Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. In order to receive from the Lord, we must expect Him to show up and show out in our lives. Without a fervent sense of expectancy, all we are doing is taking part in religious exercises that have no power behind them. It is time for Believers to start expecting God to do some great and mighty things in our lives. Many Christians pray, read their Bibles, go to church, and serve in various capacities in ministry, but when it comes to the promises of God leaping off the pages of the Bible and manifesting in their lives, their faith levels are really low. They say they believe but they really do not, nor do they really expect God to come through on His Word. This is not the way Christians should live. God wants us to release our faith for everything we need and desire. He wants you to expand your capacity to receive by believing Him for BIG things! When you read a scripture from His Word and receive it in your heart, without doubt, you should absolutely expect it to come to pass. There should be no question in your mind that God will do exactly what He said He will do. Excerpted from an Article written by Creflo Dollar

Uncle Sam ain’t got nuttin’ on a sister with aplan and a destiny! The Sisters of Destiny isthe GGBC sisterhood ministry that meets oncea month on the second Saturday of the month. The sisterhood is designed for women of faithto come together in fellowship to put intoaction God’s plan for our lives!

Of DestinySisters

The fellowship focuses on discussionsregarding everyday matters and concerns thataffect the lives of women—especially blackwomen. The Sisterhood fellowship anddiscussion is based on structured lesson plansdesigned to engage stimulating andenlightening conversation and information fromexperiences, desires and passion. The Sistersof Destiny invite all the absent GGBC body ofwomen to come out and join us each month foran hour of enlightening conversation, laughterand fellowship.

You are cordially invited! One of the most interesting statistics during this event wasthe number of African-Americans supporting the cause forloved ones who have been affected by this disease. Thisshow of support is a great indicator of how this diseaselargely affects the African-American community. Womenand men…..PLEASE conduct regular self-examines andby all means, have your regular annual mammogram forearly detection. Congratulations to those who have wonthe battle and thank you to the ladies supporting this cause!

GGBC Warriors for the Cure! On Saturday October, 6, several women of GGBC gathered together to show support for those who have either battled and succumbed or battled and won the fight against breast cancer.

preparation during this time—casseroles, salads and dessertsare good gestures; soft drinks, water, toiletries are always asafe bet; buy 2 or 3 “thinking of you“ sympathy cardsaddressed to the family for future mailing after the serviceshave been concluded. There is never a simple or easy way toexpress your condolences but we can all do something!

With all the emailsof late regardingthe passing of notonly family ofmembers, butmembers as well, Ibegan to reflect

back on the death of my father—one of the most critical timesin my life. The one thing I remember hearing the most was “ifthere’s anything I can do, let me know.” I also realized thatduring that time, I nor my siblings did not necessarily possessthe presence of mind nor the faculty of desire to express anunfulfilled need. In times of grief, here are few suggestionsthat are invaluable to the bereaved: Look for an immediateneed and fill it! We’re all good at something, offer your gift insome form or fashion; Meet/transport incoming relatives(offer a spare room if necessary); provide transportation asneeded—it makes a world of difference for someone grievingnot to have to drive, especially when traveling to makearrangements; if there are children, offer to baby-sit; if theindividual lives alone or is in the city by themselves, offer tostay with them until other relatives arrive; provide food—persons grieving are not necessarily thinking about food

Hosted by Twynn Marketing, a firm owned andoperated by Marnie N. Robinson—the conferencewas fantastic—start to finish! Session openedFriday night with a thought-provoking ice breakerregarding “utopia”…an exercise addressingperception. In a second exercise of the eveningMarnie introduced a personality test to the groupfor the purpose of providing insight and informationabout others in our membership. Saturdayconcluded the conference with an exercise inrewriting the GGBC mission statement andunderstanding the powerful effect of branding.

Hello, do you know me?If you don’t, you should. I’m a pound of fat, and I'm thehappiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.

So, when you weigh in, keep right onsaying "Oh, I only lost one pound." (as ifthat were such a terrible thing!) For yousee, if you do this you'll encourage othersto keep me around because they will thinkI'm not worth losing. And I love beingaround you - your arms, your legs, yourchin, your hips and every part of you.Happy Days!! After all, I'm Only OnePound of fat!!!

Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me;I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to losethree pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never onlyone, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then Iadd to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it,that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds inweight. Yes, it’s fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to doas I please.
