1 Zion’s Borderline What is that picture that I see, So brilliant that it dazzles me? It calls me to a closer watch, And whispers, “Come, and feel and touch.” What is that haunting melody? Its beauty never sets me free. When I would faint, it prods me on, The music of a brighter dawn. Where is that land, the one I see, The one that always beckons me? Hold while I reach to touch the mount, And lead me to that holy fount. What is that joy that carries me? What is that glory that I see? A higher plane, I see the sign, Oh, plant my feet across the line.

2 Sing Me The Songs Of Zion, Saints Sing me The Songs of Zion, saints, and point me to the way. My blindness fades as faith sets in, so I can see the day. Tell me again how Zion’s land shall not remember pain, Then sing about my heart’s desire, the blessed latter reign. Sing me the songs I love to hear, tell me about the Seer. Oh, sing above the raging world, oh, sing away the fear. Repeat again the prophecy and clarify to me, Fair Zion blooms, you say it blooms, and I will shortly see. Sing once again the time has come, the hour is at the door, When peace shall reign a thousand years and war will be no more. Say it again, I love to hear my Jesus will I see, Will He be King upon the land, as it was told to me? Sing me The Songs of Zion, saints, and say again it’s near. As thunder roars across the sky, my heart is prone to fear. Come then, and make the message clear, and tell again to me, The Peaceful Reign is here it’s here! Be patient, and you’ll see.

3 Send Hunters And Fishers There are a people, a lost, hidden people, Fallen in darkness, and fallen in tears. But God will reclaim them, and He will reown them, Tho they’ve been scattered and driven for years. These are God’s people, and He loves His people, He will send hunters and fishers one day, To climb ev’ry hilltop and hunt ev’ry valley, Fish ev’ry river, and search ev’ry bay. God has a people, a forgotten people, They have a country and they have a name, But He will remember and send hunters for them, Clothe them with blessings and cover their shame. Call out the hunters and fishers to find them. Fish with the sunlight, and hunt with the moon, And run thru the caves and the rocks that surround them. Bring back my people, oh, bring them home soon. Chorus: Oh, send hunters to hunt them, and fishers to fish them, Gather My people wherever they be. Yes, send hunters to hunt them and fishers to fish them, Hunt ev’ry mountain and fish ev’ry sea.

4 Awake, Great Nation Awake, great nation, look around. There are no strongholds to be found, And ev’ry highway’s broken up. Arise and drink your bitter cup. Awake, great nation rise in haste. See ev’ry playground laid to waste, You’ve broken ev’ry great command, No longer sin controls the land. Awake, great nation, once so fair. The sound of death is in the air. Your greatest cities had to fall; The wrath of God has come to call. Awake, great nation, on your knees. Perhaps your God will hear your pleas; For He can give the victor’s shout, And drive the enemy without. Awake, great nation, see God’s band. Such few upon this once proud land. Oh, come and see the standard raise, And hear the remnant sing His praise. Chorus: By morning light your ruins stand, Awake and view the land. By morning light your ruins stand, Awake and view the land.

5 Ho, Sheep Oh, is there a little lamb lost from the fold? Could he be hurt now or could he be cold? Could there be danger alurking nearby? Do I hear a whimper, is that a cry? Oh, is there a wolf that has noticed him there? Does the lamb see it or doesn’t he care? Could he per chance make a run for the flock? Call out “Ho, sheep, Ho, sheep, run to the Rock.” The little lamb’s running, oh I see him now. The wolf’s determined for, I hear him howl. Throw the gate wide now and let the lamb in. The sheep will protect him, they are his kin. The lamb is so little please gather him up, He must have milk now, please pass him the cup. He is so thin and so worn from his flight. He ran from the wolf, he ran from the night. Oh, close the gate quickly and make it secure, The shepherd’s guarding; here safety is sure. Caution the little lambs, “Stay with the fold.” The wolf will not harm them, neither the cold. Chorus: “Ho, sheep, Ho, sheep,” The Kind Shepherd calls. Run quickly, little lambs, soon the night falls.

6 Lay Down The Weight, Son My son, do you carry a thing that’s called sin? And is your load heavy, has Satan come in? Well, Christ took your load back when He walked the hill. He took it then, son, and He takes it still. So come eat the honey prepared for you here. And come drink the milk, son, salvation is near. For He said, “My burden is easy”, you see. Lay all aside, son, and come unto me. And there’s my fair daughter, oh, where have you been? And where are you going so laden with sin? And can’t you see, child, that the Saviour still waits? Things you hold dear are the things that He hates. And so now, my children, He laid down the way, And you know the choice is before you today. And there stands your Saviour, the prints in His hands. The load you carry he so understands. With mercy He beckons to one lost in sin, The way is so easy, son, you can come in. And daughter, come quickly, your life He will fill. All loads are lifted at Calvary’s Hill. Chorus: Lay down the weight, son, lay down the weight, Daughter, ahead stands the bright shining gate. Lay all aside if you would enter in. Lay down your burden of sin.

7 Is It Nothing To You? Just the sign of a star, Then a cross carried far. Was it nothing to you, no, nothing to you? Somebody’s wounds bleeding sore, Somebody’s pain somebody bore. Just a Son, someone’s Son. Was He God’s only one? Is He nothing to you, no, nothing to you? Just a plan clearly laid, And oh, a price so dearly paid. Just a mob that was led, Precious blood that was shed. Was that nothing to you, no, nothing to you? Were the captives made free, By a death on a tree? Was redemption in vain? Is He coming again? Is it nothing to you, no, nothing to you? As you go on your way, Choosing sin ev’ry day, Chorus: If the story is true, Does it all mean nothing to you?

8 The Way Is Too Narrow “The way is too narrow, I cannot go in. The gate is too straight,” my friend said, for him. That such a pure gospel he would not receive, I cried when I heard it, I could not believe. “This pearl is so precious, so please come and see.” I pleaded and told him, “The gospel is free.” He thought the cost high thru the eyes of sin. “The way is too narrow,” he would not go in. I thought my heart broke when he laid it aside. Then I saw the tree where Jesus had died. And I saw His sorrow, because of my friend, “The way was too narrow,” he would not go in.

9 Keep Sorrow At The Gate Stop ENVY at the gate, for she is not welcome here. Run WEEPING on her way then, and dry up ev’ry tear. Here ev’rything that enters shall ne’er again know FEAR. Keep SORROW at the gate, friend, she cannot enter here. Tell PRIDE she must be banished, there is no room within. The LYING TONGUE has vanished, there is not place for SIN. Tell PAIN to go her way then, and SICKNESS standing near. Keep SORROW at the gate, friend, she cannot enter here. The feet that run to MISCHIEF, oh run them on their way. The WICKED cannot stand on this blessed Seventh Day. The gate’s so closely guarded, here enter LOVE and CHEER. Keep SORROW at the gate, friend, she cannot enter here.

10 I’ll Stand On That I have not seen the hand of God, I never walked heights many trod. On mountain tops I never sat, But God loves me; I’ll stand on that. The wealth of life was not my aim, I never had amazing fame. I never saw my Saviour’s face, But I can stand, for I’ve seen grace. I’ve never seen a heav’nly sight, But Jesus washed my garment white. And visions never came to me, But I can stand; by faith I see. I never met Apostle Paul, But I’ve met some who gave their all. I never knew the dead to raise, But I can stand and sing God’s praise. Chorus: On thrones of gold I never sat, But God loves me; I’ll stand on that.

12

11 Then You Can Enter In Is there some pity for those who have fallen? Is there some mercy for those lost in sin? Is there forgiveness for those who have hurt you? Then you can enter in. Is there some faith, now, in God’s holy promise? Have you clean hands, and washed of all sin? Is your heart pure and single in purpose? Then you can enter in. Is there some love shown for God’s holy people? Is there a sister you’ve helped on life’s way? Is there a brother you’ve lifted from sadness? Then you can enter in. Is your robe white with no spot upon it? Is there a hope in your heart, peace with in? Have you prayed often for those who need Jesus? Then you can enter in.

12 The Morning Shone Bright When It Came I’ve been thru the valley of night, I walked where no light shined for me, At the end I saw Jesus, my Friend, Had walked thru the valley with me. I climbed o’er the mountain of fear, I stumbled for many long years. Then I felt a hand wipe my tears, And I knew that Jesus was here. I walked where my feet could not stand, I searched o’er the dry, barren land. The shadow of death I could see, Then Jesus gave water to me, Chorus: The morning shone bright when it came, And Jesus was there, praise His name.

13 Loose The Chains, Lord I’ll never know why God’s great love reached down for such as I, For one so bound by sin and pride; He could have passed me by. He moved my mountain, He parted my sea, He loosed my chains and set this poor sinner free. He moved my mountain, He parted my sea, He loosed my chains and set this poor sinner free. I’ll never comprehend such pow’r that sets a pris’ner free, I’ll never understand such love, to rescue such as me. He paid my ransom, He took my part, He laid my past aside, let my new life start. He paid my ransom, He took my part, He laid my past aside, let my new life start. There are so many people bound till they cannot get free. And oh, such awful chains and bonds, the kind that circled me. So loose the chains, Lord, and break the band, And thru Thy love and grace let salvation stand. So loose the chains, Lord, and break the band, And thru Thy love and grace let salvation stand.

14 Crossing The Line Knowing God’s love, and seeing His mercies, Feeling the joy of His grace divine; Refusing the call but one time too often; Then justice must rule when God’s draws the line. How sad the thought that God can come later, Pleasures of life will come first today; God’s Spirit must grieve to look on this people Rejecting His call and running away. There comes a time when hearts become hardened, They cannot feel God’s Spirit divine. So bitter the tears of sinning with knowledge; Repentance is vain when you cross the line. Chorus: When the Spirit cries, “Stop!” You must not go further. God sets a limit, and God draws a line. And pity the man who takes one step further, Denying it all by crossing the line.

15 Descending The Stairs The young man descended the stairs to the deep As the dark dreary waste pulled him in. He left far behind him the word and the way, And the place he sat down was named sin. The young girl fell often, the path was so dark, But her wounds, buried deep, seldom show. For tears come less often in this place, she found, Where the blind lead the blind as they go. The friends passing thru never carried a light, And the days, like the nights, took their toll. A hopeless estate had enveloped the place, And a sickness possessed ev’ry soul. Chorus: Look up and see your Saviour’s face, His hands held out; Amazing grace. That sword pierced side, ‘twas all for you. Look up and live your life anew.

16 Choose Ye This Day (Joshua 14:15) If you would live on heaven’s shore, With ones so dear, you so adore; A mansion bright, you would reserve, Choose ye this day whom you will serve. If you would taste of glory sweet, Lay ev’ry sin at Jesus’ feet. And if you’d walk on streets of gold, You must first walk in Jesus’ fold. If you would look on Jesus’ face, Then enter in, be saved by grace. Earth’s treasures quickly turn to rust, As earthly bodies turn to dust. The shadows fall as night sets in, A dark abyss for souls in sin. Repent, repent, of all deeds done, Lest Satan claim another one. Chorus: Choose carefully your master now, To Jesus Christ each knee must bow. If heaven’s home you would reserve, Choose ye this day whom you will serve.

17 A Vision On The Mountain Like the rays of sun in winter, Like a robin in the spring. Like the flowers line the valley, There is hope in everything. Like the resurrection morning, Like the easing after pain. Like a dream survives the sorrow, Like a lily thru the rain. Like the moon breaks up the darkness, Like a promise close at hand. Like a vision on the mountain, Far the prettiest in the land. Chorus: For the mother’s cries diminish when the labor brings the child. Where the roaring of the lion is no longer fierce and wild. And the beauty of that city is portrayed to all the earth, Till the tribes receive the message of the mother giving birth.

18 A Voice In The Wilderness A voice in the wilderness crying, “Prepare.” So few like the sound; few seem to care. The day long foretold is dawning, you see, But the faithless say, laughing, “Then show it to me.” The voice in the wilderness keeps crying on, “Trim your lamps daily; time soon is gone.” A day unsurpassed the prophets declare, But the doubters say, “Show me,” the scorners say, “Where?” A voice in the wilderness cries, can you hear? “Recount my worthies; battle is near.” This land, promised land, must be free from sin, Ere the kingdom of Zion can ever begin. Chorus: Oh hear the voice in the wilderness crying today, “Prepare ye my people, prepare for the day.” Oh hear the voice, hear the voice in the wilderness say, “Prepare ye my people, prepare for the day.”

19 God’s Still On His Throne With blessings briefly laid aside and reasons never known, One sweet thought consoles my mind: God’s still on His throne. So many times caught unprepared when sights unreal are shown, One thought brightens dark dismay: God’s still on His throne. Oh, when the battle cries are heard, and shattered are His own, Then I whisper to myself: God’s still on His throne. But oh, what vision lights the way when wondrous love is shown, And a silent voice repeats: God’s still on His throne. When winter’s chill comes far too soon, and summer’s warmth has flown, What a precious truth to know: God’s still on His throne. Chorus: God’s still on His throne, go tell it, God’s still on His throne. Heaven knows it and earth shows it. God’s still on His throne.

20 My Father Does His Perfect Work My Father does His perfect work Where mortal men might fail or shirk. He sees where man has never seen, And perfectly does ev’rything; And perfectly does ev’rything. My Father washes all the flow’rs And numbers all the days and hours. He spreads His work across the land, And none can stay my Father’s hand; And none can stay my Father’s hand. My Father guides the sparrow thru, Then how much more His children, too. Removes the cloud, that we might see His perfect work more perfectly; His perfect work more perfectly. A thousand years of perfect days With songs of sweet perfecting praise. And know ye this, no man can stop The music on the mountain top; The music on the mountain top.

21 Passing Over The Perils Life holds many perils as we journey thru, We must overcome them if we would be true. Running from the robber that would steal my soul, Watching, fasting, praying, till I reach my goal. Perils of false brethren, shattering and cold, Weariness and weakness entering the fold. Walking over coals that never touch my feet, Running after Jesus, shielded from the heat. Sitting in the darkness, sullen beasts I see, Watching ev’ry weak one, watching you and me. Blinding light defies them, brightly shine, oh shine, Passing over the perils, Jesus’ hand in mine. Beaten, never fallen, holding still His hand, Passing thru the perils rampant in the land. Happy is the soul when, reaching heaven’s shore, Passing over the perils, safe forevermore. Chorus: Perils in the city, perils in the wilds, Running from the dangers, riding on the clouds. Perils by the heathen, perils by my own, Reaching for my Saviour, touching heaven’s throne.

22 Second To God Goodly parents were mine, like Nephi of old, And lessons learned, never forgot. And I knew, as a child, God’s proper place: He must always come first, mother taught. “Do you really love me?” My father would ask. With a smile my mother would nod. I felt warm inside when mother replied, “Don’t you know, you come second to God.” Daily growing in life, and blessed thru the years, Just happy in knowing my place. Now teaching the lessons once taught to me, Standing second to God by His grace. Say, oh how are you living, what rules your life? As for blessings you hunger and thirst. Remember the lessons once taught to me, God must always, must always come first. Chorus: Standing second to God by His grace, Oh, Hallelujah, such a high place. How happy for me, and how blessed to be Standing second to God by His grace.

23 Deliverance Broke The Dawn It’s breakfast time, the dawn has broke, call ev’ryone to dine. The mornings here so bright and clear, come feast on food divine. Ye faithful ones, ye children dear, come gather ‘round the feast. Arise, arise, partake and eat, your labor long has ceased. Come gather in, ye weary ones, ye wand’rers of the night. The tables spread, it’s breakfast time, the morn has dawned so bright. Go gather in the halt and maimed, the cripple on the way. Go lead the blind, and bring them in; their eyes shall see this day. Oh, watchman, look along the road, what trav’ler do you see? Is that fair Israel on the way, returning home to Me? Bring forth the calf, begin the song, present the golden ring. The celebration bells call out to ev’ry living thing. Chorus: Sing praises loud, sing praises long, Deliv’rance broke the dawn, As ev’ry beast and ev’ry child With joy breaks forth in song.

24 The Day He Found Me My path had never found direction, Not a day had held perfection. Then I met Jesus on the way, Oh what a blessed, happy day. All past days seem so long, so dreary, Such a sad, lost soul so weary. But then such glory came my way When Jesus found me that glad day. Now even dark days hold bright sunshine. Praise God, now my paths a straight line. Since Jesus set the Spirit’s fire. My heart is filled with new desire. Chorus: Precious day, He gave my eyes sight, Lovely day, He sent my path light; Since the day Jesus made me whole, A fire is burning in my soul.

25 Singing On The Mountain (Isaiah, Chapter 35)

Tomorrow’s latter glory puts today behind in shame. When kingdoms pale beside the tale of Zion’s rising fame. When music magnifies from ev’ry harp, from ev’ry bird, And they’ll be singing on the mountain, such as never has been heard, Ah, they’ll be singing on the mountain, such as never has been heard. The blind will stare in wonder, at the endless majesty. The lame and heavy laden leap for joy that they are free. The tongue that never spoke will harmonize with ev’ry bird, And they’ll be singing on the mountain, such as never has been heard, Ah, they’ll be singing on the mountain, such as never has been heard. The cheers will ring when Joseph’s colors climb the mountain slope. With spotted pony riders crying tears of joy and hope. Call ev’ry chief musician, ev’ry instrument of praise, For they’ll be singing on the mountain, in these the latter days. Yes, they’ll be singing on the mountain, in these the latter days. The sun will light the morning like a golden ball of flame, When Israel gathers ‘round the Lord to sing and praise His name. The ancient latter glory shines again, oh spread the word. And they’ll be singing on the mountain, such as never has been heard. Ah, they’ll be singing on the mountain, such as never has been heard.

26 Come All Ye That Thirst (Isaiah 55:1)

My Father looks down on a dry, dying nation, Extending His hand to all who pass by. And I hear Him call out, “Can there be any thirsty? This cup, if ye drink, ye never need die.” Cry not for the aged, and no tears for the infant, Tho’ death cuts the heart many times like a knife. Save your tears for the ones who die by the fountain, Refusing to taste the waters of life. My Father controls the times and the seasons, And He knows the hour when mercy goes by. He has underground springs where rivers are flowing, And fountains so pure, with endless supply. Chorus: Come all ye that thirst, There’s no need to perish, My Father has wells that never run dry. He has cool mountain streams, He has free running water. He has rivers of life, and there’s no need to die.

27 Sing Hallelujah! There is a Saviour, they call Him Jesus. They say no other can save from sin. Now He’s my father, my dearest brother, So step aside, world, and let my new friend in. When I was drifting, He dropped the anchor, When I was outcast, He brought me in. When I was sinking, He threw the lifeline, When I was dying, He let me live again. When I was losing, He won the battle, When I was anxious, He calmed the fear. When I cried, “Help me,” He reached to save me, When I had no one, I found this friend so dear. Chorus: So let me praise Him, For I adore Him And I will sing it forevermore, Oh, hallelujah! Sing hallelujah! I found the lifeboat, praise God, I made the shore.

