loma 73106) seeks administrative approval of an unorthodox'Tz&s^ well locg'friy'j based upon topographical conditions,^under the pro-visions of paragraph F of Rule 10U of New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission Rules and Regulations dated January 1, 1976.

The proposed wellsite i s located on relatively f l a t surface, sur­rounded by a rocky, mountainous area, and the standard locations f a l l on sloping surfaces which are unsuitable for d r i l l i n g . The non-standard location requested is_13lj.5>! FSL and 680' FWL of Sec-tion 30-T25S-R22E. This site was selected with the assistance and concurrence of Mr. Allan L. Hinds, Di s t r i c t Ranger, Guadalupe Ranger Di s t r i c t , Lincoln National Forest, Carlsbad, New Mexico and Mr. Charles Flaherty, Environmental Scientist, USGS, Artesia, New Mexico.

A lease ownership map of the area of the proposed wellsite i s en­closed. Beard Oil Co. i s the owner of the leases of a l l the land surrounding the proposed location, with the exception of Section 2h-T2f>S-R21E. The portion of this section which borders the proposed d r i l l i n g location i n Section 30-T2]?S-R22E i s leased to Union Oil Co. of California under lease no. NM-10766. Union Oil Co. of Cali­fornia i s being notified by three copies of this l e t t e r (sent via cert i f i e d mail to Box 7600, Union Oil Center, Los Angeles, California 90051) and i s asked to indicate waiver of objection, by authorized signature i n the space provided on the second page of this l e t t e r . After signature, Union Oil Co. is requested to mail one signed copy of this l e t t e r to Mr. Joe D.
