1 Ultimate Engineering Experience Volunteer Kick Off April 2012 2 Program Summary The Ultimate Engineering Experience is a dynamic, high energy program that provides: hands-on technical engineering experience through a variety of technical skill development activities, team based project work and competitions professional skill development, and networking and social activities. The goal of the program is to provide underclassman a rich engineering experience, and help them understand what its like to be an Intel Engineer. They will be exposed to different parts of the engineering/manufacturing process, so they can see the practical application to what theyll be learning. This will be offered part-time to provide additional flexibility for students, 20 hours per week. There will be a 6 week morning session and a 6 week afternoon session. Each session will host freshman/sophomore students from local community colleges and universities. 5 Volunteer Opportunities IUEE RolesRole Description Total time commitment this summer Number of volunteers needed per site Technical mentors Mentors will support three students during a Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon session for five weeks. This will include a lab/site tour during the final week. 1-2 hours a week for six weeks (Wednesdays) 5-10 hours total 2 per team/per session 7 teams Can be combined with the coach role Team Coaches Coaches will assist students during their projectse.g.., building a robot or designing an app 6-8 hours a week depending on the project 7 volunteers per project Can be combined with the mentor role Intel guest speakers Technical experts will speak to students on various topics, outlining your own education and work experiences. 1-2 hours total2 - 4 You can volunteer for more than one role!!