28 The Standard Of Liberty Men long in battle, a lifetime of fighting, But years creep upon them and time starts to show. Holding positions while calling replacements, Where are there some brave men, some willing to go? Why do you tarry, son? Run, hasten, hurry. The night is not yielding, the battle wears on, Hear the cries from the frontlines, “Send help badly needed,” To carry the Standard of Liberty on. Strong soldiers needed to raise up the Standard, The Title of Liberty lift to the sword. Stand for your country, and stand for your fam’ly, But surely and foremost, son, stand for the Lord. Why do wait, son? The battle is raging, And many young soldiers have long gone to war. There’s no need on the sidelines, and none on the backlines, But only the frontlines are pleading for more. Calling, recruiting, our Great High Commander, While looking around Him sees, sadly I fear; Satan, that lion, is holding dear loved ones and whisp’ring, “Stay with me another long year.” Stand with God’s help, son, defending the Title With true men of valor, the best in the land. Teaching only pure doctrine, and sound revelation, And living with vision of peace in the land.

29 Waving The Death Angel Over Come, weary one, there is rest in the Lord. Lay your tired head on his shoulder. Lay down the load that the world laid on you, Feel all your tiredness pass over. Come, hungry soul, would you faint from the drought? Come where the cup’s running over. Taste the sweet fruit that is sweet above all, Feel all your hunger pass over. Come, broken heart, broken life, to the Lord. Stay till the healing is over. Soothing the oil on the wounds that you bear, Making the hurting pass over. Come, dying sons, there is life in the Lamb. He gave His blood sin to cover. Blessed are they who the blood have applied, Passing the death angel over. Chorus: Pass from the emptiness, pass from the pain. Pass from the dying to living again. Oh, how precious the blood of the Lamb on the door, Waving the death angel o’er.

30 Touch The Nailprints, Know For Certain Star of David, shining silver, See your great Redeemer lives. Gather ‘round Him, House of Israel. Taste forgiveness that He gives. Touch the nailprints, know for certain. Feel the pain He felt for you. He can save where none deliver, He can do what none can do. See the angel, there beside you, Hear the message he relays, “Jesus Christ will reign forever. Heav’n and earth will sing His praise.” Fall before Him, crucifiers, All who nailed Him to the tree. With His blood He sealed your pardon, By His grace He makes you free. Star of David, what a wonder In the heavens has been shown. Such compassion, such great splendor, Bringing mercy to His own. Tenderly His arms encircle, Israel’s tears begin to fall. Bow before this Lamb of Glory, King of Kings and Lord of all.

31 There’s No Rainbow Can Shine Like Jesus I’ve seen the springtime in all its splendor, I’ve watched with pleasure the falling snow, And oh, what beauty I found in autumn, But there’s no beauty on earth compared to one I know. I heard a songbird break thru the darkness, I heard a sweet song break thru to fame, And strong men weeping, a small girl singing, But there’s just nothing I’ve heard as sweet as Jesus’ name. I’ve seen His love shine like summer sunshine, I’ve seen His mercy spread out like dew, And with great wonder I’ve seen compassion, And all I’ve seen you’ll see, if you watch closely, too. Chorus: For there’s no rainbow can shine like Jesus, And there’s no sunset can match His glow, And there’s no mountain can stand above Him, Oh, there’s just nothing I’ve seen compared to Him I know.

32 One Last Pruning See the lab’rers in the vineyard. Count their number, note the few. Heed the word, the invitation, One last call, a call for you. Cast your lot and choose your people, Stand today and be a man. Time is fleeing, night’s approaching, Work the vineyard while you can. See a million standing idle, While the call continues loud, “Ev’ry man, to each a penny, Prune my vineyard growing wild.” One last time for one last pruning, God would have a people true. Nothing vile, no unclean being, None to mar fair Zion’s view.

33 I Saw The Wicked Flourish Like A Green Bay Tree I saw the wicked flourish like a green bay tree, With pow’rful, lofty branches waving over me. I looked again to see the end, and there I found My Father touched that tree for me, And laid it on the ground. Chorus: He said, “Never fear my little child, I’m here.” He said, “Never fear my little child, I’m here.” I saw the wicked thriving like the grass in spring, Then spreading out and taking over ev’rything. The lilies were so crowded they were falling down. My Father touched that grass I saw, Then all the grass turned brown. Chorus: He said, “Never fear my precious flow’rs, I’m here.” He said, “Never fear my precious flow’rs, I’m here.” I saw the wicked coming with their swords drawn out, Descending on the vineyard with a mighty shout To carry off the fruit and cut away the vine. My Father turned their swords on them, He said, “that fruit is Mine.” Chorus: He said, “Never fear my little vine, I’m here.” He said, “Never fear my little vine, I’m here.” I saw the wicked standing back like wolves at bay, But hunger drove them closer to the sheep each day. The lambs began to shiver, who could drive them back? My Father took his finger then, And slew the whole wolf pack. Chorus: He said, “Never fear my little lambs, I’m here.” He said, “Never fear my little lambs, I’m here.”

34 An Era Such As Never Known An era such as never known, a prophecy, a dream, No earthly artist ever drew the splendor of the scene. But deep in thought to see the things God’s Spirit showed the wise, His mercy intervened for me and touched these mortal eyes. And I saw joy, more joy than I ever saw before, And I saw love, oh love, such love and I saw more; When I saw peace she was reigning like a queen, And happiness like I have never seen, Pearly city, pure white city, caught the morning light, Silver showers, heaven’s showers washing all things bright. Praises echo thru the land all creatures join the song, And ev’ry living thing calls back God’s praises all day long. And all the mountains sing, and the hills break forth in song, And all the trees and grass clap hands and sing along; And all the flow’rs join in the harmony, But there’s no words describing what I see. Ancient city, latter glory, prophecy’s delight, Sending forth ambassadors to spread the gospel’s light. “I’m home at last”, a voice cries out, a rainbow shines today, And ev’ryone cries “Israel dear, how long you’ve been away!” Then all the trumpets blow with a sound of victory, And all the strings play back a perfect symphony; And when the bells chime I see each scene unfold, And I know now, the half has not been told.

35 From Every Ancient Burial Site The resurrection morning will be shining bright and clear, And ev’ry eye shall see the Lord, and ev’ry ear shall hear. For ev’ry grave shall open on that resurrection morn, And ev’ry body rise again that ever had been born. From ev’ry hillside grave they’ll come, from ev’ry hidden tomb, Come ev’ry child who e’er was born from any mother’s womb. Then ev’ry vault will open wide and ev’ry graveyard green, And ev’ry body held beneath will rise up to be seen. The books will all be opened wide, and ev’ry life be read, When “On My right or on My left” will be the last words said, The earth must yield her bodies long held captive in the clay, And ev’ry deed you’ve ever done will stand with you that day. Chorus: From the ocean’s blackness to the resurrection’s light, Beneath the desert floors they’ll come from ev’ry ancient burial site. From ev’ry jungle’s lost confine, from ev’ry river bed, For ev’ry field and mound on earth must then give up their dead.

36 Remove Every Stumbling Block There is no power that God can not conquer, And there is no battle that He cannot win for you, Children of sorrow, if you’ll only let Him, Then He will erase ev’ry vestige of sin. And remove ev’ry stumbling block, Dissolve ev’ry obstacle, Destroy ev’ry fortress where evil could hide, And break down ev’ry standing wall that sin has constructed, Untie ev’ry silken cord that Satan has tied. And He’ll send you a sunny day And drive ev’ry cloud away, And lift ev’ry shadow that follows along, And put joy where the pain had been And wash off the stain of sin, Forget ev’ry place you’ve been, Forgive ev’ry wrong.

37 Weighed In The Balance

The lifespan of man passes quickly, For the days and the years seem to roll. And the great things of God take the background, it seems, While the pleasures of life take control. You’ll think it’s not real when it’s over, Oh, you’ll think it was dreamt in the night. For life ran away, and you lost it somewhere; All the vain things have vanished from sight. Now good cannot raise up as evil, And no evil can raise up as good. For the day of the great restitution awaits, And the balance will read as it should. Chorus: We’ll be weighed in the balance some morning, And the scales of the Lord never lie. For mercy can never rob justice, you know, When you’re weighed in the balance on high.

38 The Ending Of The Sorrow America, the Promised Land, Oft watered by the Father’s hand. So blessed of fame, none can compare; A land that did away with prayer. The Father searches far and wide And finds a few who still abide. A nation torn apart by strife While sinners boast their way of life. While trampling down the sacred things, A nation falls, while laughter rings. But somewhere from the sinner’s view The Lord has hid a chosen few. America, a land of grace, A haven for the human race. With bounty springing from the sod; A land that turned away from God. The Father watches from His throne, And sees the few He calls His own. Chorus: Still standing on the word of God While holding up the principles, And praying for the ending of the sorrow. Still watching all the signs of time While waiting at the borderline, Just seeing what the Lord will do tomorrow.

39 Taste The Grass On The Summit The Good Shepherd looks down from the mountain, And He searches the place of His Sheep. For some eat the scrubs on the lowlands, While some climb the mountain so steep. The lower the path once discovered, The lower the sheep tend to go. Where the grass has been beat by the footsteps, Leaving little to nourish below. The young lambs make a try for the mountain, While the wolves make a try for lambs. The kind Shepherd cries out when He sees it, And He runs out to rescue His lambs. The path up the mountain grows over, For few heed the Shepherd’s sad plea. Still the call echoes down thru the valley, “Higher sheep, climb up higher to Me”. Chorus: Come sheep, taste the grass on the summit, Sheep come, breathe the pure mountain air. “Climb higher,” the Good Shepherd cries, “Higher, For the pasture is much sweeter there.”

40 When The Flood Waters Rise Lo, the Great Ark of Safety, her doors open wide, And all who that enter find safety inside. There’s nothing alive on the waters of sin, And the Lord Jesus Christ said, “Ye must enter in”. Oh, the wind sounds a warning, the Ark sends a plea, “If you would be saved, then you must come to Me.” So scorn not the warning, for life quickly flies; There’ll be nobody laughing when the flood waters rise. With a life spent in wasting, with life spent in vain, With eating and drinking, with dreaming to gain. There’ll be nobody dreaming when the last dreamer dies, There’ll be no more time wasting when the flood waters rise. Chorus: For it’s too late to run when the tide rushes in, And there’s no man escaping the wages of sin. ‘Tis written, these words on the darkening skies, “There’s nothing can stand when the flood waters rise.”

41 Small Sins Sin is painted like a picture, Beautiful and truly fine. Sin’s a scoffer, it’s a laugher, Sin’s a mocker like wine. Great deceiver, grand illusion, Masquerading as the light. Be ye careful, precious children, Lest your robes be not so white; Lest your robes be not so white. “’Tis a small sin,” Satan whispers Like an angel in your ear, He’s a liar, falsifier, Knowing death’s waiting there. Death, the stealer, it’s a taker, It’s a robber in the night. Be ye watching, precious children, Keep your candles shining bright; Keep your candles shining bright. Sin can sparkle, like a diamond, Pretty pictures in your mind. Silken cords can hold forever, Silver threads can bind. Jesus Christ, the Mighty Warrior, Riding over death and sin. Over coming once forever, Precious children, follow Him; Precious children, follow Him.

42 Too Small For Great Things Some do the great things when God allows, Some crawl a few steps, some run for miles. But God assigns each a task to do, And in His wisdom He gives to you. Some ride the mountain, some walk the sky, And in the battle some have to die. Some keep the home fires, some blaze the trail, Some carry over where others fail. Some see tomorrow, some just today. Some paint the picture, some point the way. Some God gives knowledge so they can go And teach the slow ones, so they can grow. Chorus: Among God’s children some stand so small, Too frail to venture alone at all. The Father keeps these close by His side, Too small for great things, but satisfied.

43 He Held His Arms And I Ran In Christ Jesus found me lost in sin, He called for me, then called again. He turned His hands so I could see The scars of Calvary. I heard Him whisper, “Run from sin”, He held His arms and I ran in. He wiped my tears and washed my sin, And what I was, I’ll never be again; And what I was, I’ll never be again. Christ Jesus called me out of sin, I heard my name and ran to Him. He bathed me in the crimson tide, He warmed me in the sun. He dressed me head to toe in white, I’ve never seen a day so bright. I’ve never heard the birds so sing, And never found such joy in anything; I never found such joy in anything. Christ Jesus washed my sins away, Not to return but gone to stay, And all the places I had been I’ll never go again. He wrapped me in the morning light, The angels called down, “Lovely sight!” I’d never heard of love like this, And never found forgiveness such as His; I never found forgiveness such as His.

44 Like a Child Life passes by with the questions not answered, Not understanding the things that I hear. Just happy having my Father beside me, And knowing someday it all will be clear. Standing here in the midst of confusion, And often earnestly searching the sky. The whole world with its madness surrounds me, And I cry, “Father, my Father, ‘tis I.” Reading writings I cannot decipher, And asking help from my Father on high. But like a child with a small understanding, Not fully grasping my Father’s reply. Chorus: Not knowing how to go out or come in, Lord. Like a child, never sure of the way. Not often having the answers before me, But only trusting my Father each day.

45 Deliverance From Time To Time Oh praise the Lord, He looks to earth, Touching the smallest, lending worth; While sparing life, and giving birth, And deliverance from time to time. Deliverance from time to time. The Father sees the things we bear, And hears the heartbreak in the pray’r, And sends assurance He is there With deliverance from time to time. Deliverance from time to time. Oh praise God’s name, there’s none so great. He runs to rescue while we wait. He never comes a day too late With deliverance from time to time. Deliverance from time to time.

46 If I Could Please Thee, Lord, Today I watched the sun rise from its rest, And such a longing filled my breast. My heart sincerely asks the way That I could please Thee, Lord, today! The sun rides upward in the sky, And like the sun, my hope runs high. Lord, show my soul some better way, So I could please Thee, Lord, today! Such brightness blinds these mortal eyes. Lord grand me be a servant wise; Lend guidance as I kneel to pray. Just let me please Thee, Lord, today! Now, as the sun hides in the west, I wonder so, was this my best? My heart would sing to hear You say That I have pleased Thee, Lord, today!

47 Zion’s City Fair Zion’s city, shining bright; Thru her tears she saw the light. With outstretched arms the woman came, In dreams she’d often seen the same. In great travail she touched the wall, Thru tear-dimmed eyes she saw it all. There she saw a pillar stand, And a banner o’er the land. There the lamb and lion played, There the chosen humbly prayed. Ev’ry thing therein was white; Visions burst upon her sight. Twelve angels guard the city door; All that enter there are pure. Here her Savior leads the band, And they’re triumphant o’er the land. Here the woman’s pain subsides; In this land she now resides. Where blessings fall like driven rain, Banishing all death and pain. Fair Zion’s city shining bright; Gone forever sin and night. Where the woman’s dressed in white, And Jesus only is the light. Chorus: In latter days her glory shone, In latter days her glory shone, In latter days her glory shone, In latter days her glory shone.

48 To View The Promised Land

Oh Father, God of Abraham, and Israel’s God and mine; Send light today upon my way, and make my pathway shine. Come lead me thru this veil, this shroud, this hazy passage thru; There’s not a thing to fear, I know, if I could walk with You. Chorus: Renew each day the hope I have, the hope on which I stand; A hope that goes beyond the veil, to view the promised land. To view the promised land, ah yes, to view the promised land, A hope that goes beyond the veil, to view the promised land. Oh Father, God of joy and love, oh Prince of grace and peace; The wind may howl, but when You smile the storm has got to cease. The waves obey, the clouds divide, the lightning bows to thee; So take my hand an hour today, and walk awhile with me. Chorus: Renew each day the hope I have, the hope on which I stand; A hope that rides above the storm, to view the promised land. To view the promised land, ah yes, to view the promised land, A hope that rides above the storm, to view the promised land. Oh Father dear, great Bab’lons wall stands silent, grim, and tall; But just one word from You, I know, and it would have to fall. Oh God of all the universe, of Abraham and I; The world can never stop the flow of mercy from the sky. Chorus: Renew each day the hope I have, the hope on which I stand; A hope that climbs the highest wall, to view the promised land. To view the promised land, ah yes, to view the promised land, A hope that climbs the highest wall, to view the promised land.

49 This Journey Thru The Wilderness This journey thru the wilderness leaves many lost and fallen on the way, Confused and charmed by Satan’s wiles, some seem to have a tendency to stray. A call to arms, ye faithful few, come rally round; a last defense is nigh. For ev’ry prayer ascending up will surely reach the Father’s throne on high. This wilderness we’re trav’ling thru finds many running back to yesterday. Forsaking ev’ry promise, ev’ry blessing they had known along the way. Let wisdom find her children holding tightly to the Savior’s guiding hand. Until one day the clearing breaks and we can see ahead the Promised Land. Chorus: A small sound tapping lightly, Is that Zion? Is she knocking at the door? A shadow falls across the land, and when it does, then I can see no more. So I will look to heaven now, depending on assurance from above. All fear departs and joy sets in to know that we’re surrounded by God’s love.

50 Pictures Of Life I’ve seen the desperation of a thousand on the way, And I have seen some prodigals return. I’ve had many mysteries made plain before my eyes, And I was shown the things I’ve yet to learn. I’ve seen such desolation in the faces passing by, And I have seen the sorrow that sin brings. I was shown if I would walk the straight and narrow way, These feet must walk away from many things. Now I have walked a road that, at the time, seemed very hard. And I have seen great miracles, and more. My hands have held this plain and precious gospel very close, And I was shown the things I must endure. Oh, I’ve been shown how God has loved His people very clear, And I have known for years they are my own. I have seen great blessings showered upon them ev’ryday, And I have seen the burdens they have known. I’ve seen the many pictures on the avenues of life, And I have seen the broken and the whole. Of all the sights and wonders that my eyes have ever seen, The greatest is the saving of a soul.

51 Look To The Right, Child Look to the right, child, look to the right. Flee from the shadows, so dark the night. Search for the brightness where the light shines. Surrender to Jesus while there is time. Look to the right, child, look to the right. Reach for the hand, child, while it’s in sight. New hope is coming, brighter the day. And Jesus will help you lighten your way. Look to the right, child, look to the light. Run to the ark, child, hasten your flight. Cleave to the rod, child, hold fast today. And don’t let the storm, child, wash you away. Look to the right, child, therein abide. Avoid the chasm, avoid the tide. Many the sorrow, which you must flee. So hold up your white flag, Jesus will see.

52 The Sea So Great, Lord, My Boat So Small One day it came, a storm within my soul. The sky grew dark, the clouds began to roll. The ocean raged, the waves grew tall. The sea so great, Lord, my boat so small. The clouds grow darker, the lighthouse looks so dim. Please throw a line, Lord, come and take me in. The rocks are close now, I see them all. The sea so great, Lord, my boat so small. He saw my plight, He heard my helpless plea. His hand came down and calmed the troubled sea. When storm clouds roll He hears me call. The sea so great, Lord, my boat so small. Chorus: The ocean’s deep, Lord, and very wide, With many dangers as on I ride. So be my Captain and be my Guide, And take me safely across the tide.

53 The Traveler The trav’ler walked slowly and dressed very poorly; I thought him a beggar, at least. But his feet never faltered, he never sat down, And the song that he sang never ceased. What made him so happy as he went his way? Oh, I knew that I had to find out. When I studied his face and I saw such a glow, Then I asked what his trip was about. He said if I wanted that I could go too; The way to arrive he was showing. And he told me a king had prepared him a home In this city where he was going. He told me with patience the pathway to take, To this heavenly home so divine. And he told me the joy of the saints I would know, And the same song they sang would be mine. I ran close behind him desiring to see There this pathway more perfectly clear. For he carried a book that he said showed the way To the gates of that city so fair. I followed the way that the book said to go, And this same joy then entered my heart. For I knew right away that this journey was blessed, And I saw many more make the start. They sang a new song as they traveled along, With the joy of the saints shining thru. Tho’ the road may be long, still the journey won’t end Till this heavenly city’s in view. Chorus: For he sang of a King above, And his song was “redeeming love.” Yes, he sang of a King above, And his song was “redeeming love.”

54 God’s Touch God touched the darkness, then light filled the room, God touched the weary and chased off the gloom. God touched the little bird and gave it a song, God touched the newborn and soon it stood strong. God touched the rain and the rainbow came forth, God touched the small thing and gave it great worth. God touched the sea when the storm was severe, God touched the sad life and filled it with cheer. God touched the tiny bud, then it opened wide, God touched the hard heart when He came inside. God touched the plain one then beauty soon shone, God touched the orphan and made him His own. God touched the dying when He saw the fear, God touched the lonely when He saw the tear. God touched the lost one, to show him the way, God touches and touches day after day.

55 Checking On Me Do I look in the mirror to check ev’ryday. Then quickly forget it and go on my way? Does the Spirit still caution me when I need shown, Or get weary trying and leave me alone? Is my lamp trimmed or has it gone out, And is my mind stable or tossing about? Would I feel some shame if God knew where I went? Did I do the task unto which I was sent? Have these hands planted but only good seed, And have I been quick, then, to see ev’ry need? Among God’s dear people do I have a seat, And say, can a weaker one follow my feet? Are my hands lifting up one that is lost, And do I stop often for counting the cost? Are my intentions just what they should be, And is there a weaker one looking to me? Are my eyes viewing the things that they should, And are my ears hearing but only the good? Do I walk daily without any strife, Or say, could I possibly better my life?

56 Nothing There Man searches a lifetime to find peace of mind, While leaving the Giver of peace far behind. He never will find peace, tho’ he search the world thru. “This world has no peace,” Christ said, “I give to you.” Is happiness something you dream of so much, A distant mirage that you lovingly watch? Then, running to get there, so fast that you fall, But waking to find it was not real at all. Do life’s great achievements and vict’ries seem vain, With winning and losing both feeling the same? How shallow the laughter, how deep are the tears, While searching for something to fill up the years. Do you have an emptiness hidden inside, A void in the soul that’s so deep and so wide? But trying to fill it, where nothing is found, While frantically searching the whole world around. Chorus: Search the mountains, it’s not there, streams, it’s not there, Countries abroad it’s not there, it’s not there. Trying silver and gold, it’s not there, Outside the fold, nothing there, empty there. If from emptiness you would be free, Then Jesus said, “Come unto me.”

57 Oh, Where Are My Children? “Oh, where are my children?” the mother cried out, “I have so many, they must be about. I taught them of Jesus and they know the way, So where are my children, my children today?” She ran down the aisle and her question brought tears. She searched thru the rows and she searched thru the years. She thought some wild beast surely hindered their way, While blessings kept falling on others each day. She ran to the door, looking out in the night. To think these were once dear children of light. She said, “I must find them, for I cannot rest, And bring them to Jesus, where they can be blessed.” She traveled the dark road, her voice ringing loud, “Oh, where are my children? This place is so wild!” Then piercing the darkness her eyes caught the snare, She cried thru the tangle, “Release him with care.” She held him so close as she carried him home, Asking, “Oh why, son, did you think to roam?” She ran to the church door and opened it wide, Then ever so gently, she laid him inside. She said, “I must run now; I have may others. Fair sons and daughters, your sisters and brothers. But you will be safe here if you’ll only stay; The rest of my children are so far away.”

58 My Place I’m grown, mother, now I must find life’s meaning. I’m older, father, I’ll find the joys of life. I know I’m wiser than so many others, And I just know I’ll find my place in life. I’m grown, mother, I’ll go where I hear laughter. I’m older, father, I’ll satisfy my soul. I’ll surely serve God some day, you know, after, But right now I must find my place in life. I’m grown, mother, I’ll search for satisfaction. I’m older, father, there’s wondrous things to try. And if so many find such joy in darkness, Then there’s no question, surely so could I. I’m grown, mother, so why do I feel empty? I’m older, father, and I’m too old to cry. This void my soul feels will surely leave me, For I just have to find my place in life. I’m growing, mother, I think I found the answer. I’m wiser, father, my eyes can finally see. Without God there is no joy in living. Oh, wondrous grace! God found my place for me. Chorus: I heard the answer ringing clear: Your life was bought, the price was dear. I heard the answer ringing clear: Your life was bought, the price was dear.

59 To See The Morning Light There’s a scene of ancient splendor, it’s a day born new and free; Like a baby in a cradle, ev’rybody’s come to see. There’s a crowd fast now approaching, Coming in from far and near, And when the mother holds the baby up, All the people start to cheer. There’s a day born like an infant, Never was a child more blest. There’s a Sabbath from creation, There’s a Seventh Day of Rest. It’s the world’s new greatest wonder, See the mother proudly there, And when the baby leaves the cradle, Ev’rybody starts to cheer. There were promised lands before us, There’s a promised land today. And the news has reached the scattered tribes, Bringing thousands on the way. Many nations still arriving, And they all stand back and stare While little Zion takes it’s first step, Then they all break down and cheer. Chorus: And they cry, “Ah, we knew the day would come”, And “praise the Lord, He kept us through the night.” And “God is good, He brought us thru the wilderness.” And “let’s all thank the Lord that we’re alive to see the morning light.”

60 The Valleys Are Green, Sir There’s a land that’s called Canaan, say, can anyone see? Is there any clear sighting? Bring the message to me. Is it time to go further? Is it safe to proceed? Much depends on the answer; it’s a sighting we need. There’s a land that’s my heart’s land, that my soul grieves to see. It’s the land of my people, runner please run for me. Run as far as you can run, Search the whole country wide. I’ll be waiting the answer; bring it here to my side. Many years spent in bondage, many days never free, Made the journey seem endless and the land far from me. Is there any can hinder? Is the crossing secure? Run as fast as you can run; bring the answer once more. Chorus: He said, “The valleys are green, sir, and the people are free. There were beautiful mountains that I clearly could see.” He said, “The vineyards are full, sir, And ev’ry garden’s in bloom. I saw no man in bondage, And we’ll be reaching there soon.”

61 The Final Flight Life’s just a room where we prepare. We’re dressing up to go some where. Time flies as quickly as the dawn. Soul, are you dressed for trav’ling on? The days of time run like a dream, And years are never what they seem. Is there some candle burning low, And soul, are you prepared to go? Oh, could there be some stain within, And is there any sign of sin? Remember well when falls the night, Each soul must take that final flight. A moment here so quickly gone, But then the soul lives ever on. Life passes as a view from sight, And then appears the final flight.

62 Hear The Call Across The Water Hear the call across the water, there’s excitement in the air. For the Mother’s been delivered, and she wants her fam’ly there. It’s a nation born in sorrow, but the sorrow’s soon forgot, When the mother sees the baby that the labor pains have brought. Call the poorest castoff people from the corners of the earth, For the mother wants her children home to celebrate the birth. Hear the call across the water, there’s a message on the waves Calling to the farthest regions, reaching to the deepest caves. There’s a land where God’s exalted, it’s a land from sin set free, It’s a nation born of promise, land of prayer and liberty. It’s a time for reuniting, there’s a gath’ring in the air. There’s an invitation pending, and your Mother’s waiting there. There’s a stirring on the water, there’s a movement toward the land. There’s a Mother on the seashore with a young child by the hand. There’s a pathway thru the ocean, there’s a highway thru the air, And the feeble knees are quickened when they see fair Zion there. There’s a multitude of nations, running thru the wat’ry way. And the mother dries her tears now, for her fam’ly’s home today.

63 Good Morning, God! Good morning, God! Can it be dawn? Excuse the tears, the night was long. But don’t the birds sound fine today? I was afraid the night would stay. Chorus: But day is here at last, let all the earth rejoice. Wake the smallest creatures up to hear my Father’s voice. “Good morning, world! This day I made for thee, A day of joy so great, a day of jubilee.” Good morning, God! How great Thou art To think to set this day apart. No day born brighter on the earth; The night hung on to slow the birth. Chorus: But day is here at last, let all the earth rejoice. Wake the smallest creatures up to hear my Father’s voice. “Good morning, world! This day I made for thee, A day of joy so great, a day of jubilee.” Good morning, God! How fresh the air. How beautiful of You to share A touch of heaven on the earth; The night could not delay the birth. Chorus: For day is here at last, let all the earth rejoice. Wake the smallest creatures up to hear my Father’s voice. “Good morning, world! This day I made for thee, A day of joy so great, a day of jubilee.

64 The Safety Of My Father’s Arms Life is filled with problems that exhaust the human mind, Feeling strained to think of some solution. Running like a child who runs, afraid to face the darkness, Running to the safety of my Father’s arms I run. Walking in the garden, passing many happy moments, Much surprised when trouble runs to greet me. Feeling sudden teardrops, seeing raindrops on the flowers, Then I feel my Father’s arms come reaching down for me. Running scared, so far beneath the wisdom of my Father, Fearing for the garden with the rain there. Rushing in, I cannot speak; the beauty there astounds me, For the rain has only made the blossoms bloom more fair. Chorus: And I feel love close in around me, Like a blanket wrapped around me; And I hear the words, “It’s all right,” And don’t you know? The morning brings the ending of the night. Ah, and don’t you know? The morning brings the ending of the night.

65 He Planted Me Deep Drifting and wand’ring, and roaming the country While telling myself that it’s best to be free; Taking life lightly while untying ev’ry tie, Making sure no tie could be tied to me. Chorus: But when Jesus found me He rooted, He ground me, He planted me deep, like a tall mountain tree. He stopped all my going and leaving forever, I’m bound by His love, I don’t want to be free. Keeping a distance while building my wall up, And closing my mind to the fam’ly I knew; Taking no stand on the right or the wrong things, Just doing politely what I cared to do Chorus: But when Jesus found me He rooted, He ground me, He planted me deep, like a tall mountain tree. He stopped all my going and leaving forever, I’m bound by His love, I don’t want to be free. Living a way off, and by choice a stranger. Not facing the outcome, ‘tho I surely knew; Leaving the God of my mother and father, Pretending an ending that never was true. Chorus: But when Jesus found me He rooted, He ground me, He planted me deep, like a tall mountain tree. He stopped all my going and leaving forever, I’m bound by His love, I don’t want to be free. Back with my fam’ly, now long reunited, And wearing the ring that my father gave me; Planted so deeply, and anchored so firmly, And tied up so tightly, with love holding me. Chorus: For when Jesus found me He rooted, He ground me, He planted me deep, like a tall mountain tree. He stopped all my going and leaving forever, I’m bound by His love, I don’t want to be free.

66 Walking With Jesus Duet. 2:7 “He knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.” While looking down life’s winding road I ran ahead to see, What was lying in my path, what obstacle for me. That hill I saw I’d never climb, not by myself alone; But Jesus took me by the hand and said I was His own. Before I met my Jesus, I was bowed in deep despair, And when my world came crashing down, nobody seem to care. I raised my hand to heaven holding up my empty cup. I turned my face in time to see Him reach to pick me up. I walk each day with Jesus now, and oft before I call, I feel a hand that steadies me, when I begin to fall. The mountain’s very tall today, there’s places I can’t see. When I can’t go another mile, He whispers, “Lean on Me”. Chorus: Across the flats, then up a hill, then down the other side; Thru a narrow pass into a pasture green and wide. When all the world could have my friend to be their very own, I’ll never understand why anyone would walk alone.

67 The Homecoming Song Some say Israel’s coming home. Some say not today. Some say you’re a dreamer, dreamer, Put your dreams (your dreams) away. But I know what my Father said, the Spirit spoke so clear, He said, “There’s horsemen riding in.” He said, “They’re almost (almost) here. Israel left so long ago. She went far away. God’s word promised she’d be back, The prophets set (they set) the day. And I can hear the rumbling of the earth beneath my feet. A prophesy about fulfilled, a dream about to be complete. Hope became a friend of mine. Time could not destroy. But to fin’lly catch a glimpse, My heart cannot contain the joy. And faintly flows some sweet refrain, To break the silent years. Oh, Father, can that song be hers, I cannot see for all the tears. Chorus: He said, “There’s one more hill.” (There’s only one more hill) They’re fording every stream (Oh, my!) He said, “They’re on the way.” (Oh, joy!) He said, “Today’s the day” (the day, the day). Rejoice, my heart rejoice. Oh Father, how I love to hear your voice. He said, “They’re coming home, my Israel’s coming home.” They’re running all the way. (Oh, my!) He said, “They’re moving in.” (Oh, joy!) He said, “They’ll never go away again.” (They’ll never leave again, They’ll never leave again.) I think my heart will burst, I think my heart, I think my heart will surely burst.

68 The Invitation Come, poor man, taste the honey, the Lord requires no money. The Gospel’s milk is waiting, and Jesus bids thee come. Leave al the things of sin behind lest Jesus pass you by. That empty heart, that hollow spot, the world can’t hope to satisfy. Come, poor man, to the fountain that flows from Calv’ry’s mountain, For he who drinks this water shall never thirst again. Leave ev’rything that sin describes, Christ Jesus bids thee sup. Hold out the vessel of your heart, He’s come today to fill it up. Christ offers free salvation, to wealth, the invitation. For he who finds the Gospel is never poor again. The fainting heart, the failing mind, the soul so starved by sin. The days and nights blurred into one, you’ll never have to face again. Chorus: Come walk upon the bright side, The narrow and the right side. The clouds will never find you When Jesus walks with you.

69 Jesus, My Wonderful Friend There’s a friend that I have, that I’m proud to know, For He stands by me when the strong winds blow; And He whispers, “Be still” to the undertow, While He lifts me from its flow. Then He raises me higher than the wind and the rain, And He places my feet where they never have been. So, if you need a friend, try Jesus my wonderful friend. There’s a friend that’s so brave unafraid of doom, For He runs right into a burning room; And He carries me past where I cannot go, Where the cool, soft breezes blow. Then He raises me higher than the fire and the flood, And He tells me I’m saved by the pow’r of His blood. So, if you need a friend, try Jesus my wonderful friend. There’s a friend that’s so fine, and I’m glad He’s mine, For He reaches me on the battle line; And He sees me laid down where the wounded rave, And He scolds the eager grave. Then He raises me high above the ravage of war, And He shows me a place where there’s peace evermore. So, if you need a friend, try Jesus my wonderful friend.

70 Give Me Understanding, Lord! (Proverbs, Chapter 8 & 9) When the wrong way seems right, Give me understanding, Lord! Lest I hinder the light, Give me understanding, Lord! When I’m falling behind And the race has only just begun, Wisdom cries at the gate, Open up while I wait and give me understanding, Lord! Wisdom’s children are fair, Give me understanding, Lord! Rubies cannot compare, Give me understanding, Lord! When the problems beyond Anything I’ve ever known before, Wisdom cries at the gate, Open up while I wait and give me understanding, Lord! Fame and fortune are cold, Give me understanding, Lord! Not of silver and gold, Give me understanding, Lord! When I fail to succeed At the smaller, simplest things of life, Wisdom cries at the gate, Open up while I wait and give me understanding, Lord! When I’m failing to see, Give me understanding, Lord! What the outcome will be, Give me understanding, Lord! When the road has been long And I find I’m back to where I start, Wisdom cries at the gate, Open up while I wait and give me understanding, Lord!

71 The Flowers Still Bloom The morning breaks upon the distant mountain, The sunshine drives the shadows all away; And hope springs up, unto my soul a fountain, And I rejoice to see the rising day! There’s sunshine on my path and on the mountain, The heavens open wide from time to time; And joy’s alive and well and stands beside me, And songs of praise still fill this heart of mine! Chorus: For God is good. My Father, how He loves me, And Jesus died to take my sins away. The flow’rs still bloom and the birds still sing above me. There’s so much to be thankful for today.

72 From The Innermost Prison So eagerly waiting for morning, I must see what my Lord’s been about. I will run to the door of the prison, To see whom there He might carry out. I called, “Lord, were there any delivered? Thru the night any given parole? Any crying because of the darkness? Is there one there concerned for his soul?” “Did you hear any begging for pardon? Lord, were any there seeking reprieve?” Then so sweetly He called back the answer, “They need only to ask to receive.” There are chains that can hold any lion, There are weights that can drown any man. There are habits too hard to be broken, And there’s no one but Jesus that can. Then a voice from the innermost prison Crying out, disillusioned by grief, Crying, “Sin like a pris’ner had bound me,” Crying, “Sin is a robber and thief.” “But the Lord’s found the bonds that have bound me, And He’s cutting all ties to the past.” When the door to the prison fell open, He cried, “Free, praise the Lord, free at last.”

73 Vessels Of Gold (Lamentations 4:2) There’s a Potter at work on a small piece of clay, And He never grows tired working day after day. ‘Round and ‘round on the wheel, He forms me gently with love, An earthen vessel below made by the Master above. He says I have to be gold and that the fire will refine And what He wants me to be He says His hands will design. He says I have to be gold and that the fire will refine And what He wants me to be He says His hands will design. There’s a Potter who molds all His children of clay, He’s been working for years, He’s still at it today. ‘Round and ‘round on the wheel, all His dear children go, His pretty pitchers to fill, His shining vessels below. He says they have to be gold into the furnace they go, He says they have to be pure to do His work here below. He says they have to be gold into the furnace they go, He says they have to be pure to do His work here below.

