Dear TASBO members, On behalf of the TASBO Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 51 st Annual TASBO Conference and Exhibits. The event is being held November 14-17, 2017, at the Murfreesboro Embassy Suites and Convention Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. We’ll be “taking care of school business” as we focus on informative educational sessions, inspire you with thought-provoking keynote speakers, strengthen existing ties, and forge new relationships. We also look forward to recognizing individuals who have contributed to our success. I hope you enjoy the assortment of exciting training opportunities being provided for both new and veteran business officials. You are encouraged to visit our vendors and sponsors because they are a valuable resource to our business. This year, the conference program will be handled in an electronic manner through an app called Eventpedia. You will be able to access the calendar of events, session times, and names of speakers as well as entertainment and menus all at the click of a button on your smart phone! With that being said, we will not be handing out paper programs as we have in the past. If you prefer a paper format, you will need to go to the website and print your own copy. During our conference, we will be able to give back to children and families through our continued support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis. Members of TASBO can offer support to the families at the Memphis Ronald McDonald House by placing money donations (cash or checks) in the donation box at the conference registration desk. You can also bring items for our silent auction. Information about the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis can be viewed at http://rmhc-memphis.org On Wednesday come casual in rolled up jeans and cardigans for the ladies (think Laverne and Shirley) and guys can channel their inner greaser, Nat King Cole or “the Fonz”! Thursday we would like to see every district dressed in their district t-shirts during the day. Then on Thursday night we will be hosting a sock hop so wear your favorite 50’s dance attire (poodle skirts for the ladies and lettermen sweaters for the guys.) Your officers and board of directors have worked diligently throughout the year to bring you a conference filled with outstanding staff development and meaningful networking opportunities. PLEASE GO TO WWW.TASBO.NET AND UNDER THE LOGO “REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE”. You can also find us on Twitter at TASBO (@TASBO11) or visit us on our Facebook page at TASBO (all caps). I look forward to seeing all of you in Murfreesboro! Anita Hays Anita Hays 2017 TASBO President
