsStudio East has two choices for young children this summer. Little players Camps are specially designed for 4 to 6 year-olds. Talespinners Camps are geared for students entering 1st or 2nd grade in the Fall. Each camp has a fun theme, and many of the camp themes complement each other.

Talespinners camps are perfect for 1st and 2nd graders who love creating stories. Based on a weekly theme, experienced, professional theater instructors work with students to create characters and weave their stories into a play. Students create the plot, dialogue, props, and costume pieces for their very own play, while learning stage etiquette and terminology. Snack break, lunch time and free play give students a chance to interact with their peers and build teamwork skills. On the last day of camp, families are invited to watch the spectacular storytelling and stagecraft!

Little players camps, taught by professional theater instructors, are designed to inspire creativity and confidence in children ages 4-6. Campers will have fun as they alternate between small and large group activities focused on drama, art, music and movement. Instructors introduce basic theater terms and skills while encouraging teamwork and self-expression. Lunch time, free play and story time are integrated with theatrical exploration. On the last day of camp, excitement is high as the Little Players showcase their fantastic work in a presentation for their families.

playmakers Camps are designed by professional theater instructors for 3rd to 6th graders. The young performers create the plot, write the script, and add props and costumes. Campers learn acting technique, stage etiquette and terminology. Music and dance may find their way into these creations as well, depending on the interests and skills of the campers, and theater games are utilized to further skill development and teamwork. On the last day of camp, families are invited to watch the Playmakers perform theatrical magic! Limited to 30 students.