74 Introduce Me To My Friend Holy Spirit, lead the way; You’re welcome in my life. I’ve had enough of worldly friends, and misery and strife. Tell me more about the Friend that died on Calvary. He must have loved me more than life, to give Himself for me. Part me from these friends of mine that pull the other way. Help me learn to separate and go my sep’rate way. Come, divide the right and wrong that clutters up my mind, And tell me more about the Friend that’s been so good and kind. Holy Spirit linger on, I need You so today. Help me leave the friends behind that lead my feet astray. Bring me closer to that Friend, the One that set me free. Could that be Jesus coming now! He’s beautiful to me. Chorus: OH! Introduce me to my Friend that took my sins away. He must be something wonderful, I never could repay. Oh, I never had a Friend before that died that I might live, My heart’s the only thing I own, My heart to Him I’ll give

75 Wave The Flags Of Zion It’s time for the young men to come to the aid of their country. It’s time for young women who love the Lord to stand. A battle is waging, our colors now have to be lifted. Wave the flags of Zion on the mountains all over the land. With Christ we find vict’ry, the hill we have loved we have taken. The land of our fathers no longer held by sin. The bells ring the message, the flags wave it all thru the nation. The old hill of Zion has fell into our hands again. An old ship for certain, Her ancient woods weathered the ages. The storms are behind her, the dark night seas are past. Her banners were streaming while making for her destination. The old ship of Zion lies safe in the harbor at last. Chorus: Wave the flags from the hilltops, from all of the rooftops, From all where the flag ought to fly. From all of the treetops, till all of the world stops, While the Lord with His army goes by. Let the joy break like thunder, with amazement and wonder As our colors we proudly display. It’s a baby, It’s a nation, It’s a brand new creation, It’s a start of a brand new day!

76 A Higher Spiritual Mind Lift me up a little higher, Lord, till Canaan’s land I see; Let me live a little closer, Lord, till Satan’s darts don’t bother me. Let me look a little higher, Lord, and to this world be blind; Just a little higher plane of life, a little higher spiritual mind! Spiritual mind! Let me walk a little higher, Lord, till I can walk with Thee; Let me walk a little closer, Lord, till I am filled with charity. Hold my hand a little tighter, Lord, to this small child be kind; Just a little higher plane I ask, a little higher spiritual mind! Spiritual mind! Make my faith a little greater, Lord, till I feel good inside; Let me see a little further, Lord, till I accept what you provide. Let me do a little better, Lord, and leave this world behind; Just a little higher plane I seek, a little higher spiritual mind! Spiritual Mind! Make my hope a little surer, Lord, to view the Promised Land; Make my strength a little stronger, Lord, till nothing comes that I can’t stand. Make my path a little straighter, Lord, till Canaan I can find; Just a little higher plane for me, a little higher spiritual mind! Spiritual mind!

77 An Hour Before The Dawn Come ev’ry soldier of the cross and strap your armor on, ‘Tis precious pris’ners Satan takes one hour before the dawn; He sees the night is wearing thin, he knows his time is short. He studies ev’ry defense, he watches ev’ry fort. Chorus: He watches ev’ry fort, He watches ev’ry fort; He studies ev’ry weak defense, He watches ev’ry fort. All is not well, be not deceived, for Satan rages on. His troops regroup, the plan, “attack” an hour before the dawn; He loves to hear his captives cry, he laughs at their restraints. A rescue mission forms tonight, an army of the saints, Chorus: An army of the saints, An army of the saints; A rescue mission forms tonight, An army of the saints. The trumpet sounds, the Lord commands, His horsemen ride in haste, The soldiers find the battlefield a dark and dreary waste. A shout goes up, a ray of light, the army pushes on. The soldiers weep with great relief when vict’ry greets the dawn. Chorus: When vict’ry greets the dawn, When vict’ry greets the dawn; The soldiers weep with great relief When vict’ry greets the dawn.

78 The Master Creator (Job, Chapter 38) God in His heavens shuts the doors of the sea, And there’s no man can open, and there’s no man can free; For the proud waves are held back by the Lord’s bars and doors, And He holds all the bound’ries of the oceans’ great shores. God in His heavens makes the whirlwind pass by, And He laid the foundations of the earth and the sky; And He fastened their corners before man was formed, While the morning stars sang out and the sunshine was warmed. God in His heavens knows the breadth of the earth, And the depth of the darkness, and the place of its birth; And the light, He declared it and he made it to shine. He’s the Maker, the Author, He’s the Founder of time. God in His heavens sends the snow and the hail, And He sendeth the dewdrops when it pleases Him well; And the lightning and thunder and the clouds heed His call, He’s the Master Creator, He’s the Father of all.

79 My Lord Can (Isaiah, Chapter 43) My Lord can walk upon the raging sea, And He can calm the waves that threaten me; And He can heal my broken heart again, And He can heal my broken heart again. My Lord can touch the flow’rs that fail to bloom, And He can make their blossoms fill the room; And He can make the sun shine bright again, And He can make the sun shine bright again. My Lord can see the snares that wait for me, And should I fail or fall, He’s quick to see; And He can pick me up to stand again, And He can pick me up to stand again. My Lord can see across the great divide, And He can search the hidden heart inside; And He can bring the children home again, And He can bring the children home again.

80 The Storehouse Of The Lord Are those tears, child of mine, are you crying? Is all hope that you had slowly dying? Would the tempest soon break you today? Did the tide almost take you away? Ah, did the storm come that close to your door? Come child, choose from my heavenly store. Here’s a love so divine you can share it. Here’s a smile for each day, always wear it. Precious gifts in the storehouse of the Lord, And there’s nothing, child, you can’t afford. Did some dreams get lost with the years? And some prayers dissolve into tears? Is your basket quite empty today? Did you lose all you had on the way? Ah, did the storm come too close to your door? Come child, choose from my heavenly store. Here is peace, and each child gets a part. Here is joy, like a jewel for the heart. Precious gifts in the storehouse of the Lord, And there’s nothing, child, you can’t afford. Did a ship go down in the night? Was it far from the harbor light? Was the feeling of fear very real? Does it constantly stay with you still? Ah, the storm came so close to your door; Come child, choose from my heavenly store. Here’s the word, take it freely and use it. Here is faith, and you must never lose it. Precious gifts in the storehouse of the Lord, And there’s nothing, child, you can’t afford.

81 He’s All The World To Me In the name of Jesus Christ the captives are set free. In the name of Jesus Christ the tempter has to flee. In that precious Holy name, A life He’s touched is never the same; He’s wonderful and He’s marvelous to me. In the name of Jesus Christ my sins were washed away. In the name of Jesus Christ my nights were turned to day. From the stable brought to fame, My closest Friend is one and the same; He’s wonderful and He’s marvelous to me. Chorus: Oh, He’s wonderful! He’s wonderful! He’s marvelous! He’s marvelous! He touches the night with His love and His light And He makes it shine like the noonday bright. He’s the Cornerstone, He’s the Rock of Ages, He’s a Solid Foundation when Satan rages; He’s ev’rything, He’s all the world to me.

82 He’s Safe - Jesus Saved Him There’s a black sheep, a young lamb, in the dark countryside, Where the holes and the lairs and the hungry wolves hide; But that Great Shepherd Jesus lifts him out of the den, And He carries him high home on His shoulders again. ‘Twas a black sheep, a young lamb, that had wandered away, Where the hungry wolves caught him and made him their prey; But that Great Shepherd Jesus found and carried him home, Now that little lost black sheep, never more will he roam. Just a black sheep, a young lamb, that the Shepherd brought in, He was pulled from the caves, from the caverns of sin; But that Great Shepherd Jesus bathed and cared for him so, Now that poor little black sheep, he’s as white as the snow. Chorus: And He’s safe, Jesus saved him. Hear the bells how they ring! He’s at long last with Jesus, his Savior and King. See the clouds leave the sky while the sun has its day, There’s rejoicing in heaven for the wolf’s lost its prey.

83 He’ll Take Care Of Me I don’t know the answers to the questions of the day, I don’t know the reasons why when trouble comes my way; But I know God in heaven knows, on Him I can rely, For ev’rytime I question Him He gives the same reply. A world of ever changing scenes, of wars that never cease, Men that lead an endless search while never finding peace; But I know God in heaven knows, just knowing this I’m blest, And when I think that God loves me my troubled mind finds rest. Prophecies we read about unfolding very fast, Things we held and thought were ours don’t very often last; But I know God in heaven knows, when I ask what’s in store, He gives that same reply again, I hear it o’er and o’er. News abroad of governments continual rise and fall, Days of great pollutions hanging over one and all; But I know God in heaven has my future in control, And when He says I’m not to fear, what comfort to my soul. Chorus: That He’ll take care of me, so I am satisfied. He said He’ll take care of me, so I am satisfied. I am satisfied, He’ll take care of me. He said He’ll take care of me, so I am satisfied.

84 He’s Taken My Blindness I’ll praise God forever, He’s taken my blindness, The veil has been rended, the curtain’s been drawn. For there like a vision the city I’ve searched for Stands spread our before me as bright as the dawn. I’ll praise God forever, my scales have been lifted, He’s given my eyes sight, the shadows are gone. For there lies my country, my homeland awaits me, The highway that takes me there beckons me on. I’ll praise God forever for I’ve seen my city, I’ve never before this seen any so fair. And homebound and running I think I saw Israel, While Songs of Deliv’rance were filling the air. Chorus: And when I lie dreaming I walk her green valleys, And stand on the mountains of Zion’s blest sod. And all thru the night hours I hear Israel singing, While walking the highways returning to God.

85 Let It Shine Leave your troubles all behind, No time for that, there’s souls to find. Shine with the love that Christ has given you. Just like the sun, shine full and free, That thru the darkness some might see And say the light has shone because of you. Love should never leave your face, For Jesus put it there by grace. So love mankind as Christ has first loved you. The world has waited long to see The light that manifests from thee, So shine the light that Christ has shone for you. Worlds of hate and jealousy, While many wait in vain to see The love that never in their lives they’ve known. With all the love that you can shine Reach out to all with love divine, That some might say the Gospel’s light has shone. Chorus: Oh, let it shine, The love that Christ has given you, Oh, let it shine! Someone might be looking for a love like yours and mine! Shine it from the highest hill Till ev’ry dark sad soul can feel And find the Gospel’s light because of you.

86 The Latter Day Theme The better part of a lifetime in defense of a dream, List’ning very intently to the Latter Day Theme. Watching ev’ry horizon, certain one day to see All the beauty of Zion there unfolding to me. Call for ev’ry north country, ev’ry isle of the sea. To return all God’s people to the land of the free. Sing the fair Songs of Zion, hear the message they bring, Introducing with pleasure the blest Latter Day Theme. Chorus: They say that old bones will flourish, Oh, and our babies won’t die, And our children won’t leave home, so the mothers won’t cry, They say the wolf shall soon lie down with the lamb and the lion, For the fig tree has buds now and there’s bloom on the vine.

87 The Return The old man watched closely the distant road And the woman prayed always while feeling the load. Time slowly passed the old man by the gate, So many in passing asked for whom do you wait? He looked straight ahead and said, “One is lost, A dear one,” he said, and his eyes showed the cost. He said he would wait for this child to return, They knew that he meant it, and they saw his concern. The old man watched always, the woman prayed on. For they’d never forgotten the one who was gone. Some said, “Give up,” but he said, “I will never.” “But how long will you wait, sir?” Then he answered, “Forever.” They laughed as they left him and went on their way. But the old man kept watching on, day after day. Then in the far distance he saw someone coming, He called his wife to him and they saw someone running. With arms open wide then, they took the child in. For life had been hard to this one lost in sin. The prodigal’s tears washed away their concern And the angels rejoiced so, to see the return. Chorus: Then he said, “There’s a child that’s away. And I think he might come home today. His mother is heaping his plate, And now the music has started and I hardly can wait.” Oh, don’t you know there’s a child that’s away, And I think he might come home today. His mother is heaping his plate, And now the music has started and I hardly can wait.

88 He Has Sent My Spirit Peace The sun that did not shine today, Will shine for me tomorrow, For Jesus said that He would come And take away my sorrow, He said my burden would be light, Not more than I could carry, And I believe what Jesus said, I know He will not tarry. Jesus found the little lamb That lost the straight and narrow. He healed the broken wing He found Upon the fallen sparrow. He placed a child upon His knee And Said behold my kingdom, And I want to be there with Him So I will strive to be one. Jesus said behind the clouds The sun is always shining, He said the darkest day would have The brightest silver lining. He said His spirit He would send To comfort and to guide me And though all else may fail I know, His word will stand beside me. Chorus: For He’s been good to me He’s been good to me, He has sent my spirit peace And He’s been good to me.

89 Is Anyone Willing to Let Jesus In? There’s a sound that’s been heard Thru the ages of time, And that same sound’s still knocking At your heart and mine; And that same voice still cries, “I have come to abide, Is there anyone here that will let me inside?” Jesus weeps while He waits, Would you bid Him depart? Hear the voice of the spirit That speaks to your heart; “I have come from the cross, Would you turn me away? Is there anyone here that might want me to stay?” Just a page from the past, From the annals of time, Reaching down to the present, To your day and mine; With that same voice still calling The children of men, “Is there anyone here that would let me come in?” Hear the voice still repeating The same from the start, “My Father has sent me To enter your heart, I have knocked thru the years, Thru the dark nights of sin, If there’s anyone home, please, I’d like to come in.” Chorus: Throw the door open, Jesus wants to come in, He will bring you salvation, He will save you from sin, Hear that small quiet tapping And that same voice again, Is there anyone willing to let Jesus in?

90 Following God A little child learns how to walk you see, Like my Heavenly Father’s been teaching me; When He sees the child can finally stand, Then it’s time to let go of the small child’s hand. OH, ME! OH, MY! Time to let go of the small child’s hand. He places Himself on a spot that’s flat, Then He places the child just a few steps back; And He holds His hands for the child to see, Then the Father says, “Child, Now walk to me,” OH, ME! OH, MY! The Father says, “Child, Now walk to me.” The days go by and the little one grows, When it’s time to go further the Father knows; Where many before this child have trod, The faltering feet that follow God. OH, ME! OH, MY! The faltering feet that follow God. The time soon comes when the road grows steep, While the Father is watching the small child’s feet; Then He smiles and says, “Child, rest and sup, And tomorrow we’ll try a little higher up,” OH, ME! OH, MY! Tomorrow we’ll try a little higher up. Still following God down the road we go, While the years pass by, and I start to grow; But the longer it’s been since I first could stand, The closer I stay to my Father’s hand. OH, ME! OH, MY! The closer I stay to my Father’s hand.

91 There’s Not Anything That Jesus Cannot Do

There’s no one can mean as much as Jesus means to me, There’s nobody else I know that died to set me free; There’s no one can love as much as Jesus can love you, There’s not anything at all that Jesus cannot do. There’s no one can mediate like Jesus can for me, There’s nobody on the throne at God’s right hand but He; There’s no one can stand beside like Jesus will with you, There’s not anything at all that Jesus cannot do. There’s no one can calm the waves and still the angry sea, There’s nobody else that ever brought such peace to me; There’s no one can shine the sun like Jesus can for you, There’s not anything at all that Jesus cannot do. Chorus: He can heal the lame and blind and all afflictions of the mind, Can bring the sinners out of sin, and all the prodigals back in; He can show Himself to thee just like he did at Galilee, Can make a life completely whole and He alone can save a soul.

92 My Country Calls Don’t hold me back I cannot stay, My country calls, I’m on my way; I miss my land I can no longer roam. For though I’ve wandered far and wide, I’ve never lost my native pride, I’ve never ceased to dream of going home. I’ve never ceased to dream of going home. Don’t take my time, don’t slow me down, I cannot stop I’m homeward bound; I heard my country call for me today, This foreign land I’ve wandered in, Has took it’s toll of grief and sin, My country calls and I am on my way. My country calls and I am on my way. I cannot dally friend today, I cannot chance to lose my way; I heard my country call my name again. From every clime and every reach, God’s people know it’s home to each; And from the farthest lands they’re coming in. And from the farthest lands they’re coming in. Fair Zion like a beacon light, Still leads me on my homebound flight; I’ve never seen a pretty land like this. Oh, lovely sight devoid of sin, Throw wide your gates I’m coming in; And on my knees that sacred ground I’ll kiss. And on my knees that sacred ground I’ll kiss.

93 We Won’t Cry Tomorrow, Friend I’ve cried to see the burdens that my people’ve had to bear, And often in my helplessness I’ve felt a sudden tear; I cried to see my brother reaching out for help from me, And when I dried my sister’s tears my eyes could scarcely see. I’ve cried to see the bondage that has kept my people bound. I cried again the day they laid my loved one in the ground; This wilderness it’s not for me, I find no solace here, I’m leaving for the land I love, I won’t be crying there. My heart has stopped and failed at times for all that I have seen, For even midst the times of joy there’s sorrow in between; The prophets said that land of old would bring God’s people cheer. So, friend of mine, let’s hurry on, we won’t be crying there. Chorus (verses 1 and 2): For we won’t cry tomorrow when we reach the mountain top, And when the saints start singing there no one will want to stop; And we won’t feel the sorrow there we’ve felt upon this land, So if you’d like to go with me, friend, reach and take my hand. Chorus (verse 3): For we won’t cry tomorrow when the border comes in view, For Jesus will be waiting there to welcome me and you. And we’ll lay ev’ry burden down at Zion’s border line, So if we’d go together, friend, come place your hand in mine

94 I’ve Caught a Glimpse of Canaan Across the burning desert running thru the barren sand, Up the ragged mountainside across the rugged land; Thru the raging waters thru the cold and heavy snow, I’ve caught a glimpse of Canaan and I simply have to go! Running thru the darkness putting down the rising fears, Drowning out the laughter holding back the stubborn tears; Quieting the thunder that is pounding in my chest, I’ve caught a glimpse of Canaan now I have to see the rest! Running for the crossing to the beauty of the land, Holding to the safety of my Father’s guiding hand; I’ve come too far to turn back now I know I have to go, For what awaits God’s people there I simply have to know! Running over obstacles but always with a song, Never satisfied to stay behind the waiting throng; ‘Till I walk from shore to shore and see each mountain top, This driving need keeps pushing me I simply cannot stop. Chorus: I wonder if fair Israel is as pretty as they say, Will Joseph wear his coat of many colors on that day; Will Judah wear a silver star has Benjamin a cup, I wonder if I hurry will I see them riding up?

95 Lo, There on Mount Zion The songbirds sing sweetly, to summon the morning, The heavens resound with the same songs above; Mount Zion is calling and welcomes my coming, My heart is on fire for the land that I love. No longer a dreamer, awake I am certain, The light of the morning is shining on me; The vain things of life fade and grow dim behind me, The path up the mountain is all I can see. How lovely the day and how brilliant the morning, How many the footsteps heard coming this way; The feast is prepared and the highways are humming, The King of the Kingdom is coming they say! Lo, there on Mount Zion, the bright star of David, The Lord of the morning, none brighter than He; And all of the ransomed are running to meet Him, And all of the nations are coming to see.

