Teaching

I raised my head from my arm. Just. One eye remained

squished shut and my sleeve stuck partially to my cheek.

My mouth was dry and my ear was numb, warm and

ringing (how long had I been out? Had anyone noticed?).

Still talking, some actually working; none were looking.

Relieved, I put my head back on my arm and closed my

eyes again; my mind drifted to a possible sausage roll at

break. Soon they will leave and I will have to appear

awake once more and get back to my main function:
