DON’T HIRE THE WRONG LAWYER!!!!

When you need a lawyer for all of your motorcycle questions you need to call Lobel,Kaufmann & Anastasia. We’ve been protecting bikers for over 40 years!

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things peopleactually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that hadthe torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

Don’t get the wrong lawyer. These people did...._______________________________________________________ATTORNEY: Now doctor, "isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't knowabout it until the next morning?"

WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?_______________________________________________________ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-year-old, how old is he?

WITNESS: He's twenty, much like your IQ._______________________________________________________ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?

WITNESS: Are you shitting me?_______________________________________________________ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?

WITNESS: Yes.

ATTORNEY: How many were boys?

WITNESS: None.

ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?

WITNESS: Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?

I hope you found this fun and interesting and if you have any questions, please callme at 1-877-CYCLE-LAW.

Autumn is great riding weather and of course fall foliage rides. It’s always great to be out riding and not sweating your butt off with temperatures over 90° and high humidity. But fall brings on it’s own kind of ride problems.

Even though the temperatures aren’t as hot as the summer months you still have the problem of dehydration. The sun is still coming down and the heat from the engine add up to possibility of making you thirsty. Stop for a cool beverage now and then. I always enjoy a good hot dog when I stop, you have to keep up your strength too.

The other problem is the foliage, it keeps “falling”. When those leaves sit on the road after a cool night they can get wet and that means slippery. It doesn’t have to rain to make those leaves wet and for that matter a pile of dry leaves can do as much damage in making your bike skid too. Sometimes the leaves can also hide some loose gravel, so be careful, especially in the turns.

Dress so you can add or remove clothing as the day progresses. It may be cool when you start in the morning, warm in the afternoon then cool on the way home again. Be prepared and you’ll enjoy the ride more.

I think that’s enough safety tips for now. By looking at my calendar of events there are a lot of rides happening this month, I hope to be on a few of them. When you see me at an event or bike show, please say hello and let me know where you are from or who you ride with.

Now have a great October and enjoy the beautiful weather and foliage. I’ll see you on the road.

The Old Dogs have celebrated another year with their annual campout and gathering. Chapters came in from as far as Alabama and some came from Missouri.

Little Richard, National President, performed three O.D.B. weddings at this year’s event. He also took the seat on the dunk chair, a variation of the dunk tank, and received a drenching for all too see.

At this year’s event there was pudding wrestling by two of our young ladies, plenty of food and music to fill out the weekend. We also had a bike show, biker flea market with new & used parts and two pole dancers, all in all a great time.

Several clubs came in to cel-ebrate with us & many people stayed for the entire three day weekend & there was no rain or hurricane this year.

Now it’s on to planning for 2013 and we hope to see you’s there Super Grouch Old Dogs Brotherhood Pres.

Losing a member of the riding community can affect riders because that person’s life reflected the lives of many who enjoy riding. The loss of Bob Armstrong in August affected many riders in the tri-state area be-cause he lived to ride and rode until the last month before he died.

Armstrong had enjoyed riding since he returned from the Vietnam War. Even as he raised a family with his wife Delores, he was able to find time to ride with the motorcycle groups in the Broomall, PA area. After he lost his wife a year and a half ago, Bob found some peace and con-solation in riding. Even when he received the devastating news of his stage four lung cancer, he kept riding as long as he could. The support of the good friends he made in Tri-State HOG gave him joy during his last days on the road and in the hospital before he died. Armstrong’s life and death reflects the spirit of anyone who lives to ride. Many in the tri-state motorcycling community will remember him.

Augusts heat did not affect the events that took place in the tri-state area. Herr’s Bike Night took place on the evening of August 9th. Despite the threat of thunderstorms, hundreds of riders converged on the plant located on Route 272 in Nottingham, PA to enjoy free samples of Herr’s snacks, a bike show, and music.

Glenside, PA held its annual bike night on August 4th with a bike show, vendors and a chance to view muscle cars.