96 A Highway Shall The Lord Prepare (The Way of Holiness) (Isaiah 35:8-10) A highway shall the Lord prepare, Across the ocean, thru the air. No ravenous beast shall travel there, No ravenous beast shall travel there. This highway spans to lands abroad And brings home ev’ry child of God. It carries them safe to Zion’s shore, It carries them safe to Zion’s shore. No unclean thing shall walk thereon, This road the ransomed travel upon. For holy the feet that pass this way, For holy the feet that pass this way. Fair Zion’s songs will fill the air, When Zion’s children travel there. They call it “THE WAY OF HOLINESS,” They call it “THE WAY OF HOLINESS.”

97 Be Of Good Cheer Some say that Zion is only a dream, And some say its coming is past; And some say its season to bloom will be short, The days of its beauty won’t last. Some say the prophets have failed us again, And we knew it could not be true; But we always knew that this day would not come, For we’re not a dreamer like you. Some say that men, many long years ago, Had tried to build Zion back then; And oh, what a failure in that day and time, So we won’t be foolish like them. Some say that Zion’s a state of the mind, This city’s a town in the heart; While others say hundreds of years must pass by, Before any building can start. Some say our children, and if not our children, Then somebody’s children will see; But we’ll never see it in our day and time, For our age will never be free. Chorus: But I know the message delivered to me, The angel said, “Be of good cheer. Hold up your head now, and don’t put it down; The day you have dreamed of is here.”

98 Soaring Over Canaan (Like a Bird)

When my enemies have found me, Firmly held and tightly bound me, And they say I’ll never fly again; Deep inside I feel a flutter, I hear the words my spirit utter, “It’s time to go, it’s time to soar again.” Chorus: And we go higher than the highest treetops, Far above the clouds, soaring over Canaan’s peaceful shore. And ev’rywhere my people meet me, With open arms and smiles they greet me, And I don’t feel my bondage anymore. When the stormy clouds surround me, And I fear the flood might drown me, Then I think I’ll die if I don’t fly; Once again I feel a flurry, My spirit cries, “We have to hurry.” And off we go up to the waiting sky. Chorus: And we go higher than the highest treetops, Far above the clouds, soaring over Canaan’s peaceful shore. And ev’rywhere there’s celebration, And in the air anticipation, And I don’t fear the storm clouds anymore. When my heavy burdens bend me, Till my spirit groans within me, Then I know it’s time to fly again; When my troubled mind can’t bear it, Then I rest my troubled spirit, And in my dreams I take my flight again.

Chorus: And we go higher than the highest treetops, Far above the clouds, soaring over Canaan’s peaceful shore. And ev’rywhere the bands are playing, “You’ll soon be here,” the songs are saying, And I don’t feel my burdens anymore. Like a songbird’s flight in winter, It flees the nest when cold winds enter, Those that don’t may never fly again; Hear the stirring of the Spirit, And when it speaks, be sure you hear it, And take your flight when winter comes again. Chorus: And you’ll go higher than the highest treetops, Far above the clouds, soaring over Canaan’s peaceful shore. And ev’rywhere there’s summer breezes, Where nothing dies and nothing freezes, And you won’t feel the cold winds anymore.

99 He Changed My Life Completely (All The Tears The Habits Brought Are Gone Now) Knowing not the great plan of salvation, Following the plans devised by men. Until one day, when Jesus said to leave it all behind And take my cross and come and follow Him. Knowing not that habits could be broken, Never knowing men could be set free. The life I thought I could not leave, I left it all one day When Jesus said He died for men like me. Grief beyond my youthful years had found me. Sorrow greater than a man should bear. Knowing not the joy that God intended man to have When He sent His Son to journey here. Praise the Lord, I thank the day He found me, The day I lost my heavy load of sin. I threw it down, I left it there and walked away for good, And oh, the joy that I can feel within. Chorus: He changed my life completely in a moment. The road from which I came I’ll never look that way again, For all the tears, the habits brought, are gone now, And Jesus washed off all the stains of sin.

100 Won’t It Be Something To See Israel Smile! Too many heartbreaks, too much despair, Too many teardrops for Israel to bear; But God will recover her blessings again, Won’t it be something to see Israel then! Long years of silence, born of distress, Too full of sorrow to ever express; But in pretty Zion their voices will ring, Won’t it be something to hear Israel sing! Scattered and driven, pushed back by men, Prisons of high walls and prisons of sin; But God loves her children, He calls them His own, Won’t it be something to see them come home! Zion’s bright city, shining like gold, No earthly city as bright to behold; And lighting that country for mile after mile, Shining so bright will be Israel’s bright smile! Welcome home Israel, won’t you come in, My, you look lovely returning from sin; Your dress is so white, with gold borders so wide, Won’t you make someone a beautiful bride! Chorus: Gather her babies, all her young men, All her fair daughters, go gather them in; Raise from the dust and the tears where they bow; Won’t it be something to see Israel smile!

101 Don’t Let Anybody Take Your Crown Keep your hands from idleness and play, Keep your ears from wicked things the wicked say. Keep away from those who tear you down, Don’t let anybody take you crown! Turn your back on those who ‘gender strife, Turn your eyes away from evil things of life. Turn your feet from paths that lead you down, Don’t let anybody take your crown! Keep a song upon your lips today, Keep yourself from thieves who like to steal away. Don’t keep old discouragement around, Don’t let anybody take your crown! Never fear the stranger on the way, Those that only steal these earthly things of clay. Fear the ones that stay so close around, Those that try to take away your crown! Chorus: Don’t let anybody take your crown, Don’t let anybody take your crown, Don’t let anybody take the crown That’s been laid up for you.

102 If You Would Labor In Zion (John, Chapter 21) Many wait on the seashore, many rest on the tide. Many think that the crossing it too deep and too wide. Many think that the venture requires immediate rest, But you must labor for Jesus if you want to be blest. Jesus calls, “Are you sleeping? There is so much to do. It’s not the time to be idle, I have labor for you. If you say that you love me, feed my lambs and my sheep, Take a walk on the water, take a step on the deep.” Many perish beside you, there’s no time for delay. It’s not the time to be sleeping, or wile the hours away. Many drift on the current, many follow the flow, While the lab’rers in Zion are preparing to go. Jesus calls o’er the water, “Have you caught any meat? I have fish on the fire, come my children, and eat. Never fear the deep waters nor the dangers below, If you would labor in Zion it is time now to go.” Chorus: Brother, step out on faith now, Sister, Jesus will see. He has fish on the fire, and He is waiting for thee. Cast your net on the right side, leave your doubts all behind. When you walk on the water, there His hand you will find.

103 Keeping Step Thru the night to a brighter tomorrow, Side by side, God’s little band; Keeping step, God’s beautiful children, Marching to the promised land. Thru the storm to the beautiful mountain, Uniforms of righteousness; Keeping step to the beautiful music, Marching thru the wilderness. Thru the lines, thru the heavy resistance, Nothing breaks their steady stride; Keeping step, with their Father’s assistance, Marching thru the countryside. To the sound of the beautiful Gospel, On and on the music plays; Keeping step, the little band marches, Children of the latter days. Chorus: Thru the war, Thru the fire and the ashes, Music takes away the pain; Keeping step, God’s beautiful children, Marching to the Peaceful Reign.

104 Take Some Time To Pray This world is moving rapidly, Too fast for a child like me; I know what I must do today, I have to find some time to pray. This world’s in such a frantic race, I cannot keep this madd’ning pace; Excuse me while steal away, I have to find some place to pray. When to God in prayer I go, He tells me things that I must know; I want to hear what God will say, So I must take some time to pray. Children need their Father’s care, They need to know that He is there; And in this rushing world today, They need to take some time to pray. Chorus: Go on world, keep rushing by. But as for me, for God and I, There has to be some time today. I have to take some time to pray.

105 The Grave Is No Longer A Prison The grave is no longer a prison (a prison), Why weep at his tomb? Christ has risen (has risen). The one that you seek, He is not here (He is not here), And He’ll never lie here again. No, He’ll never lie here again. Tho’ Judas for silver had sold him (had sold him), No tomb and no gravestone could hold him (could hold him). The heavens reached down to enfold him (to enfold him), And there He is living again. Yes, there He is living again. The angels in heaven adore him (adore him), And thousands would gladly fight for him (fight for him). His armies stand ready before him (before him), And they’ll never take him again. No, they’ll never take him again. On down thru the ages few sought him (few sought him), And some said that God’s Son was not him (was not him), While some turned away and forgot him (forgot him), But I know He’s coming again. Yes, I know He’s coming again The bride knows the groom will be coming (be coming), The wedding song softly she’s humming (she’s humming). In all of her beauty she’ll meet him (she’ll meet him), And He’ll never leave her again. No, He’ll never leave her again. Chorus: For He sits on his throne in the sky, Where He never again has to die; Where the angels sing praises all day, And the crowd cannot lead him away. The crowd cannot lead him away.

106 Set Her Free (Cut Her Loose) The cable strains the anchor resting on the ocean floor, The earth begins to shake and break apart from shore to shore; The howling wind relays to earth a message from the Lord, “If any care to live tonight, be quick to get on board.” The ship some call Old Zion and some call her Liberty, The Ancient One, the Beautiful, the Vessel of the Free; She takes her weary trav’lers to the regions of the blest, For there the Motherland prepares a place where they can rest. The morning breaks the eastern sky, the sunshine strains to see, The wind fills up her lovely sails and sets the great ship free; The Motherland is crying out, “I’m clean, at last, from sin. So sail to me, Oh Mighty Ship, and bring my people in.” Chorus: Cut her loose, for she’s been tied too long. Set her free, her destiny to catch the rising dawn, And oh, the Motherland is weeping for the great ship’s safe return, As cities all across the land catch fire and start to burn.

107 They Say The Land Has Milk And Honey There’s talk about a promised land where people live for years, Where feeble knees receive their strength and smiles replace the tears. With canes and glasses cast aside, when sight’s restored to men, The ancient latter glory’s come, they say, to earth again. They say this lovely countryside has crystal running streams, With sparkling, bubbling fountains like I’ve pictured in my dreams. Where children lead the lambs and lions, leopards, and the deer, And none shall hurt nor e’er destroy what God has sheltered there. I’ve heard about a land of peace where ev’rybody’s free, Where men don’t sit in pow’r and plan the latest strategy. Where boys don’t learn the ways of war for no one wants to fight, Where people serve the true and living God of love and light. They say this land called Canaan isn’t very far away, And maybe I could make it there if I start out today. I want to go and see the place of baby Zion’s birth. They say the Lord’s own kingdom there at last has come to earth. Chorus: They say the land has milk and honey, Would you tell me is it so? And there’s no need for money there, the poorest man can go. And ev’ryone you meet there will be your friend for life. For love won’t fade like it does here, no hatred there, nor strife.

108 Run Till You Reach the Mountain Top This Gentile land, this unholy generation, Will surely bring the wrath of God; But know ye this when the cities crumble, There’s a place prepared for the people of God. Cry, cry this land, this unholy generation, When the floods and the famine hit the countryside; But know ye this there’s a holy mountain, There’s a place of safety where the righteous can hide. Woe, woe fair sons and beautiful daughters, And woe again to the path you trod; When the warplanes roar and the earthquakes rumble, If you’re not found running with the people of God. Chorus: Run, run, run to the arms of Jesus, You cannot stall and you cannot stop; And don’t look back or the fire will burn you, Run till you reach the mountain top.

109 Won’t It Be Pretty There In Early Spring The prophets saw the day of Jesus’ birth, They looked ahead to see a time of peace on earth; And didn’t Jesus pray, “Thy kingdom come”? So let us pray to see His will be done. If winter’s chilling winds bring death to some, Then let us not forget some day that spring will come; And if the coldest days we would survive, Then we must pray to keep this hope alive. The prophets said the day would surely come, And that same prophecy today is told by some; And all the signs we see say pretty soon This kingdom like the flow’rs will start to bloom. Chorus: Won’t it be pretty there in early spring, When children laugh again and pretty song birds sing, When flowers reappear with blossoms everywhere, Won’t it be pretty there in early spring.

110 I’m Taking My Harp From the Green Willow Tree (Psalms 137:1-4) I’m taking my journey, I’ve waited so long, I’m taking my dream and I’m taking my song; I’m taking my freedom, I have to be free, And I’m taking my harp from the green willow tree. No longer require me, this captive a song, With Bab’lon behind me, I’m running along; The music from heaven, It’s running with me, And I’m taking my harp from the green willow tree. They took us for captives, required of us mirth, We wept while we waited for signs of the birth; A nation is budding, at last I can see, And I’m taking my harp from the green willow tree. So come every free man, the passage is clear, Our Father from heaven, He’s taking us there; I’m singing with angels, they’re singing with me, And I’m taking my harp from the green willow tree.

111 None Can Bring This Kingdom Down Wake the earth and rouse the nations, Let the bells herald the sound: Midst the war a kingdom rises, Midst the ruins a city found Many men have tried to build her, Many more to tear her down: Neither war nor any nation, Ere can bring this kingdom down. Hear the rumbling in the distance, As the warplanes leave the ground; Jesus Christ alone can save us, For His kingdom we are bound. Blow the trumpet Christ is coming, To his kingdom here on earth; Precious nation, precious baby, Ring the bells, proclaim the birth. Chorus: From the dust and from the ashes, Rise majestic from the ground; Nations fall and cities crumble, None can bring this kingdom down.

112 They Can’t Burn the Flag on Zion’s Mountain Morning breaks to burn away the blackness, And music breaks to burn away the fear; While angels smile to see the scene before them, And singing breaks the silence in the air. Nothing shines as bright as Zion’s mountain, And nothing stands as high as Zion’s hill; And all that enter leave their tears behind them, Where nothing hurts and nothing ever will. There’s no joy that’s greater than is found there, And there’s no love that’s greater any where; No trembling hands nor feeble knees are found there, No blessings greater than the blessings there. Chorus: And they can’t burn the flag on Zion’s mountain, And they can’t take that city on the hill; And they can’t dim the light that shines around her, For all that God has promised He’ll fulfill.

113 Arise and Weep No More Oh, Israel, my lovely child, My nation born this day; All wood and hay and stubble burn, And take the dross away, Oh, Ephraim dear, my pleasant child, Arise and weep no more; The beauty that thy land has lost, Thy Father will restore, The stone that brought the image down, Has rolled to Zion’s shore; The towers that the wicked build, Alas shall be no more, How beautiful is Eden’s land, This garden of the Lord; The prophets wrote of its return, And we believed God’s word,

114 The Lord Will Lead With A Very High Hand (Exodus 14:8, Numbers 33:3) Come children to the Promised Land, Fear not, the Lord has a very high hand; And He leads His children carefully, Past the army that rides and thru the raging sea. Come children to the Promised Land, The Lord will lead with a very high hand; And He sees the ones who’ve broken the backs, Of the weary ones and He marks their tracks. Come children to the Promised Land, You’ll leave this day with a very high hand; And the army that rides shall melt away, And they’ll know the God of Israel lives this day. Come children to the Promised Land, You’ll see this day God’s very high hand; As He did back then in a day long past, He’ll bring His children home now again at last.

115 There’s A God In Israel (II Kings 5:15) There’s a God in Israel, say have you heard, There’s a God in Israel, oh spread the word; There’s a healing stream there where the broken mend, There’s a jubilee morning where the dark nights end. There’s a beautiful city called Jerusalem, Where the builders are building her walls again; And they shimmer like silver, and they glisten like gold, When the morning light finds them so the story is told. There’s a God in Israel, friend, come with me, They say His arm is moving and I want to go see; There’s a city rejoicing and they’re singing I hear, There’s a latter day gathering and I want to go there.

116 The New Jerusalem (Jeremiah 31:12, Hosea 2:18) Hear the crying of the thousands And then of ten thousands more, But the crying is for gladness And the teardrops are for joy; And they’re running to that city Called the New Jerusalem, Where the gates swing wide and welcome All the weary travelers in. There’s a dawning like no other There’s a brightness like the sun, There’s a meadow filled with flowers Where the little children run; And where God has made a covenant So the animals lie down, And all eyes are filled with wonder At the scene upon the ground. There’s a full and watered garden There’s a free and flowing stream, And the beauty of the morning Is like a lingering dream; Where the Lord has washed the mountains With the early morning dew, But it will not fade nor vanish For the prophecy is true.

117 Maybe I’m A Dreamer (Genesis 37:19 “And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.”)

Joseph was a dreamer So many years ago, All the dreams he dreamed they say Perhaps we’ll never know; But I see Joseph coming Thru the fields and thru the streams And running to that mountain home I’ve pictured in my dreams. Maybe I’m a dreamer But could this be the day, Maybe I’m a dreamer Did I dream or someone say, That God has reached from Heaven With a firm but gentle hand, To lead his little children to This dear and promised land. Many say its coming In a hundred years or so, Many say don’t worry child You’ll never get to go; But I see brilliant colors On the hills and on the flow’rs, And oh what joy unspeakable While dreaming many hours. Chorus: Ah, but maybe I’m a dreamer, But I see mountain tops Ah, Maybe I’m a dreamer, but the dreaming never stops: And maybe I’m a dreamer, but the valleys look so green But only God can bring about, the things that I have seen.

118 Joy Cometh In The Morning (Psalm 30:5 “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”) Joy cometh in the morning When the night has passed away, Joy cometh like the dewdrops At the dawning of the day; And it cometh when the angels come To join our lowly band, And the sweetest music ever heard Will echo thru the land, Joy cometh when the sound of Weeping’s heard not anymore, Joy cometh when our spirits rise Like eagles when they soar; And it cometh when the sons of God Go out to preach to men, And the scattered tribes dispersed so long At last are gathered in. Joy cometh when all nature Rises up to join the song, Joy cometh when the children Leave their play to sing along; And it cometh when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ appears, And the lovely singing fills the earth And lasts one thousand years.

119 To Keep the Gospel Pure We’re waiting on the promises And standing on the principles, While seeing all the prophecies Unfolding at our door; We’re walking paths our fathers trod The many years they walked with God, While doing all we can today To keep the Gospel pure. We’re watching every day and hour While praying for God’s grace and power, That with His help we will endure Knowing His word is sure; Believing that we will survive By keeping hope and joy alive, While doing all we can today To keep the Gospel pure. We’re dreaming of a better day When sin and sorrow flee away While knowing that our vision’s sure And in God’s care secure, Retaining our identity Until the day our land is free While doing all we can today To keep the Gospel pure.

