DETAILED ITINERARY: DAY 1 Arrival into St George, UT Expect to be met by Utah Luxury Tours Uniformed Guide with a smile and passion for this unique scenery we are lucky to call our backyard. The quick one-hour transfer in your private luxury SUV from the St. George airport to Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens will suggest the majestic desert scenery of the Colorado Plateau you will be exploring in the following days. Nestled in the heart of Zion’s Sanctuary in Springdale, Utah and bordering Zion National Park along the Virgin River, the Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens is a truly unique riverside boutique resort with clean, comfortable, and relaxing rooms and suites. DAY 2 Private Guided Tour of Zion National Park – the Sanctuary “All this is the music of waters.” – John Wesley Powell, 1895 From the beginning people sought this place, this sanctuary in the desert’s dry reaches. The very name Zion, meaning “promised land,” evokes its significance. After breakfast, you will embark on a great adventure! A free public shuttle bus system was introduced in the year 2000 to reduce car congestion and it is the only way (in the high season) how to enter the park’s most spectacular scenery. Park elevations range from 3,600 to 8,700 feet and provide vastly different environments. Water, and the lack of it, decides what grows where. When summer monsoons send flash floods roaring down canyon, it’s a testimony to evolution that anything survives. As you start working your way through the Zion Canyon, your Utah Luxury Tours Guide will assess the weather status, chance of precipitation and physical condition and gusto of our guests and decide from a plethora of hikes available in the Zion Canyon – nice easy ones are Riverside Walk to the beginning of the Word Famous Narrows and Pa’arus Trail, a little more moderate trails would include Emerald Pools to Kayenta Trail, Weeping Rock, and most strenuous would be a breathtaking Angel’s Landing and hiking the Virgin River itself.

During the day we will stop for a delicious lunch at the Zion Lodge designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood. To finish the day, we suggest a brief stop at the Zion Human History Museum.

DAY 3 Private Guided Tour of Bryce Canyon National Park – The Hoodoo Country “It is a hell of a place, to lose a cow.” - Ebenezer Bryce, 1875 After breakfast we have a short 2-hour transfer to the Hoodoo Country. On the way, you will drive through the marvel of 1920s engineering, a 1.1-mile long Zion tunnel. Your guide will tell you about the brave souls that built it. One last stop on the eastern side of Zion NP before saying goodbye to this magical place is going to be the Checkerboard Mesa! At Bryce Canyon National Park erosion forms an array of fantastic shapes we call hoodoos. Archeologists found ancestral Puebloan and Fremont cultural artifacts near Bryce Canyon NP. Paiutes, who lived here when the white settlers came to southern Utah, accounted for the hoodoos as the “Legend People” whom Coyote (Sinawava) had turned to stone. Along the plateau rim geology catches your eye. Nearby forests and meadows stand in contrast to the intricately eroded rocks. As we are touring the park’s 18-mile-long road affording outstanding views, our guide will explain the ancient sedimentation, uplift and the erosion process of this unique place. The park is situated on the Paunsaugunt Plateau at an elevation of 8,000 feet. Sunrise, Sunset, Inspiration, and Bryce points

encircle Bryce Amphitheater, the biggest natural amphitheater in the park. The most beautiful 3 miles you will EVER hike is a Queens Garden to Navajo Loop Trail! Sunset and/ or sunrise viewing in Bryce Canyon leaves everyone in awe and speechless… Bryce Canyon Lodge, which was built from local timber and stone in the 1920s, is going to be our stop for a delicious lunch and also be your home for this upcoming night.

DAY 4 Private Transfer from Bryce Canyon Lodge to the Amangiri Resort – Peaceful Mountain

After Sunrise Viewing, you will enjoy nice leisurely breakfast before we commence our transfer to your next destination – the Amangiri Resort – about 2.5 hours drive. We will drive through the old Mormon Pioneer Land – Orderville and a “Little Hollywood” Kanab. Let our guide tell you the fascinating history of these places.

Orderville was established at the direction of Latter-day Saint leader Brigham Young in 1875 specifically to live United Order, a voluntary form of communalism defined by Joseph Smith. Although the United Order was practiced in many Utah communities during the late 1870s, Orderville was unique in both the level of success it experienced under the communal living style, and in the duration of the experiment. In the course of a few years, Orderville grew into a thriving, self-sufficient community. The success and relative wealth of the community attracted more settlers and Orderville grew to about 700 people. The Order continued in Orderville for approximately 10 years. During the early 1880s, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints lost interest in the experiment, but Orderville attempted to continue it. In 1885, the enforcement of the Edmunds Anti-Polygamy Act of 1882 effectively ended the Order by jailing many of the Order's leaders and driving many of the others underground.

Once we arrive at the Resort, you will enjoy lunch and have the rest of the day at your leisure. Your guide will give you an overview of activities offered at the Resort.

