Engaging Community Stakeholders and Building Community Partnerships
39
Why Stakeholder Involvement is Critical
It takes a ‘village’ to educate a child, to build our youth.
No single agency can fulfill the responsibility of educating and developing the youth.
Everyone is accountable to youth development. The goal of education is everybody’s goal.
40
Why Stakeholder Involvement is Critical (continued)
Partnering with community stakeholders helps create a constituency for youth development, so that when the agency needs support it gets it… immediately!
Partnerships also strengthen community stakeholders.
41
Successful Stakeholder Involvement
Means:
Collaboration and partnerships as a way of life for DepEd.
42
Successful Stakeholder Involvement is Achieved by:
Gathering input from stakeholders Including stakeholders in decision makingGiving feedback to stakeholdersContinuous communicationMaking stakeholder involvement an
integral part of agency/school operationsPracticing true “collaboration”
43
Who are Potential Stakeholders?
Internal – parents, teachers, studentsExternal – other public schools,
private schools, higher education institutions, alumni, commercial establishments, industries, civic groups, social clubs, etc.
44
Forms of Partnerships
1. Donate equipment, tools, materials, etc. (PF 1)
2. Serve as trainers of SHS teachers (PF 2)
3. Serve as resource person to SHS classes (PF 3)
4. Provide technical expertise in curriculum planning (PF 4)
5. Use of laboratories/shoprooms (PF 5)
6. Accept on-the-job trainees (PF 6)
45