120 Run Children Run Run children run, a table is preparing, Run children run, a wond’rous feast to share; The night was blind but morning sees more clearly The Lord Himself awaits your presence there. Run children run, while angels’ arms surround you, Run children run, your safety is assured; A cloud by day and fire by night around you, To take you to the breakfast of the Lord. Run children run, a brighter day is calling, Run children run, a dawning so arrayed; With golden streams of heaven’s beauty shining, And perfect joy the prophecies portrayed. Run children run, no fire nor foe can hinder, Run children run, be quickly on your way; Leave all the tears and broken dreams behind you, A thousand years of joy begins today.

121 The Journey Was Easy (Psalm 139:2 “Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising...” With all of my failures, with all of my fears, With all my downsittings and so many tears; My Father in heaven looks down from above, With eyes full of mercy and arms full of love. His hand takes my small one and leads me along, With many a sighting and many a song; He says, “there’s a country, a far better land, I’ll lead and I’ll carry, just hold to my hand.” Thru mountains and valleys, thru darkness and light, He never lets go of my small hand at night; As morning grows closer He smiles at my tears, Says, “Child, I’ve walked with you for so many years.” We talk as we hurry, the country grows near, And oh, what rejoicing and singing I hear; A band full of angels, a land full of love, The journey was easy, God led from above.

123 Can These Bones Live? (Ezekiel 37: 1-14) Can these bones live? Thou knowest Lord. Can flesh and sinew be restored? Can Israel fall and rise again? Thou knowest how, thou knowest when. Oh, son of man, can these bones live? Thou knowest Lord, all breath you give. Say to the winds, come now and blow, The breath of life to these below. Can Israel find their long way home? Thou knowest Lord what lands they roam. Write “Come on home” on all the trees, And send it on the morning breeze. Can thou breathe life in all the slain, And all the Gentiles that remain? Can there be peace after the war? Thou knowest Lord, all this and more

124 I Am Your Brother (Genesis 45:4 “I am JOSEPH your brother...”) I am your brother, the years have been long, Where dim grew the vision and dim grew the song. But out of the darkness and bursting with light, I’m seeing my brothers, don’t cry, it’s all right. I am your brother, lost so long ago, There’s no need to bow down nor sorrow to show. This day had been promised our father before, I’ve found you, my brothers, don’t cry anymore. I am your brother, so come gather ‘round, Where corn grows the tallest and honey is found. Where storms never linger and dreams never die, And I am your brother, come brothers, don’t cry. I am your brother, I’m hiding my tears, Rejoicing to see you from so many years. The land lies before you, a beautiful sight, My brothers are home now, don’t cry, it’s all right.

125 The National Wonder (Isaiah 66: 7-8) A Kingdom is born And they call it THE NATIONAL WONDER, A rumor is spreading And suddenly filling the earth; A scene so unreal And a most unbelievable story, “THE BABY IN WAITING WAS WALKING AND RUNNING AT BIRTH.” It’s a very good day And we’ll say it’s a very fine morning, It was a long time coming But this baby was worth waiting for; God opened the windows And He answered the knock at the door, And the little child waiting Ran in and is waiting no more. It’s a baby, a Kingdom, a Nation, And the story goes on, It was running and growing The same day this wonder was born; God opened the heavens And His glory has taken us in, And we’ll sing many times Of this NATIONAL WONDER again.

126 Freedom’s Song (Isaiah 65:22) We’ve sung about the cloudy skies And of the stormy seas, We’ve sung about our mountain home And of the morning breeze; We’ve waited at the Border Line For some say far too long, But praise the Lord we’ve come this far We’re singing Freedom’s Song. We’ve watched the spring-times come and go And counted up the years, We’ve seen our loved ones pass away We’ve sung thru many tears; But never once and not a day Our hope grew dim nor died, For freedom’s just a breath away We’ll sing it far and wide. We’re singing Freedom’s Song today Let all the land rejoice, The set and favored time has come We’ve heard our Father’s voice; He said that men shall long enjoy Their labor and be free, So raise your voice and sing along This Freedom’s Song with me.

Come on over, children ride the high tide. Come on over, nations, come and see; Christ is sitting high on His mountain, Watching over all so tenderly. Come on over, brothers, climb the mountain. Come on over, sisters, cross the sea. There’s no wall so high God can’t deliver, There’s no pit so deep He can not free. Come on over, weary wand’ring soldiers, There’s no war nor weapons here to find; Lay your weary heads down on the mountain, Leave the blackened hills and plains behind.

128 New Day On The Mountain (I Nephi 22: 24-25) It’s a new day on the mountain, There’s a new star in the sky. There’s a new child running freely, With a mother standing by. While the angels sing the story, All the bells in heaven chime; Sending down to earth the message, “A new thousand years of time.” If you ever reach this mountain, If you ever come this far, You will see a city rising, Like a brand new morning star. If you ever reach the highlands, You will see a Shepherd there; Where His sheep bask in the sunshine, Of His tender loving care. If you’ve ever heard the story, If it’s ever reached your ears, If you’ve ever read the prophecies, You can wipe away your tears. And come hurry to this mountain, For a new day has begun; If you make it to the mountain, You can too bask in the sun.

129 The Winds Of War (Matthew 24:6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars…”) When winds of war invade the sky, And many ask the question, “why?” But time and years have passed away, Since prophets prophesied this day. When winds of war blow cold and fierce, And terror strikes the hearts they pierce; Be comforted by knowing this, God will protect each child of His. When winds of war and threat’ning skies, Cause hearts to fail and fears to rise; Mount Zion calls down, “Come to me, Come up to where you’re safe and free.” When winds of war blow constantly, God’s children know it’s time to flee; Then to the mountain top they soar, So far above the winds of war.

130 It’s A Jubilee Morning (Esther 9:22 “…from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day…”) It’s a jubilee morning God has sent a decree. That all slaves and all captives Will be finally free; And all debts be forgiven They were cancelled today, What a beautiful morning What a beautiful day. It’s a wonderful morning It’s a wonderful day, All the pain that stayed with me Has been taken away; And the burden I carried On my back for so long, I can’t feel it this morning It was gone with the dawn. There’s a beautiful mountain That God made from above, And he wrapped it in silver And he formed it in love; And I saw it this morning When the clouds rolled away, And I’m crying to see Such a beautiful day.

131 God Sent Manna (Psalms 78:24 “And had rained down manna upon them to eat…”) God sent manna down from heaven To His children long ago, To sustain them on their journey To the Promised Land and so; Still today He’s sending manna In His word and in His song, Fill your baskets with this manna, You’ll be singing all day long. God sends manna down from heaven As we journey on today, Take your basket up and fill it With these melodies and say; We will praise the Lord forever, He has nourished, He has fed, As we journey to the Promise Of a better land ahead. God sends manna down from heaven, Lift your basket to the sky, Catch the blessings like the raindrops That are falling from on high; When you hear the pretty music Hold the notes close to your breast, For ‘tis very previous manna That will make your journey blest.

132 And Then The Rains Came (Psalm 34) ‘Twas a beautiful garden, God tended it well, All His beautiful flowers, They were so quick to tell; Of the bright sunny mornings And the cool evening breeze, While the small birds rested, In the strong tall trees. Noah called out to sinners, So many long years; “The storm it is coming.” But they laughed at his tears; While the ark was preparing God held back the tide, But He closed the door quickly, When they all were inside. Chorus: And then the rains came, And the trees fell down, And the wind blew harder With an awful sound; But then the sun shone And the rainbow found its place, And the little birds sang out, “We were saved by grace.” “Saved by grace.”

133 The Gospel’s Sound (Romans 10:18 “… their sound went out…”) The Gospel has a sound, we know, No other sounds the same, The Church of Jesus Christ will stand, It’s built upon His name. There are many sounds on earth today, There are many spirits too, But nothing sounds so clearly sweet, And nothing rings so true. The Gospel has an ancient sound, Our fathers walked the same, They never left the sound they heard, The Church in Jesus’ name; Contemporary sounds and songs Don’t have the Gospel’s ring, Peculiar so they say we are, Of Latter Days we sing. The Gospel has a lovely sound, It penetrates the night, And lifts away the heaviness And makes the burdens light. Be careful children lest ye march To quite another sound, And leave the ancient path and lose, The Gospel you have found.

134 We Have Found Him, Our Messiah (St. John 1:41 “…We have found the Messiah…”) We have found Him, our Messiah, He has bade us follow Him; Thru the brightest sunny mornings, Thru the night we followed Him. We have loved Him, our Redeemer, Many years we followed Him. Once our youth was like the springtime, Winter’s eyes are growing dim. We have waited by the willows, Where the pathway meets the gate. To the mountain where the sun shines, For ‘twas here He bid us wait. We have seen Him, our Messiah, Reaching for our lowly hand. Leading us into His kingdom, Little children, there we stand.

135 The Watchmen (Isaiah 62:6 “I have set watchmen upon they walls…”) The watchmen on the wall cry out, Like many cried before, “Prepare to meet the coming storm Already at the door!” But still today like way back then, The careless walk on by, And still today upon the wall God’s faithful watchmen cry. When Samuel on the wall cried out So many years ago, “Repent!” he cried to no avail, Their hearts were hard and so They didn’t heed the words he spoke They couldn’t see their day. But many since that time have heard, The watchmen cry and say. The watchmen on the wall have cried So many, many tears, The multitudes have never known The wisdom of their years. But prophecies and prophets spoke Of such a sudden storm, So children heed the wisdom of The watchmen when they warn. Chorus: “Prepare children, prepare!” they cry, “In righteousness be found, When sheltered in God’s warm embrace, No storm can take you down.”

136 When Zion’s Children Come (Jeremiah 31:21 “Set thee up waymarks… set thine heart toward the highway.”) God’s word is sure and long proclaimed, A gathering time for some; With welcome signs along the road, When Zion’s children come. There are handkerchiefs on every tree, And cloths on every vine; And flags on every mountain top, For it’s homecoming time. For it’s homecoming time. There are ribbons on the flowering shrubs, And stepping stones to guide, That none may lose their way back home, ‘Till all are safe inside. There are waymarks on the pathway home, And benchmarks on the wall; And signs on every highways; stretch, When Zion sends her call. When Zion sends her call.

137 Carry Me Back To The Land Of My Fathers (Jeremiah 30:3 “…I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers…”) Carry me back to the Land of my Fathers, Leave me not here where my mind cannot rest; When you are leaving friend carry me with you, Back to my home and the land I love best. Tell me again friend and sing it once over, Say how my country is searching for me; Send out the word now and say we are coming There my true brother we both will be free. Carry me back to the land of our fathers, Let me not die in this troublesome place, Nearing my country, my strength is returning, Reaching my homeland but only by grace. Friend, my true brother, I’m running beside you, Heirs to the land that our fathers portrayed; Pain like a dream that’s a long time forgotten, There stands our mountain in glory arrayed.

138 If Ye Be Willing (Isaiah 1:1 9 “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.”) How great was the love of the Father, That He pitied the fall of the man, of the man, And He sent His own Son that men could be saved, By obeying the salvation plan. How kind and how gracious our Father, That He looked far ahead to our day, to our day, And the plans that He laid for the Kingdom to come, Are the plans we rely on today. Chorus: And if ye be willing, yes, if any be willing. Ye may eat of the best and the fat of the land, There has never been many but if there be any, It’s time for the willing to stand.

139 The Desert Bloomed (Isaiah 43:18-20, Isaiah 35:1) The desert bloomed just like a rose this morning, And life has sprung anew at last today; The long dark nights have fled away this morning, And showers fill the early dawn they say. There’s water in the wilderness this morning, The songbirds sing to greet the rising day; The cattle eat the new mown hay this morning The desert blooms, it blooms again they say. The God of Israel moved His arm this morning, And touched the broken bones where long they lay He brought to life His chosen ones this morning, The desert sings and blooms with joy today. The solitary place is glad this morning, The river’s reached the barren land they say; And all the land sings praise to God this morning, The lovely desert rose has bloomed today.

140 Oh, Say Can You See It? (Isaiah 35:5 “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened…”) Out of the wilderness, into the clearing, And into a much brighter day; And out of the shadows and into the sunshine, The blind man said, “Show me the way!” The blind man had waited to ask this one question, “How tall will the mountains there be?” And if I would lead him along till we got there, Then he could see Zion like me. How blessed the story the latter day glory, The kingdom of Christ here on earth; How blessed the feet that have carried the message, Proclaiming the day of its birth. So many one blinded have reached out to find it, And shouted with joy all the way. And reaching out to it, they walked right on thru it, Their blindness was taken away. Chorus: “Oh, say, can you see it, and sir, could I feel it? My eyes have been blind for so long. I’ve heard all about it, this beautiful city, My yearning to touch it is strong.”

141 The Sparrow’s Song (Matthew 10:29-31) A little sparrow fell today, My Father saw it fall, He reached to earth and picked it up And placed it high up on the wall. Then early on, I’m sure t’was dawn, The little sparrow stood And sang the sweetest song that day This little sparrow ever would. A song of grace, a song of love, A song of rescue from above. It sang God’s praises all day long, It was the little sparrow’s song. The little bird went on to fly Much higher than before, It once could barely stand at all But now that little bird could soar. Afflictions low can lay us down And storms of life surround, But when our Father sees us fall He puts us back up on the wall. My Father loved that little bird And reached down quickly when He heard The little sparrow’s pleading cry, So how much more for you and I?

142 The Mountain’s So Lovely This Time of the Year (Deuteronomy 11:12 “A land which the Lord they God careth for; the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.”)

I’ll build me a cabin that I can call mine, I’ll plant me a fig tree and grow me a vine, The runners reported, “The crossing is clear, And the mountain’s so lovely this time of the year. The mountain’s so lovely this time of the year.” The things that I’ve lost and I’m longing to see, The Lord will recover and bring and bring back to me, The giants are conquered, there’s nothing to fear, And the mountains are lovely this time of the year. The mountains are lovely this time of the year. These old bones will flourish and maybe they’ll run, I’ll grow me a shade tree, a shield from the sun, I’m smiling to see it, while wiping a tear, For the mountain’s so lovely this time of the year. The mountain’s so lovely this time of the year. The angels are coming to visit the earth, The nations are running, they’ve heard of the birth, They’ve heard there’s a prophet, they’ve heard there’s a seer, And the mountains are lovely this time of the year. The mountains are lovely this time of the year.

143 Hold On, I Am Coming (The Carpathia – The rescue ship for the Titanic 1912) “The Carpathia cometh,” the ship was in view, The old rescue vessel drew nigh. How long they had waited when out of the night, That wondrous old vessel came thru. While many were dying and many were lost, And many had fallen asleep, The Captain kept crying, “I’m coming, hold on, To carry you out of the deep.” The cold icy waters had taken a toll, Survivors were seen to be few, When out of the night came a message so clear. “Hold on, I am coming for you.” Chorus: If history’s a teacher, a likeness for sure, We’re treading the waters of hatred and war. Our ship is old Zion, our Captain’s the Lord. He’s calling, “I’m coming to take you on board.”

144 God Made My Mountain Strong (Psalm 30:7 “Lord, by thy favor Thou hast made my mountain to stand strong…”) God said in latter days a mountain He would raise, And that the day would come when we must flee, Far from the cities scene, up to our mountain dream, A place of safety there for you and me. No cannonball that’s formed, no sudden crushing storm, No foreign armies rage can plunder there, For God has fortified that holy mountainside, And long proclaimed that hill a house of prayer. Flee like a mountain bird when troubling sounds are heard, When there’s no place of safety here below, Soar on the mountain breeze, rest on the mountain trees, The smallest bird knows when it’s time to go. Chorus: God made my mountain strong, it stands there all day long And softly calls to me so I must go, When towns and cities fall, that’s when I hear it call, And God has made a way for me to go.

145 Land of the Living (Psalm 27:13 “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”)

Lord, we have wandered like pilgrims and strangers, Sailing deep waters and uncharted seas, Straining and searching, horizons to find her, Carried on trade winds, buoyed on by the breeze. Fear rode the waves that have long since passed over, Where we are going no storms can assail, Seeking our motherland, knowing we’ll find her, God’s hand is leading so we cannot fail. Land of the living, they say it’s a wonder, Men there are living the age of a tree, All men are brothers; there no man’s a stranger, Land has been spotted and soon we will see. Come all ye pilgrims and oftentimes strangers, Come all ye lowly and often oppressed, Sailing these waters, so anxious to find her, Land of the living, our seventh day rest.

146 Sing Glory! (Psalm 96:1 “O Sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.”) Sing glory to God He has given His son, for my life, on the tree. Once Satan had called me his captive, Now glory to God I am free. The angels in heaven sing glory, His praises continually ring. For God has done wonders in heaven, And wonders on earth so we sing. Sing glory to God, He has promised That all He has planned He’ll perform. He’s parting the heavens to save us And carry us out of the storm. Seen riding the clouds, Christ is coming, In power and great glory to earth; To visit His saints that are building, The walls of His kingdom on earth. Chorus: Sing glory, sing glory, sing glory! Our God has done wonderful things He saved us, we’re building His kingdom, ‘Tis glory to God that we sing..

147 This Hope Will Never Die (Psalm 71:14 “But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.”) How long can the heathen rage And children fail to thrive? How long can God’s faithful keep Tomorrow’s hope alive? As long as God is on His throne And stars are in the sky, Until we build those sacred walls This hope will never die. How long can a nation stand, Divided it will fall, How long can our hope survive And rise above it all? As long as days and time remain, And God leads from on high; Until we build those sacred walls This hope will never die. How long will God’s hedge remain Around this promised land? How long can we live in hope That Zion’s walls will stand? As long as prophesies are true, God’s word can never lie; Until we build those sacred walls This hope will never die. How strong Zion’s walls must be To stand one thousand years! How long can we hope to see A time of no sad tears? As long as there are songs and dreams And blessings from on high, Until we build those sacred walls This hope will never die.

148 Prodigal Running (Luke 15:11-32) A sign on the highway, “Has anyone seen A prodigal running this way?” Running and running so fast thru the night, A runaway, running away. The sign on the highway said, “Christ on the cross Had died for this runaway child,” His father had posted on every known road, Rewarding whom ever had found. The sign on the highway said, “Many before Had traveled this long road of sin,” A prodigal running, if anyone’s seen, Try bringing this prodigal in. The sign on the highway said, Runaway child,” Not stopping to think of the cost. Running away from the safety of home, A prodigal running and lost. Chorus: “Prodigal running,” Oh, why did you run? Your father has laid much in store. You’ll never be hungry and never be cold, And never be lost anymore.

