    East Asia's financial collapse damages and weakens the economy of neighboring economies,bringing down all countries. Obviously, china was also affected in this. The banking system was

    overwhelmed with bad loands and was on the verge of collapse.

    Before, the state owned companies weren't as monitored prior to 1998. But the economic

    slwodown completely changed China. Thousands of state-owned companies were restructured,and millions of workers were laid off.

    He wants thousands of state-owned companies will be completely restructured from the ground

    up resulting in millions of workers being laid off. In addition, nearly 4 million civil service jobs

    I believe this was the first time China encouraged private property. They promoted the idea ofprivate property by recomming that residents buy houses previously assigned to them by the

    When companies were torn down, millions lost jobs. This brought the unemplyment level very

    high.

    What helped Chinas economy to grow so rapidly? In general what characteristics does

    the population of a country need to have in order for its economy to grow and be amajor player in the world? Did that growth insure that everyone in China was better

    off? Explain

    The chinese had a booming population, which resulted in a growing work force. The large

    population allowed for rapid expansion in the urban cities where buisness boomed. Except thebooming population woud later hold back the country with lack of resources to feed its booming

    population.

    China joins the World Trade Organization.China's entry was expected to boost and to open itshuge market to the rest of the world.
