1. SCOPE
The pressure drop calculations are carried out for the Ambato metering skid to be supplied toCONSTRUCCION DEL POLIDUCTO AMBATO-RIOBAMBA PROJECT.
The system has 2 x 100 % (i.e. 1 streams operating + 1 standby stream) flow configuration. Each streamhas coriolis meter for measurement of flow. The system can be connected to compact prover also forproving purpose.
Based on below reference drawings, pressure drop is calculated considering the following metering cases

4. COMPONENT PRESSURE DROPS USED
These pressure drop values are obtained from information supplied by the manufacturer or from data booksand are incorporated into the pressure drop calculations attached.
Basket Strainer
P= 7 PSI @ max.flow of 500 GPM
Coriolis Meter
P= 8.6 PSI @ max.flow of 500 GPM

5. SUMMARY
The pressure drop calculations are performed using Design Flow Solution software version 4.19based on theassumptions, process data mentioned on page no.3. For the components not available in the softwaredatabase, values for Cv or direct pressure drop value in Bar collected from manufacturer and used forcalculations.

Since calculated total pressure drop in last column of the above table is reasonable for Ambato liquid meteringsystem, Daniel feels the proposed piping arrangement with given components can be used without making anyalteration in design.
Also it is estimated that during proving pressure drop may go upto 49 PSI.