149 God Is Leading By His Spirit (Jeremiah 31:9 “They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them…”)

God is leading by His spirit, Speaking to the minds of men: Leading us across the mountains, Places we have never been. God is leading thru the desert Thru the summer’s blazing sun: Saying, “Be a little stronger, For our journey’s just begun.” God is leading by His spirit, Bringing light where there was none: Bringing hope unto the dying, Saying, “Come, my children, come.” Many prophets heard God’s spirit, Many others heard it too: Many children stop to listen Growing stronger when they do. Chorus: Climbing higher, running over, Crossing many mountain streams: Reaching Zion’s holy city, City of a thousand dreams.

150 Where Did Life Go? (Psalm 106:15 “And He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.”) It was twenty long years on the sidelines, Then thirty long years passed away; With forty long years fast approaching, Since I first heard God calling that day. Now it’s fifty long years coming closer, With sixty not so far away; And where did life go now I wonder? Since I first heard God calling that day. Now the things that had seemed so important, The things that had led me astray; Grow pale when I pause to remember, When I first heard God calling that day.

151 The Race (Hebrews 12:1 “…let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”) The goal had been set and the runners were ready, To finish the race the pace must be steady. Now some were so eager and these hearts were light, Some burdened with weights had limited sight. While some ran with hope and with joy every day, And some ran with sorrow each step of the way. Now some took their ease while others ran by, And some looked below while others on high. Now some thought the dangers ahead were too great, But some looked beyond to the prize at the gate. Yes, some carried sorrows and some carried joys, Some carried the world and some carried toys. Now some loved the Savior so dearly you see, It made the race easy, so it seemed to me. With blessings for progress they carried a song, For these ran with Jesus all the daylong. Chorus: So, how are you running today? How are you running today? Run not as weary but pick up the pace, And run well with Jesus to finish the race.

152 When Ephraim Rides (Hosea 10:11 “I will make Ephraim to ride, Judah shall plow and Jacob shall break his clods.”)

When morning rises from its rest, And all the land is clean and blest, Then know ye this my children dear, The day you’ve waited for is here. When winters chilling winds are past, And springtime lifts her head at last, When songs of Zion fill the air, You’ll know the peaceful reign is here. When all the meek regain the earth, And all the labor pains, the birth; When God has washed all tears away, And Israel sings, “Oh, happy day.” With all the islands giving vent, When all the veils on earth are rent, When Zion’s daughters reach this place They’ll cry, “Thank God, we’re here by grace.” Chorus: When Ephraim rides the horses in, And Judah plows the earth again, With Jacob breaking up his clods, While all the land sings praise to God.

153 The Trumpets Were Blowing This Morning Again (I Chronicles 13:8) There’s a song in the desert, a song in the air, It’s calling, inviting God’s children to share, The latter day glory we see coming in The trumpets were blowing this morning again. The trumpets proclaim it’s a new day at last, They play right on over the days of the past, No sad songs of sorrow, nor any of sin, The trumpets were blowing this morning again. The mountains are singing, the hills join the song, The valleys of Zion, they all sing along. The band, it is playing, the day marches in The trumpets were blowing this morning again. The music keeps playing, the children, they run Right into the kingdom of God’s only son, His throne here awaits Him, His reign to begin The trumpets were blowing this morning again.

154 The Fall (Isaiah 30:13 “Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.”)

Joshua went to Jericho and seven times around, A shout went up, the trumpets blew, And all the walls fell down, fell down, And all the walls fell down. When David met Goliath, there a chill was in the air, His stone was small but God was tall, And soon the giant fell, he fell, And soon the giant fell. The walls of sin are tall today, forbidding tho they stand, They’ll never fall until they fall, By God’s almighty hand, His hand, By God’s almighty hand. When men and nations rise in pride God’s hedge will not remain, Forgetting God, a sure decline, The fall begins again, again, The fall begins again.

155 Lead Me To The Waters (I Kings 19:7 “And the angel of the Lord came again the second time and touched him, and said, arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.”)

Lead me to the waters that are cool and still and deep, Resting but a moment for the climb ahead is steep, Set the course and don’t look back until the sorrow’s gone, Wait until the pain subsides and then we’ll journey on. Lead me to the waters that are cool and still and deep, Pause awhile for I have thirst and wait for I must sleep, Strength is gone but God leads on and He will take us thru, Milk and honey just ahead awaiting me and you. Lead me to the waters that are cool and still and deep, Pray the angel hastens with a little piece of cake, Weeping will be over when we reach that peaceful place, Then for sure we’ll smile again and thank the Lord for grace. Lead me to the waters that are cool and still and deep, Thru the burning cities fire and thru the raging street, Pray awhile and sing awhile and then we’ll journey on, Over every obstacle into the waiting dawn.

156 Only Dreamers See (Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”)

There’s a city on the mountain top That only dreamers see, But those that have no vision here, They say it cannot be. But, can’t you smell the roses In the early morning air? So close your eyes and dream the dream That only dreamers share. There’s a city on the mountain top Where only dreamers go, The prophets long portrayed that hill And said that it was so, They said that Christ was coming there And Him I want to see. So all you dreamers close your eyes And dream this dream with me. So many seek a city Just like Abraham of old, But in our day to earthly eyes A city will unfold And dreamers all around the world Are coming here to see, So close your eyes until the dawn And dream along with me. Chorus: And we’ll climb higher, ever higher In our journey to the top, Oh, can’t you hear the music play It never seems to stop, And does that light we’re seeing Mean the dawn has finally broke, Could that be the mountain there Of which the prophets spoke?

157 The Treasure (Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”)

Jesus is the treasure That no jewel on earth can measure A treasure that the poorest man can hold, This treasure, if you seek it You can surely find and keep it More precious far than any earthly gold. Wise men tried to teach it And the dreamers tried to reach it And poor men said this treasure we must find, The dawn, Christ is adorning Like a thousand suns at morning And nations come to see what we have found. Christ, arrayed in glory It’s an old but brand new story He said, “unto His kingdom He would come,” There’s starlight on the fountain He is lighting up His mountain And calling all the nations for to come. Chorus: Some say there were diamonds Where the dew lay on the ground Some say there were rubies In the roses that were found, And sapphires on the branches Where the weeping willows grow But those that find the treasure Are the only ones that know.

158 It’s A Strong Wind (Ether 2:8-10)

It’s a strong wind, it’s a mighty strong wind That blows a strong tree down, It’s a strong wind, it’s a mighty strong wind That is heard the world around. When the strong wind blows everybody knows It was God that brought it down, But the wind won’t cease till the Lord says, “Cease” And the tree is on the ground. It’s a strong song, it’s a mighty strong song The Lord is sending down, It’s a strong song, it’s a mighty strong song That is heard the world around. When the trumpets blow then the strings will know That a new day has begun, And the band will play, “It’s a brand new day” With the rising of the sun. There’s a strong cry, it’s a mighty strong cry Heard in Jerusalem, It’s a strong cry, it’s a mighty strong cry When they cry, “It must be Him.” Then the tears flow free for at last they see And they fall upon the ground, With His wounds laid bare, Jesus cries, “Come here, For my lost sheep I have found.”

159 The Deliverance Song (Psalm 32:7 “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from my trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.”)

The well’s too deep, there’s no way out, The wall’s too high to climb it. The sea’s too dark; the gulf’s too wide, The shore’s too far to find it. It’s too far back; it can’t catch up, A chain’s been tied around it. The chain will break; the dawn will wake, With all dark days behind it. Chorus: Our God is good; let’s sing it well, There’s not a wall that He can’t scale. There’s not a chain that He can’t break, So let’s all sing out, “God is great!” The boat’s too small; the wave’s too high, The shore men cannot brave it. When high above the stormy sea, The Lord calls, “I will save it.” The sky’s too dark; the light’s too dim, The clouds won’t let the sunshine in. The storm’s so wide, no way around, When God moves in a way is found. Chorus: Sing, “God is good.” Sing, “God is great,” And He will rescue if we wait, So let’s all sing it loud and long, Of God and our Deliverance Song.

160 “He’s Coming” (Isaiah 61:1-3)

The birds in the trees sing, “Good morning,” The bird in the cage sings, “Good day,” The signs in the clouds say, “He’s coming,” To take all the cages away. The prisoners, thru bars, see the morning, They’re waiting; they know Christ will come, For freedom, so long they have waited, When all of the bars will be gone. The small bird is only a sparrow, It’s colors of no brilliant hue, No lovelier song in the morning, “He’s coming, He’s coming, it’s true.” The birds in the trees sing of freedom, The bird in the cage sings along, And down in the prison they’re singing, “Our Savior is coming at dawn.” Our Lord and our Savior is coming, To open the prisons one day, To break all the bars on the windows, And take all the cages away.

161 Out Of The Cities (Genesis 19:24 Micah 4:10) God sent the angels to Lot long ago, Leading him out of the city we know. For God would not burn it till Lot went along. Then down came the fire and the city was gone. God’s sending angels again, can’t you see? Out of the cities, again, we will flee. We’re leaving the sorrow; we’re leaving the sin. We’ll never look back, no, no, never again. Out of the thunder and out of the storm, Out of the war cries a nation is born. And all Zion’s children, the meek of the earth, Will live long to tell of the day of its birth. Out of the city and into the field, Zion’s bright kingdom on earth we will build. Then kings will be silent and warring men cease, For almost completely a thousand years peace.

162 Take Up Your Bed Now And Run (Ps. 102:13 ~ Is. 62:1-4) We read there’s a set time for Zion, And children the set time has come, So send out the word to the dying, “Take up your bed now and run.” So many were wounded in battle, Where pain brought down many a one, But Zion calls out to her children, “Take up your bed now and run.” We read of the first great dominion And of its returning again, The garden is blooming this morning, “Take up your bed now and run.” The Lord named this lovely land Beulah, A refuge to all who would come, No longer called Lost nor Forsaken, “Take up your bed now and run.” Chorus: Into the Garden of Eden, Into the arms of God’s Son, The dead there are raised, and the wounded revived, So take up your bed now and run.

163 A Quiet Revelation

(II Nephi 28:30 “…Thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little…”)

There’s a light that’s shining brighter than it’s ever shone before, Like a quiet revelation or God opening a door, And like children at a window seeing things they’ve never seen, With the sudden realization, that it isn’t just a dream. There’s a rose that’s blooming brighter than it’s ever bloomed before, There’s a ship arriving safely where the ocean meets the shore, And where many weary travelers gain their strength at just the sight, Of a quiet revelation, lighting up the darkest night. There was clearly light from heaven when the prophets walked the earth, And so many years have vanished since they spoke of Zion’s birth. Jeremiah can’t be here today; Isaiah’s gone away, But the quiet revelations bring back all they had to say. Chorus: It’s a quiet revelation; It’s a little piece of gold, It’s a little light from heaven that God’s children here can hold, And we’ll praise the Lord from morning till the setting of the sun, For the quiet revelations giving us the strength to run.

164 There’s Another Hill To Take (Is. 31:4 “…so shall the Lord of Hosts come down to fight for Mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.”)

Jesus leads his army and they follow His command, Battle worn and battle scarred, but in His strength they stand. Just when the soldiers think another mile they cannot make, The Lord calls out, “Now steady men, There’s another hill to take. There’s another hill to take. The little army marches on and right into the fray, Gathering the wounded up to fight another day. A soldier’s down, a soldier’s up, the line’s about to break, When from on high the Lord cries, “Men, there’s another hill to take, There’s another hill to take. They don’t run and they don’t hide, Right off to war they go, For truth, the banner reads, “We’ll stand, against the fiercest foe.” The Lord says we must win this fight, and then the dawn will break, Get ready men, around the bend, There’s another hill to take, There’s another hill to take.

165 I Left It There (Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”)

You ask me where my burden went, The one I could not bear, Well, Jesus called from Calvary, Said, “Child, just bring it here.” You ask me where’s the heavy load, That brought my spirit down, Well, when I heard my Savior’s voice, That’s when I laid it down. You ask me why I’m riding high Above this troubled ground. When Jesus called to me that day, I laid that trouble down. Chorus: I took it there, I took it there, I laid it down, I laid it down, I left it there. When Jesus called, I took it there, I laid it down, I laid it down, I left it there.

166 Thru The Stormy Seasons

(Helaman 5:12 “And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fail.”)

Precious gifts on earth abound, With God’s children they are found, Faith and hope and charity, And understanding prophecy. Without dreams we could not soar, Over Canaan’s lovely shore, Without songs our spirits cry, And without vision many die. God in mercy from above, Sends the precious gift of love, Many blessings we receive, When if by faith we just believe. Chorus: Without hope the heart would break, Without God we could not make it Thru the stormy seasons, Thru the stormy seasons.

167 The Outcast

(Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying this is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”)

They called her an Outcast, whom no man desired, This Zion whom no man would seek, But God called her Beulah and said she would be, A refuge for all of the meek. They called her Forsaken and laughed when they said, “Jerusalem’s fallen again,” But God said, “A crown in My hand she will be, And married, her land will be then.” They called her a spoil and thought her a prey, Said, “No man could save her this time,” But God thought her precious and His own delight, Said, “No man can take what is mine.” Chorus: God is restoring her beauty again, Healing her lands and the deep wounds within, And she’ll be called Sought Out, Forsaken no more, And they’ll never call her The Outcast again.

168 They Never Saw It Coming (Isaiah 66:8 “Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the

earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.”)

Freedom’s such a wondrous thing That men the world around, They have fought for it and died for it And wondered where it’s found. They have sung of it and dreamed of it And searched thru all the earth, But they never saw it coming In Christ’s kingdom here on earth.

Christ was born among the cattle In a lowly little town, And His kingdom sprang to life one day Midst cities all around, But they never saw it coming, Never recognized it’s birth, And they never knew when Jesus came That freedom came to earth. Men have searched thru all the ages, For a little peace on earth, But they never placed importance on The Savior’s lowly birth, And they never searched for Jesus So they searched for peace in vain, And they never saw it coming In the blessed Peaceful Reign. There’s a little town that’s growing On a little country hill, And it seemed to spring up suddenly As far as men could tell, But they didn’t see it coming Christ’s own kingdom here on earth, While it’s citizens and countrymen Were singing of its birth.

169 Here He Placed Me, Here I’ll Stay

(Alma 5:60 “…The good shepherd doth call after you; and if you will hearken unto His voice he will bring you into his fold, and ye are his sheep; and he commandeth you that ye suffer no ravenous wolf to enter among you, that ye may not be destroyed.”)

Jesus, like a kindly shepherd, brought me to His fold one day, Where His lambs are fed and nourished, here he placed me, here I’ll stay. Wolves appear in shepherd’s clothing, leading little lambs away, But as for me and for the gospel, here he placed me, here I’ll stay. Little lambs cling to their mothers, little children do the same, And the gospel, she’s my mother; with my mother I’ll remain. I’ll not feed from other pastures; I’ll not go some other way, For it was here the shepherd brought me, here he placed me, here I’ll stay. Many shepherds, false and erring, yonder lead the lambs to eat, Where the wolves will kill and scatter, and the lambs will be their meat. But for me no distant pasture, for I found my place one day, And when the good and kindly shepherd, here he placed me, here I’ll stay.

170 The Rocks Bowed Down (III Nephi Chapter 8) The rocks bowed down when our Savior died, The earth cried out, “He is crucified.” The cities fell and the mountains rose, And many wept for the life they chose. The trees bent low when our Savior died, The weeping willows broke down and cried, The lightning cracked and the thunder roared, For nature knew they had slain our Lord. The tempest raged when our Savior died, No place to run and no place to hide, The whirlwind took many lives away, And where they went, there’s no man can say. Chorus: Cry out brothers; cry out sisters, Cry for the ones who’ve gone astray. Cry like the rocks and the earth when it cried out, Cry for the awful Judgment Day.

171 An Ode To The Morning

(II Peter 1:19 “We have a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day star arise in your hearts.”)

A little wren sings of the morning light, It sang thru the storm and it sang thru the night, It sang thru the wind, it sang thru the rain, And this is the song the little wren sang. The little wren’s song, it went on and on, It sang of the day and it sang of the dawn, It sang of an end to the long dark night, And it sang this ode to the morning light. The little wren sings of the day star’s shine, It lights up the world and this heart of mine, And the day star’s light doesn’t shine in vain, For it lights the dawn of the Peaceful Reign. Chorus: Let the light shine down and the day star rise, In the hearts and minds and the eastern skies, Let the joy burn bright thru the long dark night, And sing an ode to the morning – And sing an ode to the morning.

172 Come, My Friend

(Rev. 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come, And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”)

Come, my friend, receive the Gospel, Precious gift I bring to you, All I have of worth I offer, Precious gospel plain and true. Precious gospel plain and true. Come, my friend, into the water, Fall beneath the cleansing tide, Rise again, a new creation, Where God’s spirit can abide. Where God’s spirit can abide. Go, my friend, the world is waiting, Find another just like you, Give the gift, so freely given, Precious gospel plain and true. Precious gospel plain and true.

173 With Pity, Dear Father (Psalm 103:13 “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.”)

With pity, dear Father, look on thy people, Send angels to guard every door, That no evil could enter a home or a heart, Let Thy spirit abide evermore. Father, remind us when our memory fails, Who we are and what we should be, That some child of darkness thru us see a light, And some bound by sin be set free. Father, with mercy, grant pardon to all, Who in some way come short of the goal, Unworthy of favor, just pleading Thy grace, Thru the blood make us perfectly whole.

174 I Am That I Am (Exodus 3:14 “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”)

When Israel was taken in bondage, Afflictions were grievous to bear, And like us, they bowed down in sorrow, And cried out to God in despair. The taskmasters laid heavy burdens, God’s people cried many long years, Their backs and their hearts nearly broken, But God, looking down, saw their tears. Some thought no one there could deliver, Not thinking of God’s mighty hand, When God called on Moses, His servant, To bring them to Canaan’s fair land. The God of our fathers has spoken, “I AM THAT I AM,” hear Him say, And when He delivers His children, There’s nothing can stand in His way. Chorus: “I AM THAT I AM, He has sent me,” Said Moses, God’s servant one day, And thus God delivered His people, And thus He’ll deliver today.

Well, what do you know! The day walked in, And we all cried out, “Oh, where have you been?” We’ve searched for years for the dawn’s first light, And we suffered long thru the cold harsh night. Well, what do you know! Like a long lost friend, We wept with joy that the Lord would send, Such a beautiful day where the weary rest, And didn’t we dream of a day so blest. Well, what do you know! A small child leads, A lion’s cub while a little lamb feeds, Where the peaceful kingdom’s free from sin, God opened the door and the day walked in. “Oh where have you been?” We cried again, And the sun just beamed when the day walked in, “We’ve heard for years you were on the way, Well, what do you know, today’s the day!”