DAY 5 Relaxing day at The Amangiri Resort

Relax and rejuvenate in the middle of this ancient splendor of the Colorado Plateau region while surrounded by contemporary take on luxury in its accommodation, service, and food. Amangiri, which means “peaceful mountain,” is one of the newest outposts of Aman Resorts, the Singapore-based company that specializes in developing small, exclusive resorts in extraordinary and often out-of-the-way places. Adrian Zecha, its founder and a native of Indonesia, changed the face of resort conception and design in Asia and, through copycats, throughout the world. When the history of 20th-century luxury travel is written, Aman will have a chapter to itself. The rooms look out across a sea of sand billows to Studhorse Mesa and, in the distance, the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, a distance of some 50-80 million years, geologically speaking. The hotel boasts a wonderful spa and pool area that encapsulates the essence of the southwest. Amangiri resort has private yoga instructors that you may want to schedule for a meditative afternoon. Enjoy hiking the resort’s 2.5-mile Hoodoo Trail as the sun sets and the flaming cliffs slowly fade to black silhouettes. DAY 6 Full day exploring Lake Powell and Antelope Canyon

Today, your guide is taking you on the Lake. After breakfast, you are about to cruise through two famous Lake Powell Canyons: Antelope and Navajo. This tour offers some of the most breathtaking views on the lake - 9:00 – 11:30 am boat ride passing Glen Canyon Dam and Antelope Canyon, which is over 10 miles long. As you are admiring

towering Navajo Sandstone geologic formations with stunning red and burnt orange rocks, the Navajo Canyon’s walls reaching 600 feet above the water. (Due to fluctuating

water levels, this tour may be slightly longer than advertised.)

After lunch in nearby Page, AZ, we have arranged for a Navajo Indian led land tour of the Antelope Canyon (1:00-2:30 pm). We also highly recommend a short 25-minute Horseshoe Bend walk on the way back to your resort. See the stunning beauty for yourself.

DAY 7 Private Guided Tour of Monument valley; transfer to Sorrel River Ranch ~ Where the Earth meets the Sky ~ After breakfast, we will leave behind the serenity of Amangiri and head out towards Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. After 2.5 hour of scenic drive past Navajo National Monument, you will reach the sacred lands of this Nation. Monument Valley sits at 5,564 ft. above sea and John Wayne called its hidden valley “Gods Treasure”. The heights of these monuments range from 100 feet to 1,500 feet tall. The landscape overwhelms, not just by its beauty but also by its size. Miles of mesas and buttes, shrubs, trees and windblown sand, all comprising the magnificent colors of the valley, surround the fragile pinnacles of rock.

We have arranged for a Navajo Guide to show you around. There are certain sections of this park that are only accessible with a native Navajo Indian – The iconic Totem Pole, Suns Eye, Yei Bi Chei, The Navajo Village etc. After this tour, you will get to enjoy southwestern flavors of Navajo Native Dishes at the view restaurant. After lunch, as you are taking in the views of the southwestern desert landscape, our guide will escort you (about 3 hrs.) to your today’s destination – the Sorrel River Ranch, near Moab, UT, where you can relax for the rest of the day.

After breakfast at the Ranch, your guide will meet you to share the knowledge and passion for the unique place called Arches NP. Water and ice, extreme temperatures, and underground salt movement are responsible for the sculptured rock scenery in this park. One hundred million years of erosion and over 2,000 cataloged arches later, here we are, gazing at these playful tricks of Mother Nature… The iconic Delicate Arch (representing the very logo of our company and the state of Utah itself) is simply breathtaking. It is an isolated remnant of a bygone fin, standing on the brink of a canyon, with the dramatic La Sal Mountains as backdrop. A hike to this landmark is a must. At the beginning of this hike, your guide will show you a few pictograph and petroglyph panels left behind by the Ute Peoples. Other walks that our guide will suggest would include the Double Arch in The Windows Section (you probably have seen this very arch in the opening scene of the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Movie starring Harrison Ford). An easy 20-minute walk to the longest of them off all, the Landscape Arch, measuring 306 feet base to base is very well worth it! A picnic lunch will be provided so you can sit down and relax with the view of Balanced Rock in the background. We will return to the oasis of Sorrel River Ranch in the afternoon hours, just in time for you to freshen up and enjoy your delicious dinner on the banks of the Colorado River as the long shadows of the Sunrays illuminate these red rock canyon walls surrounding you.

DAY 9 Private Guided Full Day 4x4 tour of Dead Horse Point & Canyonlands National Park

“At first look it all seems like a geologic chaos, but there is method at work here… each groove in the rock leads to a natural channel of some kind, every channel to a ditch and gulch and ravine, each larger waterway to a canyon bottom or broad wash leading in turn to the Colorado River and the sea.” Edward Abbey A spectacular day lies ahead of you. Your Guide will meet you after breakfast in one of our Jeep 4x4 off road vehicles. A short drive on the Colorado River’s Potash Road will lead you to Long Canyon. This thrilling scenic “short cut” will bring us to the Dead Horse Point Plateau. Enjoy the view of the one of the most photographed places in the world!

It is only 20 more minutes from here to the entrance of Canyonland’s Island in the Sky District. Canyonlands remains largely untrammeled – its roads mostly unpaved, trails primitive, and rivers (the Colorado and the Green) free-flowing. Bighorn sheep, coyotes, and other native animals roam its 527 square miles. Canyonlands is wild America. Your guide will walk with you to the famous Mesa Arch, where you can enjoy a picnic lunch. In the afternoon hours you will have a chance to drive down breathtaking Shafer Trail back to Moab. The Shafer Trail offers an excellent opportunity to observe nearly the complete succession of rocks exposed in the Canyonlands region of Utah. The trail is actually a dirt road that begins near the top of the Jurassic Navajo Sandstone and descends to the Permian Cutler Formation. Uranium miners originally built the Shafer Trail road to transport ore extracted from the Triassic Chinle Formation during the middle part of the twentieth century… Long but magnificent day!!!

DAY 10 Last Day: Departing Sorrel River Ranch & Transfer to Grand Junction airport – 1.5 hour drive. Our guide will escort you to the airport for your departure home.
