PRINCIPAL’S
NEWS Our ‘Wild Weather – Unit Presentation’
yesterday was a huge success and thank
you to everyone, parents, grandparents
and community members, who were
guests of the students
for their End of Term
Celebration. We hope you enjoyed
your visit to our school as the children
had worked hard to present full
classrooms of their hard work to show
you. We had some fantastic demonstrations to share!
On Wednesday, we travelled to Howard State School
for the musical performance of ‘The Jungle Book’. Mrs
Horner had worked so hard
with the Howard students to
make this performance a success.
Thank you to all parents for
transporting our students and
sharing this great experience
with them.
These performances of Disney Jungle Book Kids, (Primary School)
are given by permission of Hal Leonard Australia Pty. Ltd. exclusive
agent for Music Theatre International of New York, NY.
I was away on Tuesday this week, due to
Wide Bay Cricket duties in Bundaberg. My
thanks, as always, to Mrs Corfield who taught
in my absence.
Enjoy the two weeks break, whether at home or away. If travelling, we wish you a safe journey. See you all again on Tuesday 3rd October 2017!
A reminder to all students, families and
community members that our school
grounds will be OUT OF BOUNDS, as
normal, over the two week holiday
break. Safety for all is of the highest
priority.
Swimming Starts – Term 4
A reminder to all parents that our school swims each
Monday next term, beginning in week
two on Monday 9th October. Students
will need their togs, towel, and goggles
if required. I have also suggested a
swimming cap for longer hair. The
school will supply sunscreen.
Parent volunteers would be a big help again this term
for Prep, Years 1 and 2. Please let me know if you are
available or just show up at the pool by 11:30am on
Monday!
Pencil Case Check!
Please check with your child/ren over the
holidays as to whether their pencil cases need
replenishing with lead pencils, rubbers, rulers,
sharpeners and colours to start next Term.
Glue seems to need replenishing for all students
please! These items have become very scarce
lately and the school will not provide
stationery items!
Prep Enrolments 2018
Enrolments are now being accepted for Prep
students for 2018 wishing to attend Dallarnil
State School. Enrolment packages are available
from the office on request.
Home Reading Draw
This week’s home reading winners are…
Lachlan Drescher-2)
&
Courtney Spry (3-6)
Well done, Lachlan & Courtney!
It is certainly great to encourage nightly reading and
wonderful to develop the habit. Home Reading is part of
Homework Expectations for all children.

Helpers Needed!
Please consider helping out!
“Many Hands Make
Light Work!” Dallarnil Sports BBQ Stall
Thank you to everyone for working at our BBQ stall
to raise funds and to all families who supported the
school and P&C. It was a disappointing day again
crowd wise, but our hard work selling burgers paid
off! Again, our super display of home
cooking was a great addition to our tea and
coffee, so not all was lost! Thank you
again.
September Wedding Catering
The next major fundraising event the P&C have been
asked to cater for is the ‘Wykes Wedding’ tomorrow!
Helpers will be needed for after lunch preparation at
the school tuckshop, cooking, afternoon and evening
serving and event waiting, clean up and/or monetary
donations. Please remember all
fundraising efforts always go towards the
excellent education and wonderful
learning experiences provided to our
students.
Helpers at Woowoonga Hall need to arrive for a 4pm
start and please remember to wear black and white
waiter’s attire.
Woolworths Earn & Learn – It’s on again!
Finishes on Tuesday!
Stickers finish next Tuesday but please keep gathering
them from where you can for that first week back! We
have to fill up our sticker sheets and send them away
that first week of term 4.
We have a sticker box at school and also in
Childers Woolies. LAST WEEK NEXT
WEEK!
If you want your child to be successful
at school then YES, attendance does
matter!
Our Vegie Gardens are amazing at the
moment, with Zucchinis and Silver beet
ready to harvest. If anyone is interested, a
gold coin donation would allow you
to pick your own! All money raised
goes back into the gardens!
