10 practices for improving your career
by Jonathan Mills Patrick jonathanmillspatrick.com
Be a life long learner
Curiosity may "kill" the cat, but it makes business people stronger. Take every opportunity to learn something useful
Do what others won't
Being talented in your profession is important But sometimes just plain outworking everyone else is enough
Mirroring
Find a mentor that has accomplished what you want for yourself, and then mimic them
Give a flip
Customer service is practically dead...for those that don't care about other people. Show you care and the rest will come
Be seen
Business is just as much, if not more, about who you know rather than what you know. Build quality business relationships with like-minded professionals that can help your business grow.
Make their lives easier
If you are in sales find out what it is you do that makes the CEO's life easier?
Do the right thing
99% of the time doing the right thing will pay huge dividends. It just may not be today
Produce
Your value will always come down to what you add to your company's bottom-line
Be a reflector
Take credit when credit is due. But make sure you give your team chances to shin
Know where...
...to get the answers. You don't have to know them yourself
So...how can I help?
