1. The Most Common Obstacles The Believer Must

Face

A. The World“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” John 17:15-16

“the world” defined: social systems of our world used by the enemy as bait to lure Christians into behavior that opposes God’s divine

order.

Ways To Overcome Obstacles In The World:- Keep your thoughts subject to God’s will (Philippians 4:8)- Dedicate time to the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:5-6)- Avoid alliances with the world (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)- Stay in the Word of God permanently (Psalm 119:9)- Endeavor to win your friends for the Lord (James 5:19-20)

B. Temptation“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the

body is weak”Matthew 26:41

Temptation defined: bait the enemy uses to drag

man to violate the divine commandments

You can overcome temptation by:- Keeping in constant communion with the Spirit (1 Thess. 5:17)- Study the Word to confess it (Matt. 4)- Renounce every root sin that may allow temptations (Prov. 28:13)- Fill your mind with things of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16,25)

C. The Family“For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter

against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her

mother-in-law; a man’s enemies will be the members

of his own household”Matthew 10:35-36

How we can overcome family obstacles:- Win your family through prayer- Believe in God’s promises- Have a good testimony before them- Persevere until you win them for Christ
