Wisconsin Alternate Accountability
Webinar Agenda:
• What schools participate in the Alternate Accountability process?
• Completing the Alternate Accountability form
• Alternate Accountability Ratings
• Required Documentation

The Alternate Accountability process is for schools that do not have the necessary data to calculate standard report card scores. These include:
• New schools
• Schools with fewer than 20 full academic year (FAY) students
• Schools without tested grades (excluding K-2 schools with a direct
feeder pattern)
• Schools exclusively serving at-risk students (must also complete
At-Risk Designation Form)

School Principal and District Administrator must sign form to assure data accuracy and meet documentation requirements

Alternate Accountability Performance Priority Areas
Alignment with standard report cards, including:
1. Academic Achievement – Reading/English Language Arts May use measures of attainment, growth, and/or gap closing as evidence of achievement
2. Academic Achievement – Mathematics
May use measures of attainment, growth, and/or gap closing as evidence of achievement
3. Other Outcomes – On Track • On-track for next educational level and/or career and college ready
• May include graduation, attendance, course completion, discipline, or
other local measures

Alternate Accountability Ratings
Performance RatingsEach of the 3 performance priority areas will receive a rating based on the
outcomes described on the form.
• Improving
• Maintaining
• Declining
Accountability Rating (overall)Based on the 3 performance ratings, an Alternate Accountability Rating will be determined.
• Alternate Rating – Satisfactory Progress
• Alternate Rating – Needs Improvement

Other examples of evidence:
WKCE, student report cards, classroom assessments, AIMS Web assessment, STAR Reader, Scholastic Reading Inventory, etc.
