GJP Recipient ofMailChimps CommunityCollege AwardMailChimp Community College is a leadership programdesigned to equip MailChimp employees to think deeplyand broadly about fostering equity in Atlanta Theinaugural cohort convened in early 2017 and comprised12 MailChimp employees from around the company Theprogram was designed in partnership with CommunityFoundation for Greater Atlanta to help educateMailChimps employees on local issues and introducethem to organizations doing powerful work

GJP along with a dozen other nonprofit executives civicleaders and community organizers met with theCommunity College group to discuss their work and thechallenges they face GJP was one of three organizationsawarded the MailChimp Community College Award Thisgrant will allow GJP to engage private sector businessesand learn more about their employment practices and

GJP which has helpedchange 17 state laws in thepast five years will use thosefunds to encouragecompanies to hire people whohave a criminal record ldquoTheirmain barrier is the ability toget a job But if you have ajob you have a much lesschance of going back toprisonrdquo

GJP Staff Participate in2nd Annual Ex-OffenderJob FairOn September 15th The Henry County Alumnae Chapterof Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc in collaboration withClayton State University The Zeta Mu Nu Chapter ofOmega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc and Streetz 945 and OldSchool 877 radio stations hosted the 2nd Annual Ex-Offender Job Fair at Clayton State University

The job fairs purpose was to educate the community onsecuring employment for returning citizens GJP had theopportunity to participate in the job fair by providinginformation to attendees with criminal records GJPs
