It is important you monitor this to ensure that the videos and the conversation is appropriate. Age-Inappropriate videos You Tube is the biggest video sharing website in the world. Video content for all age-groups is available. Some content will not be suitable for your child to view. If you think that content is unsuitable, there is red flag feature to submit the video for review by You Tube staff. Even if it is unsuitable for children it might not breach You Tube policies, so might continue to be available. It is important parents continue to monitor their childrens’ use of You Tube. Parent Permission to attend Life Choices Last week we sent home information about the Life Choices Programme which is available at Wellsford School in Terms 2 and 3 each year. The Board of Trustees has adopted the newly published recommendations of the Ministry and so any parent who wishes their child to attend, must indicate this by returning the permission slip to the school office. Life Choices is now an OPT-IN programme, so parents must return the slip, if their child is to be included. Regards Dave Bradley Principal

Digital Snippet No.4 – What parents need to know about You Tube

In-App Messaging – When your child is logged into their Google Account and

browsing the You Tube website, they can share and talk about videos with their

friends using the chat bubble. It is important you monitor this to ensure that the

videos and the conversation is appropriate.

for all age-groups is available. Some content will not be suitable for your child to view. If you think that

content is unsuitable, there is red flag feature to submit the video for review by You Tube staff. Even if it

is unsuitable for children it might not breach You Tube policies, so might continue to be available. It is

important parents continue to monitor their childrens’ use of You Tube.
