SleepThe Final Frontier... zzzz....

Page 2: 1001 sleepless nights

It was a classic chicken/egg scenario: Was Chris depressed because he was not sleeping or was he not sleeping because he was depressed? Either way, he had to do something. Two weeks with little sleep was catching up to him: he nearly fell asleep at supper the other night!

But what was keeping Chris awake at night? Was it the stress of working 3 jobs? Was it the loud and obnoxious sirens on his street all night? Was it the small and cramped apartment? Or was it the fear of moving to California and changing careers? And would he really move to California and start a winery??

Chris needed to get some sleep!!

Chris can't think straight. He needs to do something about his sad feelings first.

He went out for some fresh air.

the more nervous and restless he became.

The more he thinks of the situation...

Page 11: 1001 sleepless nights

He decided to put his sneakers on and started running.

Chris has been running for 10 Kilometers now. He no longer thinks of sad thoughts but tired from running.

Page 13: 1001 sleepless nights

He decided to go back to his place before he exhaust himself.

Chris noticed how he feels ... He feels calm.

Page 14: 1001 sleepless nights

As his career and his family flourished, the cycle continues as Chris shuffles his time between family, work, and personal rest.

24 hours is not enough... or so it seems...

Page 15: 1001 sleepless nights

Chris searched and searched for the ideal device to help him stretch out time for all the things that needed to be done..

Laptops and tablets to help him work anywhere..mobile phone to connect with business and family...radio, music player and television to help him relax..

Page 16: 1001 sleepless nights

still he searched for more:A pillow that allows him to get a couple of hours sleep anytime throughout the day...

... in between breaks, and while waiting to pick up the kids.

Page 17: 1001 sleepless nights

But with all these gadgets and inventions on hand, he still wondered if he's doing enough for his family and career.

Page 18: 1001 sleepless nights

Soon he realised that he was spending more time worrying about time and tracking time and managing time than enjoying it!

Page 19: 1001 sleepless nights

Chris spent his next several days performing the activities he had learned to relax and reflect: he would jog, meditate, and nap. When he could not sleep he would write a diary, watch old tv, or count the stars.

Page 20: 1001 sleepless nights

He soon realised that he worried too much simply because he did actually worry. All he had to do was to... stop worrying!

Page 21: 1001 sleepless nights

He stopped worrying about the winery. He stopped worrying about exercising; he just exercised. He stopped worrying about insomnia; when he had it, he would enjoy the quiet of the night. He stopped worrying about not spending enough time with his family; he simply spent quality time with them. And he stopped worrying about what would happen if he didn't get enough sleep; when he didn't get enough sleep one night, he caught up another. And when he stopped worrying... he started sleeping.