Area riders showed up to support the Susan G. Komen’s Cancer Fund Ride held in Honey-brook, PA on Saturday August 18th. Hannum’s Twelfth Annual Dam Run on August 25th closed out the month of activities when hundreds of riders rode from the Hannum’s Harley-Davidson's Chadds Ford dealership to the Conowingo Dam in Maryland and back to the dealership to receive a com-memorative t-shirt.

Tri-State HOG had many rides in August thanks to Charlie Dresden, the club’s Road Captain. Dresden organized a run to Woody’s Crab House in North East Maryland on August 10th. Despite the rain, he used his car to lead a group of cars from Hannum’s Brandywine Harley-Davidson deal-ership at 6:00pm. On August 25th he organized a ride through Delaware County to the club’s picnic held at Dean Keyes’ home in Delaware County.

Tri-State HOG members got a chance to tour the Harley-Davidson plant In York, PA on August 29th thanks to Dresden organizing and leading a ride from Chad’s Ford to York. Dresden also of-fered other ice cream runs and short rides during August.

Not to compete with Dresden’s efforts, Ed Montgomery organized a “Hump Ride” to the Atlan-tic City Air show called Thunder Over the Boardwalk on August 17th. The riders found space to park their bikes at the Borgata Casino among the hundreds of thousands of tri-state area and New Jersey residents who came to the show.

Julianne Yarwood, the Chapter Director of the Keystone Chapter of Women on Wheels, led a group of members to Cape May, NJ for an overnight stay on August 25th.

The Blue Comet Motorcycle Club held a Diamond Run to celebrate the club’s seventy-five years of existence on August 12th. The run started with one of their famous breakfasts in their clubhouse in Skippack at 8:00am and the bikes left for the run between 9:00 & 11:00.

Eagle HOG held its Third Annual Poker Run to supply care packages to troops serving over-seas as part of Operation Eagle Flies on August 18th. There was plenty to do for riders in the tri-state area during the month of August.

We all enjoy looking at vintage & antique bikes & cars, I know I do. When I met up with Heather over a year ago for a photo shoot for the cover of our June 2011 magazine she told me about a friend that had some antique bikes and thought they would make for an interesting story. We it took some time to put the shoot together but here it is with Heather as the eye candy.

This silver beauty, seen on the right, is a bike is a 1947 Knucklehead. This was one of Matt’s dream vintage bikes. Without a thought he traded his 1967 Firebird 400 for this bike. When the bike was received it was discov-er that in order for it to be ridden safely, a lot more work would be needed than expected, creating the decision for a more extensive restoration.

There is an estimated 80% of the bike is original parts on this 1947 work of art that includes the frame, motor, Springer, handlebars, and engine. Matt chose not to completely create an “original” bike as he was already build-ing an original “47” and wanted to make this one into a Bobber.

Next is this 1966 Shovelhead which is Matt’s favorite. Matt is only the second owner of this bike, former owner, the deceased Gabriel Griffith purchased the bike in 1966 from Milton Wensel’s HD Pottstown, everything on it is original including the paint, with exemption of the seat, (though Matt does have the original “buddy seat” and windshield) no restoration was needed or desired for this bike as it only has 17,000 original miles.

Finally is this 1959 Panhead Bobber was purchased in 2005 from a good friend. Since the purchase it has went through many changes. The only thing that is original “59” is the gas tank and engine. The rest of the bike is “48”.

Though young in age, Matt’s passion for motorcycles is very vintage and classic. He prefers the old classic bikes rather than the new ones with an interest in reading and researching the parts and history. Matt, a Marine for ten years, has the same passion for collecting memorabilia for the Marine Corps and proudly displays it in his family room.

Our cover girl Heather does not ride a motorcycle herself but she is a huge enthusiast and always enjoys a ride on the back seat. Motorcycles were a very large part of her childhood and will always be a passion in her life.

