34

Securing Testing Materials (p. 18)

• No testing materials may be photocopied, duplicated, or made accessible to non-testing personnel

• Teachers should not review test books before test (SPED teachers pre-selecting and translators are the only exceptions)

35

5 Steps in Securing Testing Materials

1. DTC verify that every school has all testing materials secured at all times

2. DTC distribute the materials to all STC’s in the district

3. STC distribute Examiner’s Manuals as soon as possible to all who will administer the test

4. STC collect all students’ draft work and securely destroy

5. DTC deliver appropriate number and type of test books and ancillary testing materials to students’ out-of-district school prior to the first day of testing and make arrangements for returning materials

Page 36: 1 Test Coordinator’s Manual 2007. 2 MAP 2007 R equired: Comm Arts Grades 3 - 8 and 11 Math Grades 3 - 8, and 10 Voluntary: Science Grades 3, 7, and 10.

36

Materials Needed for Each Examiner (p. 19)

37

Step 3 Collect Testing Materials (pp. 20-21)

• Use pp. 20-21 as a checklist to ensure all bullets have been completed

• All used and unused books must be returned including Examiner’s Copy

• Communication Arts writing drafts and Math scratch papers must be collected and securely destroyed

Page 38: 1 Test Coordinator’s Manual 2007. 2 MAP 2007 R equired: Comm Arts Grades 3 - 8 and 11 Math Grades 3 - 8, and 10 Voluntary: Science Grades 3, 7, and 10.

38

Markings in Test Booklets (p. 20)

1. Test books completed in ink must be transcribed in another test booklet with a non-mechanical #2 pencil in order to be scored.

2. Student responses written on coding tracks/margins must be erased and transcribed onto the response line or box

Page 39: 1 Test Coordinator’s Manual 2007. 2 MAP 2007 R equired: Comm Arts Grades 3 - 8 and 11 Math Grades 3 - 8, and 10 Voluntary: Science Grades 3, 7, and 10.

39

Markings in Test Booklets

3. All stray marks on the coding track must be erased.

4. All underlining of text have been erased around the answer choices (MC).

Page 40: 1 Test Coordinator’s Manual 2007. 2 MAP 2007 R equired: Comm Arts Grades 3 - 8 and 11 Math Grades 3 - 8, and 10 Voluntary: Science Grades 3, 7, and 10.

40

Step 4 Check the Organization

of Materials Collected (pp. 22-23)

• After testing large white envelopes should contain, in order, the items indicated on page 22

44

Step 6 Check the Teacher/Group

Information Sheet (GIS) (pp. 31-32)

• Essential that GIS’s are accurate and placed on top of books whose scores are to be reported together

• If error in pre-coded GIS notify DTC (GIS cannot be photocopied)
