2. Student Announcementfor the Fall 2011 Credit by Examination
As specified on page 16 of the Samuel Clemens Student/Parent Handbook, credits required for graduation may be earned through Credit by Examination.
Credit by Examination for the Fall semester will be offered after school on November 16, and December 1st and 8th.
A grade of 90 must be achieved to receive Credit by Examination. The registration deadline for Credit by Examination is Monday October 17th.
Registration forms, which require a parents signature, are available in the Counselors Office.

3. Clemens National Honor Society
The Clemens National Honor Society will meet Thursday, Oct 13th before and after school in Room D-103
(Mr. Chavezs Classroom)

4. Culinary Arts Senior Katelyn Moody won RESERVE CHAMPION in the "desserts on display" category at the Guadalupe County Fair on October 9th. Katelyn prepared her award- winning mint chocolate chip cupcakes to edge out the competition.

Freshmen play Thursday night against Canyon at Canyon.

Congressman Lamar Smith has a deadline of October 22, 2011 for students who wish to compete for a nomination to one of the four United States Service Academies (WestPoint, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Merchant Marine Academy).
If you live in the 21st Congressional district and are interested, please come by the Counseling Office as soon as possible for more information.