The love and tradition of motorcycles continued through her father, uncles and friends while growing up and through adulthood, paying close attention to detail and instructions as she sat on the sidelines in their garages as work was being conducted or a con-versation was in session.

In her spare time, if she’s not riding with Matt, family or friends, she can often be seen at local bike and car shows taking pictures. Cooking, hiking, working out or going to the beach to enjoy some sun keeps her busy as well as advocating for some charity she feels strong about.

We’re happy that Heather and Matt took some time from their busy schedules to share these bikes and themselves with our readers. Great bikes and great friends, what more could anyone ask for?

by Lee D. Gaber, Esquire1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352)[email protected]

For those of you who have met me at both Pennsylvania and New Jersey motorcycle events, you know that I am always trying to come up with unique ways to advertise the fact that my firm focuses its practice on handling PA and NJ motorcycle accidents.

As I think back over the years and to the items we have handed out advertising our specialty as one of Pennsylvania’s only law firms that focuses its practice on motorcycle accidents, I am reminded as to how long we have been advertising this way as I remember the key-chain pocket knives we used to hand out prior to September 11, 2001.

More recently we started giving away “chip-clips” in black and orange with our name, e-mail and phone number on them to remind everybody that if you, or someone you know, are involved in a motorcycle accident in either PA or NJ all you have to do is open up your snack drawer or pantry and look for our contact information. As most of you are aware, we do not charge anything for a motorcycle accident consultation unless we are successful in obtaining a recovery for pain and suffering caused by a motorcycle accident.

Just to be clear, we do not charge for mail, making or taking telephone calls, photocopies, faxing, storage fees or many of the other “junk” fees that most other attorneys charge when they distribute your settlement. By the way, most of these charges are taken out of your share of the settlement quite often leaving the client with less money than the attorney, and you are the one who hired the motorcycle accident attorney in the first place!

An additional item we added this year were customized nail files, which are imprinted on both sides with our phone number, website and e-mail, to again make it as easy as possible for any of you to contact us should you be involved in a motorcycle accident.

As we begin to think about what we should order for next years events, I am writing this article to ask those of you who read my article on a regular basis, to contact us via our FaceBook page, Lee D. Gaber - The Cycle Attorney, and give us your suggestions as to the types of items you would like as a give-a-away during next years shows.

In addition to the advertising materials, if you have any suggestions for topics you would like me address, please feel free to comment on that as well.

As always, if upon reading this material you have any questions regarding this topic or any others, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352). Sincerely,LEE D. GABER, EsquireThe one and only, “Cycle Attorney”

A big thanks to all of you that came out to show their bikes, vend in the swap meet, or just to look around. It was a great turnout with a staggering amount of rare bikes that are hardly ever seen. There was even a 101 year old original Harley-Davidson was RIDDEN to the show and entered... it doesn’t get much better than that!

We still have a few hiccups to work out with the show as it grows, but I’m on it. I already have a plan to alter the voting procedure a bit going forward. I’ll send out a bulk email probably next spring once I have the 3rd Annual Oily Pipes show set in stone.

Trophies were awarded as follows: 1st place went to Greg Hess for his ‘66 Triumph Bonneville chopper (rolling artwork!) while 2nd place went to Dan Bonsall with a beautiful ‘70 Indian mini Bambino and 3rd place was awarded to Anthony DiDomenico for his ‘32 Harley-Davidson VL. There were so many bikes to judge that it wasn’t an easy decision.

Meanwhile, the 50/50 raffle went to J. Longstreet who walked up with $10.00 and left with $120 ...not too bad of a haul! Thanks again and hope to see you all at next year’s event.

SELECTING THE RIGHT LAWYER Hopefully you never need the services of a motorcycle injury attorney, BUT if you ever do, unless you are represented by an attorney experienced in this complicated area of the law, you will be at a distinct disadvantage when having to deal with an insurance company or insurance company attorneys. We have references and our clients overwhelmingly say they are happy with our services. Results are important and examples of our injury recoveries include:
