We don’t have final numbers yet, but I cannot wait to extend my deepest gratitude to those who made it happen. Like the St. Mary teens! The Knights of Columbus! The St. Mary School Men’s Club! The PACG! The Spanish speaking Council and their ministries! And so many others who volunteered precious time and energy. Special thanks to those organizers who worked so hard on behalf of all of us: Fernando Lopez, Vanessa Salinas, Jackie Leonard, Victor Ponce and Edita Cruz. I encourage all of you to thank them personally!

Care of Our New Church Now we are solidly in our refreshed worship space. All the furniture and equipment are back in
place. How do you feel? How do you like it? We’ve replaced our 30-year-old carpet, painted, and re-built the sanctuary. We’ve done the best we could to refresh our pews and wood paneling. Many thanks to Paul Hough Construction, Tomasello Floors and Rich Dellamaggiore for all their help, patience, and thoughtfulness in our project. Our eternal gratitude to the small army of volunteers, led by Leanne Heygood and Jorge Mendoza, for the hours they spent re-installing the pews, putting the rubber shoes on the kneeler feet, bringing all our Mass stuff back over from the gym, cleaning and polishing the pews and paneling. What a blessing you all are to our parish! Next, all of us need to step up and take responsibility for the upkeep of our new space. Seriously, no food or drink in the church—take it outside. Please don’t leave your bulletin or songbook in the pew; we have racks for them both at the doors. Please don’t use the floor for your trash bin—someone else will have to pick it up. We have trash and recycling bins at all the doors. Now that our kneelers have been refurbished, please don’t use them for anything but kneeling, after you gently put them down. When they are folded, they can’t survive people (even children) standing on them or kicking them. If your child needs to stand on something to see what’s going on, please lower the kneeler or have them stand on the pew.
Our financial support of our parish paid for this restoration—many thanks to all who regularly give, those who gave more to help pay for this, all who participate in our Building & Maintenance collection, all who built up our 150th Anniversary fund, and all who helped in any way. It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain the beauty of our renovation. Let’s become a Keep Our Church Beautiful Team. God bless your efforts in this! Rose Barry, Pastoral Associate