176 Didn’t It Shine (Psalms 50:2 “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.”) We watched the sea for a distant light, “That ship’s gone down,” some said, “in the night,” But we said, “Not so, on this we’ll stand, Old Zion’s ship will soon reach land.” Some said, “You’ll see,” when we first caught sight, “It’s not a ship; it’s only a light,” But the light grew bright, their voices dim, When the Lord called out, “I’m bringing her in.” Thru the mist it came, all gold and white, We saw at once that the old ship’s light, Was the Lord himself, to our surprise, And it shone so bright we covered our eyes. Chorus: Didn’t it shine when it first appeared, And didn’t we laugh And didn’t we cry And didn’t we cheer!

177 Oh, Beautiful Zion (I Nephi 21:14 “But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me – but he will show that he hath not.” )

Oh, beautiful Zion, our latter day theme, The prettiest picture, the loveliest dream, The prophets portrayed it, that others might see, And pass down the vision to you and to me. With signs in the heavens and tempests on earth, God’s word has declared it, a kingdom’s new birth, The lamb and the lion, the wolf and the kid, And records revealing what once had been hid. To live in an era and witness the birth, The literal gathering of Israel on earth, A day of rejoicing, but sorrow for some, Who never received it or thought it would come. Chorus: Sing out, Oh ye heavens, be joyful, Oh earth, Because of the promise of Zion’s sure birth, They say God’s forsaken and that He’s forgot, But God in great power will show He has not.

178 The Cattle On A Thousand Hills (Psalm 50:10 “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”)

No king can match my Father’s wealth, And never one so wise, The heavens and earth and seas are His, And everything that in them lies, All the violets and the daffodils, And the cattle on a thousand hills. And the cattle on a thousand hills. The God of all the universe, My Father owns it all, Every living thing wakes up at once, In answer to my Father’s call, All the hummingbirds and the whippoorwills, And the cattle on a thousand hills, And the cattle on a thousand hills. The silver mines, the copper fields, Are under His domain, The rivers that feed the waterfalls, And the diamonds on the diamond mine walls, All the valley’s streams and the mountain rills, And the cattle on a thousand hills, And the cattle on a thousand hills.

I, who am nothing, my Father’s a king, He rescues His children from sin, Prepares me a banquet, no prince could afford And I, who am nothing, go in. I, who am nothing, my Father’s a king, He watches the storm coming in Prepares me a shelter and leads me along, And I, who am nothing, go in. I, who am nothing, my Father’s a king, He knows when the dry spells begin, Prepares an oasis and beckons me come, And I, who am nothing, go in. I, who am nothing, my Father’s a king, He sees when the wolves leave the den, Prepares me a hedge where His angels stand guard, And I, who am nothing, go in.

180 He Sits Upon The Circle Of The Earth (Isaiah 40:22 “It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers…”)

God took away my shackles and He took away my tears, He took away the sadness that had followed many years, With all the disappointments from high places coming down, He picked me up and brushed me off and offered me a crown. God took away my burden that I could no longer bear, He took away the loneliness; He took away the fear, He cut away the cruel and cold and hindering restraints, He held me close and numbered me with all His precious saints. God wiped away my failures, all the times I couldn’t see, The plan of He who rules the earth and channels up the sea, He sits upon the circle of the earth but not in vain, He counts the little grasshoppers and knows us all by name. Chorus: He sees His children when they cry, He knows each one from birth, Because He sits so high upon The circle of the earth.

181 He’s My Rock (Lamentations 3:24 “The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;

therefore will I hope in Him.” Psalms 16:5 “The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.”)

The Lord, He is my portion, He’s my share and He’s my part, The only wealth that I possess is Jesus in my heart, My hope is only in the Lord, my stay is in His love, Tho’ earthly friends may turn away I have this friend above. And He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. And He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. Tho’ storms of life may come and go, and trials take a toll, But still the love of Jesus is a constant in my soul, No matter where my pathway leads, He’s never far away, For all the love He’s given me, I’ll thank Him every day. For He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. For He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. The Lord, He is my confidence, my portion and my part, He lives way up in heaven and so dearly in my heart, He is my strength in trouble and in all the coming days, For He’s my song each morning and at night my song of praise. For He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. For He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. The Lord, He’s my inheritance, my treasure and my cup, And when I’m feeling empty He is there to fill it up, And when I’m feeling troubled then His arms are open wide, The rock of my salvation is the place I run to hide. For He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend. For He’s my rock, my confidence, my friend.

182 Then All the Earth Will Sing (Is. 12:5 “Sing unto the Lord; for He hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.”)

When there’s no tears from death and pain, When there’s no thoughts of worldly gain, When there’s no enemies to fear, We’ll know the peaceful reign is here, The peaceful reign is here. When charity warms every door, When heaven’s riches clothe the poor, When faith at last is something seen, We’ll know this day is not a dream, This day is not a dream. When Zion’s daughters gather ‘round, When all the tribes on earth are found, When Christ in glory comes to earth, To bring about His kingdom’s birth, To bring His kingdom’s birth. When Israel’s colors bring a smile, When all the rainbows turn and bow, When all the suns that ever shone, Will shine to welcome Israel home, To welcome Israel home. When wisdom wears a silver gown, When understanding wears a crown, When peace reigns like a lovely queen, Then all the earth will sing, will sing, Then all the earth will sing.

183 From The Pit Up To the Mountain (II Kings 13:17-21 “And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance…”)

Joseph, many years had pondered, On the place, from whence he came, From the pit up to the palace, From obscurity to fame. When the trials sound like thunder, When the sunshine turns to rain, Then God’s arrow of deliverance, Sends an ending to the pain. Holy Mountain, Zion’s city, Calls to all who would believe, And to all His dying children, Sending down the Lord’s reprieve. There’s no dying on the mountain There’s no grave clothes waiting there, Christ alone, of life, the giver, Touches all who enter here. Chorus: From the pit, up to the mountain, From the dead God’s children rise, Leave the grave clothes all behind you, On the mountain is the prize.

184 From Steeple To Steeple (Joel 2:20 “But I will remove far off from you the

northern army…”) The war had been over, the enemy gone, The awful invasion was past, The old church bells rang it, the people they sang it, God brought home His children at last. Some came by the hundreds, some by the thousands, And some only one at a time, But all heard the music and all heard the message, And all heard the old church bells chime. Some over the mountains and over the borders, And over the rivers and streams, Some carried their babies, some carried their fathers, And some only carried their dreams. Chorus: From steeple to steeple, telling God’s people, “The long war had finally been won.” The army retreated, at long last defeated, We knew we had won when the angels came down.

185 Arise From the Dust (Isaiah 51:23 “…Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.”)

Oppression has followed God’s people, Thru centuries and ages of time, But God sees His covenant children, “And these,” He has said, “they are mine.” Awake, Oh my people, my chosen, And sing on the long pathway home, No longer on roads of affliction, The day of deliverance has come. Arise from the dust, God has spoken, No longer to weep nor to howl, Adorned in such beautiful garments, No longer in sorrow to bow. Oppressors brought many afflictions, But God, our Lord, said in His word, In Zion oppressors will perish, No longer these words will be heard. Chorus: “Bow down,” they said, “and we’ll go over,” We laid down our bodies for years, Like the ground and a street they walked over, Like a road thru a long trail of tears.

If we make it through the night Oh, what a morning that will be, If we make it thru the hard times Then the sun will shine, you’ll see – If we hold a little longer To the rod of our belief, Till God’s soothing hand Heals our troubled land And the troubled find relief. If we make it to the border Of a brand new nation’s birth, We will join the builders building There Christ’s kingdom here on earth – And He’ll come in all His glory While the bells in heaven ring Then the tribes will come And unite as one And we’ll gather ‘round and sing. Oh, the rod of our belief Has made it clear to us today, That the hand of providence Has brought us safely all the way, And the God of all the universe Has caused all wars to cease On the prophet’s land Where God’s little band Plays a melody of peace.

187 The Eagle’s Flight (Matt. 6:10 “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is

in heaven…” Dan. 2:44 “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed…it shall stand forever.”)

The eagle on the mountain stood And fiercely looked around, But when God said, “It’s time to fly,” That eagle left the ground, He soared over the valleys where The people stopped to look, For when his song had touched the earth, ‘Twas then the whole land shook. The eagle took its early flight Into the morning sun, And everywhere its song was heard It seemed new life had sprung, For everywhere the grass turned green And everybody knew, The song the eagle sang that day Of peace on earth was true. That eagle flew at morning and That eagle flew at noon, Some said, “It cannot be because That eagle flew too soon,” But when God said, “It’s time to fly,” It left its lofty nest, And brought the message down to earth, The Seventh Day of Rest. Chorus: And he soared high and he soared low, And he sang out, “It’s time to go,” So dry your tears, there’s been a birth, Christ’s kingdom’s come at last to earth.

188 God Brought Us Thru (Leviticus 26:13 “I am the Lord your God which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt…”)

God brought us thru the desert when the sun was burning hot, He brought us thru the wilderness, he never once forgot – He brought us thru the tempest and thru many a raging storm, Into the land the prophets saw of honey, wine and corn. God brought us thru the floods with all the waters rising fast, He brought us thru the blazing fire and took us right on past – He loved us when nobody loved us, when nobody cared, And made us rich beyond degree, when heavens wealth He shared. God brought us thru the wars and all the rumors of the past, For when the armies left our land, of them we saw the last – He put the moon to sleep; the night had many days to rest, And when the sun came up at dawn, we knew that day was blest.

Chorus: And we will sing God’s praise, thru all the coming days, Thru all the endless years, for He has dried our tears, And brought us safely to the land the prophets knew, And here we’ll dwell in peace with Christ, our Lord.

189 Show Me My Vine and My Fig Tree (Micah chapter 4)

Show me the top of the mountain, That there the Lord’s house I might see, High over the hills and above them, Where all of God’s people are free. Show me where nations are coming, That there I might view their return, And rest for a while on the summit, Oh, Father for that place I yearn. Show me that land where the builders, Are gathering beautiful stones, That there I might join in the building Of Zion, our city and home. Show me the way to the summit, That there I might not lose my way, Send word up the mountain, “We’re coming” We’ve waited so long for this day. Chorus: Show me my vine and my fig tree, That there I may rest for awhile, The sorrows of life here surround me, Where every step seems like a mile.

190 Man The Boats (Ether 2:6-7 “And it came to pass that they did travel in the wilderness, and did build barges, in which they did cross many waters, being directed continually by the hand of the Lord. And the Lord would not suffer that they should stop beyond the sea in the wilderness, but he would that they should come forth even unto the land of promise, which was choice above all other lands, which the lord God had preserved for a righteous people.)

Man the boats and all be ready, To the Promised Land we go, Tho’ the crossing may be daring, We won’t hesitate to go. Get aboard if you are going, Get aboard if you would see, Where the mother’s been delivered, And the child is running free. Every lifeboat filled and searching, Every vessel has been manned, Looking back is not an option, Onward to the Promised Land. Climb aboard and hold on tightly, There’s no need for going down, Land is near and has been sighted, What we’ve searched for has been found.

191 God Will Restore (Joel 2:25-27 “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.”)

When I can’t walk and I can’t sing, And I can’t see a single thing, Then all at once to my delight, The Lord sends down a little light. When trouble’s knocking at my door, And I am tired and weak and poor, Then all at once from up above, The Lord sends down a little love. When all the earth is veiled in sin, And all the world is closing in, Then all at once at God’s command, The veil is rent throughout the land. Chorus: Then I can walk, and I can see, and I can sing, And I can hear the bells in heaven when they ring, And God says, “Child, I will restore, All that’s been lost, through all the years, to you and more.”

192 One Of A City And Two Of A Family (Jeremiah 3:14 “Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion…”)

One of a city and two of a family, They’re leaving for Zion today. God’s hand is leading, His angels preceding, And showing His people the way. So pray you can find it, the beauty behind it, When God opens wide Zion’s door, For only the righteous can enter that city, And dwell there in peace evermore. Turn back ye children and turn back ye nations, And turn while there’s still time to turn. Hear the Lord calling, His judgments are falling, And oh, what a lesson to learn. It’s onward to Zion, the lamb and the lion, The wolf and the bear and the kid, And all those refusing to turn to the Savior Will wish on this day that they did. One of a city and two of a family, And three by the mercies of God, Reach for the hand that is reaching to save you, And pray that your number is called. The sinners are grieving; God’s people are leaving, So pray that you’re counted with them. Jerusalem’s waiting, oh, what celebrating, When all of God’s children are in. Chorus: Oh, it’s one of a city and two of a family, So pray that you’re numbered within, The list God is calling while cities are falling, And many are dying in sin.

193 We Were There (Zec. 2:10 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.”)

God’s soldiers marched into the dawn Their tears had dried and life went on They left behind a solemn fate And marched right on to Zion’s gate. Ah, how they sang and how they cheered When battered, torn our flag appeared With shouts of victory in the air A nation rose and we were there. So many years the fight went on Of good and evil right and wrong But Jesus prayed, “Thy kingdom come” And now it’s here and we have won. When all the earth was cleansed from sin And all the flowers bloomed again When every knee had bowed in prayer We saw it all for we were there. When Christ himself comes down to earth To see about His kingdom’s birth And dwell among His children here We’ll long proclaim that we were there.

194 Holy, Holy, Holy (Rev. 4:8 “…and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”)

Jesus put his arms around me, Brought me through a valley deep, To a mountain high and holy, Where I saw His other sheep. They were running to the mountain not so very far away, And I heard them singing, “Holy!” They sang, “Holy!” all the way. They sang, “Holy is the Father!” They sang, “Holy is the Son!” And holy is the mountain where His kingdom has begun. They sang, “Holy, Holy, Holy!” They sang, “Holy!” all day long. Then the angels joined the chorus and all nature joined the song. Unto Judah, He’s a Lion. Unto God, He is a Lamb. Unto us, He is our Savior, and He’s coming back again. He is coming to His mountain, where we’ll all unite and sing, We’ll sing, “Holy, Holy, Holy!” To our Savior and our King.

195 No Funeral Trains (Isaiah 28:18 “And your covenant with death shall be

disannulled...”)

We’ll praise the Lord, He bought us And He made our sure escape. The straight path that He laid down Is the pathway that we’ll take. He’ll bring us up the mountain Over Zion’s borderline, And bring the latter glory in Where Israel’s face will shine. There never were a people Known before at any time, That lost so much and gained so much And left so much behind. There never was a nation born Where people were so free, To serve the God of heaven Right into eternity. Chorus: There’ll be no funeral trains Where we are going. There’ll be no shrouds To hide a sunny day; And the burdens and afflictions, They were all left at the line. The border on the mountain Is too high for them to climb.

196 Watchman, What of the Night? (Isaiah 21:11 “…Watchman, what of the night?

Watchman, what of the night?”) Watchman, what of the night now, Oh, what of the night? And what say ye now of the dawn? The mountains are crying, While waiting for Zion, Oh, Watchman, say what of the night? Oh, Watchman, say what of the night? Watchman, seest the morning, The end of the night? Say, when will the healing begin? The valleys are sighing, While searching for Zion Oh, Watchman, say what of the night? Oh, Watchman, say what of the night? Watchman, sing of the morning, The valleys will hear, And say to the mountains, don’t cry. The Lord, He is coming, To bring about Zion, And bid this long night time goodbye. And bid this long night time goodbye.

197 Come All Ye Unclean (II Kings 5:9 “So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha…”)

One day there was Naaman the leper, To Israel back then he was sent, To seek out Elisha the prophet, God healed him the day that he went. The poor man cried out I’m a leper, To touch him was never a thought, The crowd walked afar and around him, Till one day he sought Jesus out. Come all ye unclean Christ will save you, And wash you from sin’s every spot, Then just like the leper you’ll shout out, “Unclean, praise the Lord, I am not.” Chorus: Praise God for His son, He has saved me. What joy to my life He has brought, I’m free and I’m clean, I’m delivered, A leper, praise God, I am not.

198 The Spirit And The Bride Say Come (Rev. 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”)

There’s a fountain that flows from the Savior’s side, A healing stream and a cleansing tide, Come now and taste of this sweet reprieve, The waters of life if you would receive. Say, oh come from the highways of sin and strife, Come to this fountain, the tree of life, Call to the thirsty, say, “Come, oh come,” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come, come, come.” There’s a latter day song with a message sweet, Of a mountain home and a safe retreat, Where the Lord’s own house lights the early dawn, And all who would come sing this same sweet song. Chorus: The Spirit says come and the bride says come, The Spirit and the bride say come, come, come, The Spirit and the bride say come.

199 Somebody’s Baby, Somebody’s Son (Luke 15:13 “And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country….”)

A little lamb wandered and traveled abroad, Searching for fortune and fame, Somebody’s mother was waiting at home, Somebody’s father was doing the same. So many tears later the young lamb awoke, Finding his wandering heart broke, The mother who waited had gone on before, The father who loved him’s not here anymore. So, come while there’s time son, and run to the fold, Your father has riches untold, With mercy for teardrops and blessings like dew, He’s watching the highways and waiting for you. Chorus: Somebody’s baby, somebody’s son, Wandered away, what a loss, Far from the safety of family and home, Far from his Savior who died on the cross.

200 We Walk Together (Duet. 2:7 “For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through the great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.”)

God has a fellowship with men, He leads the way, I follow Him, And when I fall, He picks me up, And when I’m thirsty, He presents a loving cup. God understands, He teaches me, Because Christ died, He says I’m free, When I am weak, He’s always strong, His shoulder waits and when I need, I lean upon. God sits upon His throne on high And we converse, just Him and I I feel His hand reach down to earth I’ve held it tightly since the day of my new birth. Chorus: I do not push, He does not shove, I shine His light, He shows His love With God and I, there is no strife. We walk together on the highways here of life.

201 Every Long Mile (Isaiah 65:24 “And it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”)

We called out to God, “Are you coming? The battle is fierce and we fear,” Then down through the clouds came the answer, “My children, I’m already there!” Before any prayers reached the heavens, Before we had uttered a word, God calmed all our fears with His answer, “My children, I already heard!” The night had grown dark and then darker, “Would God send a sign of His love?” As quick as the lightning He answered, “My children, I already have!” “Oh, Father, just when were you with us?” The question it seemed brought a smile, His kindness shone through when He answered, “My children, just every long mile!”

202 Following God Thru The Wilderness (Deut. 2:7 “…He knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee…”) Following God thru the wilderness, Knowing His senses are keen, Following God when the road is so dark, Knowing He sees the unseen, Trusting each day in His mercy, Walking each day in His love, Following God when I can’t see the way, Knowing He leads from above. Following God thru the wilderness, Knowing He knoweth the way, Following God thru the enemy lines, Driving their armies away, He’s never lost any battles, He never fell to the foe, Following God when I can’t see ahead, Knowing He knows where to go. Following God thru the wilderness, Over the mountains we go, Following God thru the bright summer days Into the cold winter snow, Over the fire and the fury, Over the ravage of war, On to that city we’ve longed so to see, There we’ll find peace evermore.
