Supply Chain Platform (SCP)

• A software tool that improves supply chain management between buyers and suppliers, from demand planning through order management processes.

• A collaboration solution that is used in conjunction with traditional forms of communication like email, phone, fax, etc.

• A common platform link for sharing information in a standardized format, between organizations that use different internal data systems.


SCP’s Supported Business Processes

1. Demand Forecasting: using Standard and Long Term Planning Schedules & Responses

2. Inventory Management: using Inventory Status

3. Order Management: using Orders, Change Orders, and Order Responses

4. Shipments: using standard and batch Advance Ship Notices

5. Invoices: using Invoices, Invoice Response, and Invoice Status

6. Goods Receipts

Register for Access to SCP


Managed Access Gateway (MAG)

• MAG is Exostar’s account management tool

> Provides an additional “layer” of security

> Single source to manage user information and access controls for multiple Exostar applications

• Data Storage:

> User’s contact information - stored in MAG layer

> Supply chain data - stored in SCP layer


Registration Process for New Login Credentials

To use SCP, you must complete a brief registration process

Option #1: Self-registration

See your company’s SCP administrator for the website address to register.

Option #2: Registration by your Administrator

You will receive info required for first time login from your Administrator and by email.

See the ‘Administration’ section of training materials for more details


First-time Login

First-time Login requires the following (3) credentials

1. User ID to access SCP through MAG

2. A one-time password you (or your admin) created in registration

3. A system-generated password, sent to you by email


Login to SCP*

• Go to http://portal.exostar.com • Enter your User ID and Password (password was created by you as part of the

first-time login process)• Click Submit

* This login process is used AFTER the first-time login is successfully completed.


Single Sign-On through SCP

• Each application will be listed on the Applications tab

• This page acts as a portal to multiple applications

• Select Open Application (for SCP)


My Account Tab

From the My Account tab, you can update the following:

1. Contact information (under Edit Profile)

2. Email address – requires two-step process for validation

3. Password – if know current password, process is different for “Forgot Password”

4. Responses to Security Questions


Login to SCP - Troubleshooting


System Requirements

• Hardware:> OS - Windows 2000 or Windows XP> CPU - 450MHz Pentium III minimum, 1GB recommended> Ram - 128MB minimum, 256MB or higher recommended

• Network Bandwidth:> 56Kbps minimum, 256Kbps or higher recommended

• Software:> Microsoft IE 5.5 SP 2 or 6.0 SP 1 & 2 or 7 (No Mozilla Firefox)

Note: If you see the Error message: ‘defaultbrowserNotSupported’

verify your browser version by clicking on Help About Internet Explorer

> Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher - to view and print PDF training documents


Pop-Up Blocker Software

• Pop-up blocker software can prevent certain functions from occurring

> In Windows XP SP2, Pop-up Blocker is turned on by default

• Temporarily disable Pop-up Blocker software:

> For Windows XP, press Alt key while clicking the link or action button

> For most other third party applications, use the Ctrl key while clicking

• Permanent fix:

> Configure your browser to allow all pop-ups from exostar.com– Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy tab -> Pop-up Blocker Settings…

> Configure your browser to indicate exostar.com as a safe site zone– Tools -> Internet Options -> Security tab -> Trusted Sites…


Enable Downloads

• To allow downloads for printing from Exostar’s site, configure your browser as follows:

> Tools -> Internet Options -> Security tab

> Click Custom Level

> Scroll down to Downloads section

> Under File Download, select Enable

> Click OK
